three geist mushroom trees. one by F3, the second in a factory building by E3. and the third just south of C6.
and finaly a luminous spore tree at F5

Important Update Info For Builders:
Farming plots, such as Plant Pots, Planters, etc, are no longer considered Augments.
Their build value cost has been reduced (from 50 to 2), and they now take Farming augments, which boost their growth speed.

you can only activate one minor card at a time, it's just a selection of the most appropriate ones.

Particular with some of the hides, like Widower/Beelzeboar, have had a +2% increase on all tiers

Harpy Fabled is still strong, since it has a higher variety of stats

I dont really see where vaults fit in the end game now. Couple builds ago they were the whole end game, now ?? They nerfed essence drops so its much better to farm that in wild realms. Bosses are more accessible (although randomised) in boss rush. Only reason for the vaults is to grind those specific three bosses if you really really have to.
Boss rush feels way more rewarding since you can get different mats for everything while grinding a certain boss
farming that harpy boss' harpies for t4 fable and happy to get the other mats
i imagine there'll be a lot of stalling on yex(?) for farming of the other bosses he summons

Melee Weapons & Tools are updated.
Some interesting changes here:
Climbing Picks now have variable critical damage, used to all be x1.5, now scales up to x2 at Mystic.
Wood Axes also gained variable critical damage, and have had a general Melee Damage increase across the board.
Fishing Rods gained variable critical damage, increasing in 0.2 increments up to x2.6 at Mystic. Also, Mystic gained a fishing rating increase, from 2 to 4, putting it above the Dauntless rod.
Hammers gained variable crit, up to x3 at Mystic.
Hunting Knives gained a 0.5 increase to critical damage across the board, as well as an approx 20-25% damage increase for every knife. Simple had a durability increase as well.
Lanterns have had a massive attribute upgrade! HUGE melee damage increases, all used to be 5, now Mystic does 405, for example. All lanterns gained massively increased health regen, plus some stamina regen.
These are now -very- viable off-hand melee weapons with the swipe attack, with melee damage equivelent to the Wood Axe.
Mauls unchanged.
Mining Picks gained variable crit and damage increases.
Sickles gained decent damage increases (except refined which dropped a little for some reason).
Umbrellas & Watering Cans are unchanged.
Ranged Weapons are Updated.
All bows gained magick power values suitable to their grade qualities (except simple which stayed at 0).
No changes to anything else ranged.
Need confirmation on whether Lanterns are unable to score critical hits using its swipe attack.
Clothing is all updated. Nothing big changed, most notable being the Scholar's Bonnet that was acquirable at the Watch but was for whatever reason a T2 item is now a T4 item and has appropriate stats, so makes a lot more sense on its placement.

I think melee is becoming more viable now, some really good 20-25% damage increases, lots of extra crit ranges for high tier

There's a whole range of new ones that are milestone rewards for the Boss Rush realm, when you get to certain waves you get better rewards

Each wave will increase the difficulty of the next wave. I don't believe you can change the difficulty of the portal like you can in other realms. To that end, no. But as you progress, you get different/higher tier infusions including some of the combo ones posted above.
I changed the difficulty. did the easiest to see if it change quand, but it doesnt. But dont know if the reward wave for T5 infusion can start sooner if you set high diff. Will try that, but for now I know that wave 25 I got the infu ๐ฎ

so the mystic launcher, i feel like it does more per-shot damage in single fire (left click) than burst fire (right click). Am i hallucinating? It seemed like it might almost be slingbow-level in single fire, but I can't guarantee I've got weapon build equivalence.
I crafted one for my friend, cause I dont like ranged things. And I noticed he put on fire durong our boss rush session when he multi shot.
Can u try if this is a thing ? doing statut( like ignite ) things with multishots and more damage on single ?
I suppose you could but I found dots so underwhelming when i tested them at 0.5 launch that I havent bothered using anything but ice ๐คฃ
If you want to stack a lot of fire you'd be better of carrying a porter loaded with fire revolver, swapping to blat that empty, then swap back to launcher with ice. That way you arent changing ammo when you could be killing things.

