#Build From Storage?

I'm new to the game and want to figure out how to build from storage. I have been playing a few days. I am using angling baskets for storage and I have opened them, clicked the gear and enabled all three options in it. However when I try to build or craft anything, it won't let me uunless the materials are actually in my inventory, so how do I do this? Any help would be great, thanks

From what we've seen and tested so far, much like craft from storage originally, there's a smaller foundation limit. I think it's been noted 3-4 foundations out, and as it's a bubble, it should be 3-4 up as well.

I haven't tested the up part of it yet.

But, since crafting from storage got an increase, a lot of players are hoping build from storage does as well.

I have 6 foundations in my house and my chests are inside and I try to build/craft inside but it doesn't let me, so I'm not too sure what I have done wrong 😅 This is where I have it

I've seen a discord thread where they explain that some augmentation doesn't work with crude wall but works with better tier wall, it's maybe similar with storage, try with a wooden chest?

The weathered trunk can be trade in antiquarian forest

otherwise it's herbanium swamp for the voyager's steamer trunk, which is a better storage

Okay thanks, I will try and get one of them later and give that a try and see if that fixes the issue 😄

Yess, this is what I have set on all my chests and they are all within my home

that odd, if you have a companion, you can give him/her the materials and set him up to build, it's clearly not as good but it helps

Yeah very odd, but at least now I can craft from storage which was the part which was most frustrating, and thanks I will do that! Hopefully I will figure out why the building doesn't work at a later point before I start doing some proper base building haha

I'm sure the answer is yes, but you do have the materials in the chest right? Also, I don't see any BP's in the screen shots, where are you trying to get it to build?

Hmm, yeah that's for sure not supposed to happen... I'm going to check the report site and see if anyone else has had issues, so you could upvote or comment on as well, apologies for the wait

I only found one, and it's based on offline mode, are you in offline?

Alright, so this report lists that it started happening after using the "return to respite" command, have you ever used that?

Thanks! That isn't my post, I upvoted it as well. And I have clicked on that option on the map before I tried to use the build from storage feature as I wasn't aware of it until a friend of mine let me know it was a thing, so I for sure have used that option before I tried to use the feature, I'm not sure if it was working beforehand though

I have only really been playing 4-5 days so far, so there is a lot I don't really know how to do or how things work, being a bug or something I just haven't fullly understood yet haha and thanks for the help, I hope so too! Its odd how the craft from storage works in the newer chests I got earlier, I will keep getting new chests if I find them and see if it lets me on any paticular ones, as I can't craft from storage with basket chests but I can with the next tier up

I was thinking maybe there's a hidden mech? Maybe since it's so brand new only certain items can be built from the chests, and maybe only certain chests?

But I would think they'd have a "this ability isn't learned yet" or something on chests that can't be set

I have no idea either haha I'm just glad I can do crafting at benches from chests now as my main goal is exploring, I haven't progressed enough to do any serious building yet so hopefully it is figured out before that point x)

I’m having the same problem. Crafting from storage works, building does not. No matter the distance.

Does it doesn't work at all, or does you maybe don't have the resources.
Just try to place a simple bed which just need crude fiber, and be sure these are at the storage.

It doesn’t work at all. I have the resources. It only works when the resources are directly in my character inventory. It doesn’t work for any blueprint, including the bed.

I just made a test myself.
At a new realm i placed blueprints for the Basket and bedrell next to the portal.
Builded the basket, moved all fibre and sticks into the basket and try to build the bedroll.
Ofcouse don't work.
Enable the building option at the basket, and i could build the bedroll.
You should try it self.
When it is working the game basicly is fine and just something is wrong with your storages or baselocation.
When it don't work at all, i would try to uninstall, delete the remaining gamefolder and reinstall.

Dude, I already said I have building enabled on my chests. Bugs don’t necessarily affect everyone, so saying it works for you isn’t necessarily helpful. I know it works for other people. I just added my comment to say I am also experiencing the same problem as the OP for visibility.
