#most common english words which can be chorded on the CharaChorder lite

some of the words in the list appear to have been repeats, so here's a fresh copy without repeats ๐
i just thought that another question could be more interesting. given the top 1000 english words, what are the chords that could be used for these. so i went through the list again, and built chords for the words. this came out. some of the chords are still quite difficult to type, but they are possible ๐ some chords also contain only two letters
and here's a list with the words which could not be chorded with this method. each line is in three parts: chord, word-already-added-for-this-chord, word-which-couldnt-be-added
Very interesting, this is along the lines of what I was thinking of doing. It would probably be good to expand the base chord library.
You will likely need to do optimization on how each word is chorded with respect to ease/finger dexterity
GG @languid temple, you just advanced to level 2!
yeah, i think the next step would be to use a sort of huffmann encoding starting from each letter in the homerow. at the moment my algorithm produces the longest possible chord for a word. there are probably easy ways of shortening this. also some way to downgrade anatomically difficult chords such as crw. i'll think about it.
i managed to install the chords on my charachorder lite ๐ use at your own risk!
i put my short programs on my git: https://git.sr.ht/~ehrt74/chords and https://git.sr.ht/~ehrt74/words. no garantee of working. use at own risk etc etc
Interesting stuff ๐
I was trying the list out and realized that some words are really hard to chord. For example "both" is using the chord "bho" but both 'b' and 'h' would bee written by the right thumb on different numbs.
Have we later mained some considerations of this or maybe we already did but I missed something ?
So my question is what is the criteria for determining the most common English words?
Obviously they ran โจsomething โจ through a word counter, but what?
Hey gang, I've been having some issues with my new CC1 actually cording. I'm doing my best to make sure I'm pressing all the correct buttons at the same time and I often have to attempt each cord like 5 or 6 times before it works. Is there a setting I can change to help with this? I'm not at all familiar with adjusting anything and was hoping for a plug and play kind of deal haha.
I know exactly how crazy this sounds but unfortunately it works. Listen to the song Tainted Love by Soft Cell to get the timing right.
Other things that helped me was starting with two letter chords:
