#bootloader isn't opening

Hi there! Make sure that all the cables are fully plugged in. Then, head to dot io and click connect.
Once you click connect, you'll be able to see what firmware your device is on.
Oh? What happened?
i put the cclite firmware instead of ccone firmware, now when I try to open the bootloader nothing happens
Oh, yes.
We have the fix somewhere in the server. I'm still looking for the instructions.
Okay. You're on the cc1, yes?
REDACTED
Follow those instructions. Don't use that file. I'll find you the file for the cc1.
yea
Actually. I don't want you to follow those instructions.
well I did
....
and nothing happened
Bootloader didn't open?
No harm, no foul. Let me regroup with the team. Those instructions were created before CCOS existed, and we hadn't had this issue again. I'll ask to see what the best course of action is.
okay
Meanwhile, thank you for your patience.
๐
OH WTF
it randomly opened
the bootloader
or it took a very long time
can you send me a link where I get the new firmware?
please
#announcements
Follow the link in my latest message there, scroll down, and click CharaChorder One
You're on the CC1. That message is irrelevant for you.
That note is ONLY for the CC Lites
i see
ah nutts
I thought it would maybe fix my problem some how, magically
i updated to the newer firmware though
thank you ๐
Make sure your trs cable is fully plugged into both halves
And maybe adjust your debounce settings.
how can I access the GTM, other than g dup?
Both pinkies North.

oops
You've checked that your usb c cable is fully plugged in, right?
Yeah. Check your debounce settings. Increase to 14

change both press and release?
Are you changing your tolerances?
I was recommending that you change your debounce settings, not your tolerances.
@hollow cloak Hi - I actually also have the earlier issue where the updated file I downloaded actually ended up being the CC Lite file so now the bootloader won't load (since both the CCLite and CC1 update files are named the same I didn't realize the mistake until the original file was overitten). Can I get the initial file or instructions you shared with Mindblast3r?
Hey @hybrid python! Welxome to the community. I'll give you the link.
#cc-lite message
You can follow those instructions to get your device in bootloader mode.
thank you!
From there, you can take the download file from our website, which is in #announcements
And you should be set.
cool I appreciate the help - thanks!
Lmk if you need any help.
it's hard to even access the GTM, and yeah I was changing the debounce settings, not the tolerances, the one in "keyboard"
but anyway, I emailed support like you said, so thank you for the help ๐
@hollow cloak worked great - thank you!
Wonderful! Can you share your experience on how you ended up with the wrong firmware? Is there anything we can further clarify to avoid others downloading the wrong firmware?
Sure! It was 100% user error - I was in a rush to update and accidentally clicked the CCLite link in the file in step 5 in the screenshot Mindblast3r posted earlier. I realized my mistake as I scrolled down and clicked on the DL button for the CC1 under it's image, but I think when I copied the file over, I accidentally used the first file I'd downloaded which was the CCLite file.
That being said, I know reading instructions is a basic thing, but might suggest putting the note for the CCLite file on a separate line and putting the CCLite in all caps, and/or changing the term "from the file below" to the "Download Updates section below" . It's not that it's unclear now, but this might make it even more obvious ๐
Thank you for the feedback!
@hollow cloak I am having this issue too. Not having any luck. Verified 3.5mm connectors for controllers and USB-C are firmly connected. Connecting the dev mgr gives option for CCLITE and then it seems like it connects, but bootloader doesnt boot. :/
I made the same error as the OP
Follow the instructions here.

Worked like a charm.
