#Gloom Site of Power Not Opening with almost 100 gear score

I've been stuck trying to get the Gloom Site of Power to unlock in my Abeyance zone for over a week now. My current gear score is 97. I have all the refined benches I can get prior to completing gloom plus the excellent smelter with as many augments as I'm allowed for the benches placed.

I have even created new Abeyance zones and have redone all the other sites of power in order in a single session to see if maybe I had originally completed them out of order.

Currently, my Abeyance zone always shows the Antiquarian as running even though I've completed it and it reverts to running status no matter what new Abeyance zone I create and complete that particular site in. Also, none of the other sites of power show as completed on the map even when they all have been completed.

I've done all the quests I am able to finish without unlocking Gloom from all the other biome/type zone (antiquarian, astrolabe, provisioner, and herbarium).

Any suggestions/help would be much appreciated because I have been wracking my head around trying to find a solution as you can see.

Have you updated your gear at the upgrade station? Or used magic enchants?

Also, which gear set are you using? That does make a difference along with the materials you use to make the gear

Also going to a different abyence realm will show those sites of power as incomplete since you technically didn't do them in that realm. For this situation you didn't need to go to a different one, but it's still ok if you did

Yes, I have upgraded all my gear and added charms/infusions. Thus the gear score of 97. I am currently using the frontiersman gear set.

I have also applied Tier 2 materials as much as possible while making gear/tools/weapons. Even remaking several in different combos to see if that would help open the zones.

I am not familiar with that set, but if you have the NTTC set, that one should get you there. What weapon are you using?

One hand weapons and the umbrella don't work well with the gear score. The umbrella doesn't seem to count towards it

I have all refined tools made with iron or steel. I also have a chassepot rifle made from gilded lumber, harpy leather, a bombardier/kyrosiphon ingots)

I typically use a refined axe made from advanced lacunus and T2 forest wood

I want to preface this as: This isn't an answer, but I've seen this bug reported once in discord, and assisted one other in testing when their realm was bugged.

I don't know the cause, but I know it's very rare. I would submit your player logs via "submit a request" and explain what happened on this site for the devs: https://inflexiongames.zendesk.com/hc/en-us

Secondly, if you're playing in online mode, I have a solution though temporary. (luckily you only need to do these once)
When I assisted the person in testing whose realms wouldn't allow her to get through, even when I maxxed her out with my gear at level 200+ she couldn't go in. No matter what realm we spun up. We spent an hour on this trying to find a work around for her. However, if I walked in before her, the gate would open for a few seconds and she could get through.

I did this twice for her final 3 sites of power, as all three refused to let her through. Once to get her in, and once to get her out.

I do know that what you have equipped matters when entering. I ensure my gear score says 97 in the player stats and my axe or rifle are equipped before trying to enter the zone, but the gloom site of power icon never shows up on the map and still does not allow me entry.

Can you show a picture of your currently equipped gear? Or at least the gear scores on the items? If you're using those mats it should be high enough unless I am missing something

If you're playing online, I'd be willing to lend you a weapon to see if that bumps you up enough to get over the 100 gs

I don't remember if they had anything stuck, the number would climb. However, I made sure she was holding in her hand my pickaxe while in my clothes, which the clothes alone should have put her over, but she still was getting thrown back.

I even stripped naked to see if it would throw me back, and naked, with pickaxe in hand I could still get through at gearscore 90

I will also note, we did spin up a realm after we completed her sites of power to run a final test:

If she made the realm she couldn't enter, even after completing it. Which we had suspected since it wouldn't let her out either from the others.

But if I opened a realm, and we went to the sites of power, it worked and she could enter.

I have a friend that plays that was able to get into gloom, so I will try the trick Katari suggested. I really feel like I am bugged and don't feel a change in gear will help.

I know my friend has been in my online game and I wonder if that could have bugged it somehow.

I appreciate that and thanks for the help. I'll let you know if the piggyback trick works for me or not once I can catch my friend online to try it.

Sucks to know that even if I start a new game I may have the same issue, so I hope that isn't the case. One thing I didn't mention is I did start a game offline before creating and playing online. The offline game has not opened up any sites of power as of yet since I created it and then ended up playing with my friend online.

Not sure if that may have been a trigger for the bug.

If it helps, I think it's just because of the RNG when creating a realm. The girl that ran into this bug never had any visitors, always played solo and her character was made before offline ever existed.

So I think it's a bug very rarely in the procedural generator

Luckily after the initial sites of power the gear score requirement isn't there anymore

Thanks Katari, the piggyback method into the sites did work for me! I was able to get both Gloom and Hunt done

Soooo, I just found out for future reference that gear score is not the only flag for entering the Gloom and Hunt Sites of Power. You have to have initiated the quest from Nellie Bly. As soon as I spoke to her I got the achievements for completing those two sites. I went back and checked my Gloom/Hunt sites and now am able to enter. Hidden flag no one speaks of, so thought I'd share it here since no one seems to know that silent flag exists.