Greed card increases the boss rush loot chests? I always thought it would only work on the small fae chests.
Generally, yes, it does increase those chests. The way boss rush is setup though, you can't actively use greed to boost your chest contents because the card you use affects your current battle, not the loot in the next zone

You CAN randomly land greed and it will boost the rewards though
When you get to the next room, go around the chest making sure not to get close enough to cause it to do its opening animation. Play a greed card at the realmic transmuter. Collect your 1.5x rewards from the chest. Play whatever card you will use for fighting the boss, then carry on as normal. You can use greed cards to control your loot that way

There's two maps that basically force you into it, the Bound Sentinel, and iirc the Elder Eoten, both put the chest either too close to player spawn, or leave no path around it to get to the transmuter, the rest work just fine for getting around them

just noticed, the Ghost minor card description in the doc says its perpetual night
But in Things Explained doc minor card page, there are day and night screenshots for Ghost
It's because there's a note on the doc that says Major cards now effect minor cards, and there's no way to determine how yet. (sometimes they're meshed. Sometimes it's a mix of multiple minor cards, sometimes it's accurate)
I'll need to test to see if the ghost card stays night, or still has a day/night cycle.
Please let me know too, at the moment I have PC issues and cannot reliably get in game to test things. Will have a new rig in the next week or two, but until then will need to function from others testing and inputs.

Honestly, I think a lot of the cards are broken for day night cycle.....
I can not for the life of me get the night time portion to activate no matter what the game time is in-game with many of the cards.
For example - Farm card has a day night. I use and used this card a lot.
But sleeping doesn't trigger night, in-game map clock doesn't show night, fully day time at 3AM.
The new winter cards also seem to ignore a night time schedule, and act as day all the time.
I think the back end data for day/night still relies on the old system, regardless of the time in game, the game still treats the day night cycle as its own separate entity... So I'd have to wait naturally for it to take effect, which is 2 hours of just kinda.... Diddling around to see if that's true.
As for ghost, I sat in my desert realm with my ghost card for about an hour, and though the "sunlight" moved, I had to log off before I could fully test.
Though, let me log in and just AFK vibe, since I have time today and I'll confirm yay or nay on the text error

There is a time of "night", I'm getting bound spawns, tons of night time noises, night time sound track, and all that.
There is a time of low light, but not black night like we're used to with other cards.
The description in the doc is wrong? Unsure if mixed with another card that's perpetual night on accident (you have TONS of info in that doc, so stuff can get missed) but none of the descriptions in the game list perpetual night for Ghost.

At least now the struggle is seen for those confused why it's hard for me to update my visuals of the minor cards, the red is due to the major card in play, it's not as hazy as it's supposed to be except for certain times of the day, and the sky is the wrong skybox. (it's like a weird mix of old Lumbermill moon, except changed, and the lines of trickster but altered colors)

The description for perpetual night was from awhile ago, it used to cause the bound spawns, which for the matcat I labelled as perpetual night, back when it used to actually make things dark and shrouded in fog.

well, i would say that the fabled hunting guide doesnt completely fit anymore, because some T1 and T2 animals are no longer spawning as the realm spawns have been overhauled with RR
I have yet to see any of them spawn out of place in untamed realms, so that's just the storied realms having preset spawn spots for them.
So nothing has changed with how they spawn, it's just that the storied realms where everything is preset has their spawns preset.

well, it was before and after a reset, as well as me having killed it and it respawning

So does the bugged Sphagumph, doesn't mean anything.
What means something is if it was added to the realm or if it's replacing something else.
If it was added we know it's probably not a bug, but if it's replacing another spawn it's likely a bug.
So check if Eikthyrnir, Callisto and Camazotz are all present on the map while Bloodhorn is, if one of those 3 is missing it's likely a bug like with Big belly.
And we know Big Belly is a bug because there are 2 Sphagumphs on his map, one of them having stolen his spawn
well, it might be a bug then, because i have eikthyrnir, and callisto spawning, but not camazotz
and even those dont show on the map properly, callisto only spawns once youre close enough to the first cave after a reset and then wont spawn anymore
Ok so Camazotz spawn bugged and got replaced by Bloodhorn, just like how Big Belly was replaced by Sphagumph.
Question is will they fix it anytime soon or leave it be for months like they have with Big Belly.
Yeah fabled spawns in abeyance and some storied realms have been buggy since the winter update, I've noticed it in my abeyance multiple times.
They don't always respawn even when they should.
Kind of why I suspected Bloodhorn to be a bug too

