#AIX MPIO driver for Santricity

i cannot see this anywhere on the NetApp support website
SANtricity uses ALUA so you can just use that I guess? I don't think there's a multipathing driver for AIX (or any OS for that matter) anymore?
yeah, I noticed that too but I'm no AIX expert. Maxbe AIX does not support ALUA?
I mean there's the host utilities 6.1 for AIX... if it is anywhere, it's probably in this
yeah i thought thats just for ONTAP
In the last page under "E-Series SANtricity OS Controller Software". Guess the "AIX Failover Package" is what you're looking for.
That's not true. An E-Series DSM is needed for multipathing in Windows, that's the only supported way (check IMT). Yeah, different to ONTAP where they only want the included Microsoft drivers.
SANtricity will even throw warnings in the GUI if it detects you not using the E-Series DSM.
yeah maybe, I just saw ALUA mentioned in TR4737 and assumed it would work without NetApp DSM 😂
ok turns out this is a crap show.. Seems only AIX 7.2 or below is supported (no AIX 7.3) but with Version 11.70 or below.. Our 2860 came with 11.80 and volumes have already been setup.. I dont think you can downgrade without blowing it all away.. Support cases raised.. will keep you posted
