I been leery on this reset as I been wondering about reset. Does one base/camps also get removed as well? Having doing all the building and workstations, just feels waste if it all gets removed along with the back and forth in moving all ingredients.

If you reset a Realm where you have built stuff, those things you have built and accumulated will vanish.

#

But only the things in that specific realm.

# grim sigil ugh, thank you.

If you have a way to travel to that realm after the reset everything will be the same, like your cairn, if your cairn respite is in that realm you can reset the realm and still access it via TP on the map but the moment you lose access you lose that stuff so make sure the cairn is the last thing you move when you change base location, there are other things to access like the realm address card but you’ll need to make sure you don’t lose that card or close the portal you opened with the card, for the same reason, the moment you lose the card is the same as losing the realm if you’ve already reset that major card.

#

For example, I lived in a story realm of a deleted character, even after that character disappeared, I still had access to that realm the entire time my cairn was there

I was just building bases with full workstation in the sub-realms. If reset, I didn't want to rebuild it 'all' again.

When i was looking to build my current base what ive done is, open a untamed realm, explore a bit, if i like some areas to build i just created another portal and reset the realm without closing the previous one, and repeat till i found the spot im currently on, but just in case i had the backups on the other portals from all the previous realms, take some space to set up but you can do that too

The issue with building bases in Realms other than your Abeyance is that you cannot refresh the resources in THAT exact Realm without wiping your buildings. You will have to open another Realm of the same type to get more resources from that realm type once you have cleared the realm where your base is built. That is just the way it is. You can craft Realm Address Cards to a 'home realm' and open portal to that realm from any other realm, but if you make multiple bases you are wasting time and resources.

In Abeyance, I do have a sizeable workshop (feel like tyrant) where have 3 fish, 2 mine, 2 farms, 1 hunt and 1 wood. Resources for doing basic building not the issue. Just I do want to reset the lower realms at one point for refreshing resources (That +50% chest is helpful card!). Even doing the low/sub realm,

I do build with all the worktables and attachments by the portal (with portal teleport next to it). Explore away and get all the resources, mostly chest hunting and just hunt boss, marking specials (100 lvl resources). Still need the tool to get those last resources.

I have yet to get the 4th main realm and mining tool at 90. So still working on storyline but planning ahead a bit after watching the Boss Rush not long ago in live action. Special thanks to that 3 person team and congrats for level 50 in doing it!

This is why I question about reset the realms. So I am now stepping backwards to reclaim resources and other small things I left behind. Main Realms, decided not to reset at this point. I don't know what the other realms will look like as I go forward, but right now seeing that the fog is rolling and harder to see, just in the sub realm. BTW, I don't watch ytube videos, so no previews. Makes it interesting this way.

If you create a crude portal for the realm you want to have a base in and never reset that portal, that realm is safe.

In 0.3 I had a dedicated Farm Realm with the Farm Card. I named the Portal. and I had a tiny house connected to the farm area. It was the same in 0.2 when I had a cooking spot in a hunt forest realm with the Tavern Card.
