This list area is for minor things that might get overlooked, but seems like a good idea to add in some way if we can.

To start the list:
Add which components can be swapped in recipes.
The example for this is how meat can be made into animal fiber (which will be noted in any meat section), or how Focal Shards can be used in place of Gems for certain recipes, or how Etched Ingots can be used in building as "ingots"
Unsure how to go about adding that into the lists, maybe on the Focal Shard page we could make an excerpt for it.
Perhaps a "replacement" type page we could link in "tips"...

^ Completed within the refinement section.

  • Insert images of each major card combination for minor cards in the minor cards list.
The reason I say to do it this way: See discussion here in case more discussion happens #1425192600939266301 message
If we do each night and day in each Major card page this will be over 200 images per page.
However, if we do it via the Minor Card pages it shrinks it down to about 72 per Minor Card page.
I have 0 idea if this is how I actually want to do it, but people ask about the looks of cards all the time, and while I do have my old doc, because of changes in Realms Rebuilt, it's not as simple as that doc anymore. So we either need a sortable way to check, or spam pages with images.
Thinking better on it, on the Realm Cards page, we might just link to a "visuals" page, with links to each realm so it's not taking up huge scroll space on those pages. (Who knows, that's future me's problem)

  • Fix the links in crafting tables for pages like:
    Crafting benches

  • Find a way to explain pinning items, quests, and recipes.

image of each card combination
do you have these images available already?
make it a little box with a selection box in the top for major/minor card, and it then only loads that specific image.
can still link to a dirty "every combo" page if people want to just scroll/get inspired

do you have these images available already?
Negative, I was working on it, but when I did the math and crafting combo (at the time) I got very demotivated.
That was also before the debug menu was a thing and I could just give myself what I wanted/needed to craft each card.
With that now available, it's why I remembered to make a note.

make it a little box with a selection box in the top for major/minor card
I wont lie, I'm a little confused on this part, but do you have an example?

Is there a third option allowed for example:
Day vs night?

light aurora
#

easily added or just show both day and night screenshot side by side

royal void
#

Okay, can you run a test and edit the code in for the Realm Cards page?
(I have never seen that code, didn't know it existed but that's super cool!)

#

I'm wondering if we should/could align it to the right, so that it's on the main page but not taking up space between paragraphs

light aurora
#

like how the template boxes or images align to the right? sure i'll give it a quick whirl

royal void
light aurora

hm, forgot the wiki really locks down on what code/etc you're allowed to have, so might not be an option

royal void
#

O.O it does?!

#

Well that might explain a few struggles i've had in the past lol

Nightingale Wiki

Realm Cards are items which can be found and crafted in Nightingale.
These cards are unlocked in the Progression Menu or looted throughout the realms.
Once a player has learned the respective cards, these items may be crafted in the Enchanter's Focus.

OOO okay but that gives me an idea!!!

Okay, so still the minor card thing, but since we can collapse them, we can make it a chart at the bottom to choose which realm they want to see it.

Example:
Alchemist (info info info info)
(crafting info)
(Visuals of card in Major Realms)
Abeyance - collapsed
Astrolabe - collapsed
etc.

That way the scroll bar is only there when expanded.

So that'd be.... 34 tables, collapsed, which we could put next to each other (i believe)

#

10 story realms (Abeyance - Nightingale City)
6 untamed regular (Antiquarian - hunt)
6 ascended (Same as above)

#

34 tables with 68 images sounds fair 🙂 being hidden it also doesn't load the images untill you expand the table

#

let me know if you need any help getting the tables set up/etc once you get going on how you want the pages and i'll be able to assist.
i think having an overall "visuals" page that just has all the images so you can scroll/click the one you fancy would be nice too, but not as a main page

royal void
#

Nah it wouldn't be a main page, just either linked on the side bar like crafting is and looped off the Realm Cards page if we had it

#

I'll keep debating on which one, but now that we have a good idea of where to go with it, i'll edit the to do part

royal void
#

Wait. How did I end up with 34?
Sorry, now that I'm more awake and re-reading to go through the list, I'm like "what the heck?"

#

Oh I see, okay so scratch that, because brain was being dumb.
So we could make it 22 tables. For some reason I was counting each 6 as 12 for day and night separately, but kept the story realms as the same.

Example table collapsed:
Alchemist Minor Card - Table down at the bottom
Table Start
Align left Abeyance - Day - Night
Align Center Sylvans Cradle - Day - Night
Align Right Welkins Reach - Day - Night
next line
Repeating alignment Magwytch - Day - Night

This is assuming of course, that we can collapse these tables in a better way for mobile and PC browsing

Self Reminder:

  • Add new items (Masterwork) into base item stat trees in the items menu.
  • Add new items from latest patches into decorations pages
  • Gather images for housing item cards for buildings (tileset) pages to mimic Herbalist set.
  • Gather icon images for materials
  • Edit/redirect any links to pages that need fixing
  • Create pages "Major Cards:" to have card information, and links to all "Realm:" pages at top for spoiler pages to avoid confusion later.

Now that Bones/Meat and Chitin/Hides is a visible link, need to go in and edit their pages for corresponding links for standardizing like Fibres.
Ex. Hide: Harpy, Chitin: Scarab, Meat: Jabberwock, Bone: Prey ??? (maybe?)

Reason for listing type in front - Names share space with other entries. IE Jabberwock is a boss page

But also, we could just have all information in one page, and link them all to said page. Using above example, we can talk about jabberwock, link to the boss page, and have a section for the hides, bones and meat under a drops table

Need to figure it out....

light aurora
#

you could do i.e. "Jabberwock" page and have it contain just titled sections like "meat", "hide", "the boss enemy guy" on that page, but i think it'll be a bit messy? having meat/hide/etc prefacing the page title seems alright to me here

and we can always have a "category" page for "meat(S)" that just list all the meats in a table like how some are already doing it

royal void
#

I like that! We do have hierarchy categories so that could come into play there.

Just wasnt sure if ird be better to have a "one page fits all" or keep having them separate like other wikis do

light aurora
#

having them seperate would be the simplest for users to see "meat: jabberwock" and it's pretty clear what the page is, but searching for that and just getting "jabberwock" might not be very clear of an experience. just so long things are linked together, i.e. boss page links to the drops(and has a drop table), links to the meat category if you're on a meat, etc would all be pretty useable imo