It can happen with all 4 fableds in the abyeance realm, on my last char I ended up having no fableds in my abeyance because they just didn't respawn
now that i think about it, i dont think i had any fableds except for the wolf, including at a second character
the "Ore" tab, should probably be worked like the meat/bone or chitin/hide tabs, since not everything appears as ore, but rather appears as Ingots, Gears, Plates or Filigree
I thought so too until I looked more closely at it, once I did I realized it is already complete and doesn't need touching.
It already has all the stats, and the format of the item(ingot, gears, plate etc) doesn't matter since the stats are still the same.
All normal automaton parts have the same stats regardless of what shape they take, it's only when fabled parts are included that it gets messy.
only problem is, you cant use plates, filigree or gears everywhere, and can only be used in certain situations since the reclaimed ingot recipe has been removed or at the least disabled
so it would be nice to know, what parts exist specifically, or at least it would for me
I won't argue that some extra information on which format you can find the metals in wouldn't hurt, but each specific piece might not need to be it's own entry.

I'm looking for an active and interested person who would be willing to take over the upkeep of data for the Materials Catalogue, as I will be moving on from Nightingale as my focus. And as such, I will no longer be updating the MatCat for future updates.
The person I'm looking for is one who is willing to update all the statistical values each update for the existing materials, resources, and items, as well as adding any new ones.
You will be given edit permissions, though I will retain ownership and save a copy, and keep an eye on the thread here to make sure things get done. Ideally the MatCat should be completely updated within 1 week of the game update landing, and the sooner the better.
If there's no one willing (or things don't get done within reasonable times), then I'm afraid the MatCat will be closed, as the purpose of the MatCat is to ensure accurate and up to date information, and simply due to the volume of use the MatCat sees at updates, having it contain out of date and inaccurate information, especially for resources etc, will do far more harm than good for the community.
I'd also like to thank the community here for all their contributions, without each and every one of you, this would never have come to be what it is, and it's been a blast to be part of the community.
For those interested in taking on this responsibility, please send me a DM, and we can work the details out from there.

Easier alternative, the community as a group takes it over so it's not on one person's shoulders. Then you won't need to check back to see if you want to close it.
Is it a bad idea to start migrating the information over to the wiki?
imo the wiki would be ideal - something Google can search would help even more folks
Given that the wiki builders have had access to this information (specifically ensured they had access long ago) and still have not yet uploaded it fully, I'd rather find one or two people to handle the MatCat specifically, since that seems to be the more achievable task comparatively.
And if not, the wiki builders can always save a copy of the MatCat before I close it if no one chooses to take up the task of upkeeping it.
The downside, is that the wiki builders are one person (me) at the present moment and even that's arguable.
Since due to new job schedule, it hasn't been able to be updated often.
I don't mind if I could get an editable copy and go along, assuming you take it down too quickly, that way I have a reference point (assuming nothing drastic changes the info should be good for a while, while they touch up descriptions on their dev side)
I personally don't think it should be closed with such a short time, and if necessary I will DM you about it to at least keep it going while you move on to other ventures. ๐ซ
Opening a doc is easier right now for me than adding all the necessary explanations a wiki needs.

