#Forge switch broken
10 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Currently the LED's and firmware updates have to be changed individually on each M4G half.
You'll see the name of the half that's connected, at the bottom middle on the device manager https://charachorder.io/
After connecting to one of the Master Forge serial ports.
Forge M4G S3 <-- left half
Forge M4GR S3 <-- right half
The layout, chords, and settings should only be changed on the left half.
Currently the right half only sends it's keystrokes to the left half, like the CC2.
The trackball will be sent out later. There's a progress report in the latest kickstarter update: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/charachorder/the-master-forge-a-keyboard-built-for-you/posts/4499104
Contact !support about the stuck key.
While you wait for a response, keep pressing all directions on the switch with a stuck direction.
Roll between directions, meaning start leaning east, then lean south east, then south, then south west, etc.
Both clockwise and counterclockwise.
You could also try flicking in the stuck direction, by placing your thumb tip in the center of the keycap, then swipe north.
Also flick diagonally next to the stuck direction, meaning north west and north east.

I know it is individually changed, I mean I really turned it off, so it is off but sometimes blinks by itself
I also already tried to unstuck it with all the ways you mentioned but it does not help, what can we do about this ?
It might be caused by a random disconnection, because the Leds blink On then Off when it restarts.
I tried with different cables and plugged them well, the led is still randomly blinking
Is there any chance the left side forge led welding is close to the 'v' switch welding and they interfere with each other?
GG @lucid compass, you just advanced to level 1!
I don't know.
If the stuck v key is sent continuously, then it will eventually cause a reconnection. And when it reconnects if a one keeps pressing a key then the reconnections repeat.
Here's a post where I kept pressing a key until it reconnected. #open-beta-testing message
Alright, what solution do we have here ? Can you send me a replacement left side forge ?