I was thinking of implementing some change on my copy of the matcat but I saw that you were continuing it
few changes that would make the cat more pleasant to navigate, for example:
- group the stats by type and not just alphabetically
- to integrate the location directly into the page, (by mouse over on the tier for example)
- group all boots, bottoms gear etc. together on a single page
- rework of the โThings I wish I Knewโ page with the most frequently asked questions, such as: explanation of the gear score, how to have the same type of realms more than once, explanation of the soft cap icon, etc.
- instead of โstoriedโ, put the name of the realms like that:
After talking with Kahz a bunch, I am going to take it over, at the same link its currently at.
The Things I wish I knew definitely needs updated for some of the new patch stuff so I'll be taking submissions on those, adding some from Katari's guide and the wiki, etc. And in general, definitely keep posting any material locations, stat changes or new stuff you find so I can get them put in!
the other way everyone who's offering can help is to update the https://discord.com/channels/854679517997695016/1334131621401727007 too. The mat cat is faster - but ultimately the wiki will be a better overall resource if we could turn it into a real community project instead of leaving it all on Katari and Lazarus's shoulders.
As far as I could tell, the only reason the wiki got traction was cause the matcat wasn't gonna be around. I don't expect the community to do the work twice.
As far as missing content, you could start with the stuff that's been left out on purpose. Then the patchs brought new items and item stats while Kahz was away.
And there were some posts before Kahz's retirement post that may or may not have been added.
Recipes and materials have been updated for the anniversary update.
With the changeover, it's definitely possible that I missed something that should have been updated before now - if you find anything, please post it here!

I'll probably add in some scaling information - how does more magick affect the spell (more damage? bigger radius? etc), but the actual numbers are so subject to change that I'm not sure the mat cat is a good place for the actual formulas. You should definitely put them in the wiki with a patch number label though!!!

It might be useful to indicate the possible components for weapons and tools, as is the case for pieces of equipment. I'm thinking in particular of cases like the dauntless umbrella, which can be made from more materials than the mystic one
the thought has crossed my mind, and I have a listing for some of them in my personal stuff that I made while Kahz was still doing the guide. Knowing that its not just me, I might work on finding the best way to incorporate that this weekend!

I do like your sheet, but have you consider adding in "things to know" about controller use. In using controllers there is no 'sheathing' your weapons/tools options. Plus a lot of differences in how things are changed in button access.

Controls & Keybinds are a setting found within the Player Menu accessible by either Escape, or tab, under the "Options" tab and selecting "Keybinds". This tab can also be found in the Main Menu by clicking "Options" directly.

Using the LB on controller just throws the offhand item. If umbrella, it right hand button 'O' or 'X' pending controller used. Right now, the quick tab for switching weapons of either hand is not operational. Only can do the hold down and turn wheel to switch (makes combat rough if not good at it). Being early access, updates fix one and other breaks. Just a matter of tracking it down.

The masterwork knife has 7 total gems that can be applied to it, resulting in 20 total unique components, same number as other 1 handed melee tools

Looking through the sheet, the components list for the Embellished Headwrap doesn't seem to be accounting for being able to use a Focus shard for the gem, which allows for two more gems and a pigment ingredient to be added.

Glad someone mentioned that. It makes the embellished headwrap far and away the best choice for most every build I think. Fortunately we can now glamour our headwraps so we don't all look the same.

Just went to an Ascended Astrolabe Desert to hunt Sere Eotens, but there are none of the map.
Either my realm is broken or the Locations Finder has bad info.
Only the Fabled one was on the map.
Fabled Sere Eoten doesn't show up as crown on the map

The longbow base stats were off in the catalog. They have now been corrected.
I've also added a new table to help with determining the ideal augment combos for crafting. If you prefer, the old list is still on the same sheet - just scroll down (and a bit to the right) - but this will help anyone who's wanting to determine what 'best' means for themselves.

a lot of people don't know the patch numbers very well, so it was requested as useful for identifying the actual patch number.

Google Docs says I should be able to view it in the Last Edit spot in top right but mine shows grey, it also suggests looking at version history but that as well is grey.

Reason I am looking is the Excelent Enchanters Focus says it only does the Science Augments and has 4 slots, bu the only Augments I have that work on it are the Crude Sundial and Formula Board. both t1 and do the same thing so they both cant be used.
I went and crafted all of the Science Augments i have and those are the only two that show as a selection.
the stats are indicated in the effect lists column, and the furniture associated to each augment is indicated in the right column, you need to scroll to see it
As a newer addition (in mid april), there's a full list of augments on the "ideal augment combos for crafting" page
it's organized by trait, but the second column also lists the augments that fall into each tier of that trait.

yea. You could build the table at victor's house to utilize a T2 & T3 science augment, but it seems like a lot of work for not a lot of return.
I remain eternally hopeful that we'll get a rebalance of augments, traits, and bench slots.

Made a very brief update to the catalog.
This update includes absolutely ZERO new data.
There's a note on the locations finder above the filters that highlights the need to save your own copy if you want to use/change the filters. I also moved the big table of location data and renamed it so that people who don't want to save their own copy can more easily see/find/use that larger tab.

There appear to be a few materials available using the admin mode spawning tool that we do not have listed in the catalog.
I will not be adding them to the catalog until we have found them in the wild - the admin panel makes possible a LOT of things that the materials catalog just can not compensate for.
I have looked through 99% of existing materials and explored around a bit. I have not found any updates that need made to recipes or materials, so at this time, an update is not required for patch 0.8 (given that I'm not adding anything about the cheat console).
If you find something I've missed, please let me know!
the mw longbow recipe has been corrected it use a mw arm bow instead of a mw handle, I didn't check if it's change the mats number

Old was 20 components, new is 24 - in line with other 2-handed mw weapons.
I have added a new materials sheet to the catalog to account for materials/tags that can only be acquired through the debug/enable cheats menu.
Listed attribute bonuses are for ONE tag. The city's unique pies are also listed here (as they cannot be used for anything other than eating unless you're using the debug/enable cheats menu).
as of the last few days, luminous spore spawns in ascended antiquarian, astrolabe, and provisioner swamp realms, and appears not to spawn in ascended herbarium (in ten rolls). haven't checked gloom or hunt. spreadsheet says herbarium and hunt only (as well as magwytch, natch)
also the stats work.
also mystic tools don't appear to account for focal shard use

I know there is (in theory) couple of weird ways to get at the fabled harpy with the magwytch boss now, but I haven't been able to replicate them or see them replicated reliably.
yes harpy invoked by magwytch drop pseudo fabled resources (only in boss rush iirc), but I don't think FlutterButter have reached the watch yet
I can't edit the fable hunting guide sheet since it's completely separate from the matcat. but its information is still accurate. - and it was updated to represent the gauntlet realms, but not updated to reflect that pylons don't spawn bound anymore.
As Sirium says, you can get the non-fabled "fabled harpy meat" from the magwytch queen during boss rush - but you can't from the magwytch site of power. Since it's not traditional fabled meat it lives in a gray area.
Yeah it seems to be accurate overall, except for the sections on carnutes and harpies, which are not optimised and contain little inaccuracies
i was close, i had fable harpy stuff from doing whatever story realm it came from, magwytch makes more sense. but it had said there wasn't one and i was just hoping to be useful

Soโฆ in the Magick category, Danuโs cauldron is a refined augment, and crystal ball is excellent. If one suggested โidealโ combo is โWestern-Explorer-Tailor-Magickโ - wouldnโt you use the crystal ball instead?

If so, yes - you'd use the best available Magick augment to you, so Crystal Ball would be better than Danu's Cauldron
Also the naming of the tab is questionable, it's more "suggested" augments for mid-game. At end-game, you'd use different augments to min-max your stats.

Preference, I suppose? Western is the only one increasing damage and therefore the best one to apply. Explorer benefits movement speed. Tailor improves survivability and carry weight. Magick increases magick resistances.
Alternatively: what is the purpose of using Danuโs at all, if not doubling up on that category? Is that what people are trying to do for survivability
OK, so at end-game, we craft gear with T3 and T2 magick augments because once upgraded to Epic quality, it gives >100% resistance to fire, poison, etc damage.
So that list is actually suggesting โpick any of these four with a preference of first to last in this setโ
The initial order was set as a preference order bcause people kept wanting specifics of exactly what to do instead of experimenting and making decisions based on their own preferences.
They reflect a generalized consensus from Kahz and others and that's part of why that entire table got moved down and right - to encourage you to make your decisions based on what YOU value.

Given that the ptr notes state that the masterwork sheath will no longer be useable as a textile, I have reverted the materials catalog to counting textiles as 2/3.
other changes from the ptr (including new charms, etc) will NOT be listed in the catalog until the patch actually goes live.

The guide's infusions tab has typos for the ingenuity infusions. Their values are in the max stamina column instead of the stamina regen column where they should be.

i am in an untamed hunt swamp realm and have been hunting humbabas, no fabled, yet, but I will remember to take a screencap

according to the matcat there is t4 fabled humbaba hide, so i am trying to see of there is, but no luck today

because you can have Hide (Fabled Humbaba) that isn't actually fabled according to the icon - though it has the same stats as the Fabled Hide (Fabled Humbaba) .
I don't see the same thing for the meat unless I'm using the debug menu.
Reminder for anyone else hunting: T4 humbaba stuff would drop in the regular hunt swamp - not the ascended one.
yeah, somehow the tiers are screwed up on that, using the debug menu tier 4 becomes tier 5
but it does simply drop the normal humbaba bone/hide/meat, but Im gonna go hunting again today
They're not screwed up - the humbaba is an apex creature that's a tier higher than everything else in the realm.
The debug menu oddity is just reflecting that.
And the t4 fabled humbaba would work the same way fabled harpy does - a rare drop off the normal creature
which is why I am hunting it the way i do

i was finding woods too, when the patch note suggested we'd find wood in Ascended Antiquarian
more testing of that new feature may be needed bc if its not working we should probably report that
iirc patch notes implied it was weighted to suit the realm, so other stuff possible but wood more likely in anti, stone in astro, etc

I am sick which really sucks but the silver lining is that that means I called in sick to work lol and will keep on hunting through Ascended Realms for loot chests. Though so far from what I have seen it doesn't appear that the loot type changes based on Ascended Major card.
The only real noticeable difference that might just be random chance, is that I found double the fabled meat in an Ascended Astrolabe Swamp compared to when I realm dove in other types of Major

I have been diving 3 times into each realm category, hopping from POIs I can see that I know have chests. I will hit each realm twice with a cleansing card as i usually do, and then flip the transmuter to nauty or nice and kill bound for a while.
I've been doing it on Balanced difficulty, tho it seems like difficulty doesnt matter
i might change it to Easy and just delete everything with Life Drain ๐คฃ

5 minutes of killing bound and i can already tell you that I don't think the patch applied to the Naughty or Nice List lol

The -25% crit nerf also applies to augments and infusions. Augments such as Assassin T1 or Western T1 are reduced from +2% to 1.5%, and infusions are reduced from 2%, 4%, 6%, 8% to 1.5%, 3%, 4.5%, and 6% respectively
(same for lumber mill / quarry / forge)

I found two hollow metal ingots t4 with 9% crit and 21% stealth in a chest, in an ascended hunt swamp, I think that it should have been t5hollow metal ingots
and it's the return of fabled (fabled ###) vs fabled ( ### ). But this time the fabled hide (fabled ####) which has the stats of the fabled t5 and the fabled hide (####) which has the stats of the non-fabled t5
I have gotten a few odd T4 items on occasion from the chests. Sadly I did not document it because I didnt think to. It will go back and check tho when I get home. All my mats are organized by realm type

I can't wait for people to ask why their T5 carnute resourcs gives 10% melee instead of magick power, and why the T5 harpy resources has lower stats than listed and end up with a matcat that looks like this :

you only get a few pieces here and there but it definitely will give you way more incentive to realm dive in ascended realms. it's not uncommon to get 2-4 really nice pieces of a Tier 5 material from Fae and Human chests!

I had pretty good luck farming in Provisioner Realms
provisioner realms (even ascended ones) have a bonus to the loot in chests, so that's definitely a good place to start!
Provisioner's gives you a flat % increase of chest yield. i was coming home with lots of the different categories of loot from the chests.
yeah my provisioner's loot shelf has extra boxes because i filled up the main ones just diving in twice lmao

Random question - Patch notes denote "added Max HP for Losrewn" but I only see HP regen, is there a missing stat?
(Making notes to keep track of what to go back and edit because I know some of the stats stated are bugged or not showing)

yea, I might've just mistyped it. I filter it to T5 gems while checking becuase of hose my storage is set up.
and the eoten hearts and pandoras purity flank the losrewen, and both of those are legit health regen, not max health.
so there's like 4 different reasons I might've just borked it. ๐
