@tacit forge Hey there! Iβm having an issue where all of the walls and foundations in my base disappeared, but the decorations and chests are still there. I can still walk through the house as if the entities are there, but if I pass through a wall it teleports me back. Iβm a little unclear on whether thatβs included in the fix being deployed today, do you have any insight into that?

Usually it does pop in but sometimes takes longer. In some cases needs logout & back. But not this issue.

Hi all, we just did a rollback - should have caught anyone that submitted since the patch until now. There were a couple instances where the realm was still running so we'll need to catch those next time.

Just logged in to check. I did not receive a rollback, unless the rollback was for like a week or something and just left my realm empty
trying to get on that char had the issue keep getting network error
So do we need to put in the request again if there is no change still? We lost ours Early EST this morning. submitted then. Resubmitted as asked in here when told to check.
My rollback brought back my realm but I lost hundreds of mats farmed up over the last week or so.

@tacit forge I didn't get any rollback. Just a plain, brand new realm; I can tell due to the Portal/Essence Traders being in the wrong place on the map.

they have stated multiple times to be logged out / that one of the few reasons a restore didnt work was because that acc was logged in.

Time frame doesn't matter if a restore physically can't happen because you're logged in. 1 problem at a time
But to actually answer the question, it seems they're pretty quick about the restores. Maybe an hour or two?
just to clarify, your character can be logged in, just not in the realm you are trying to get restored

How long have you been playing? My thought is that maybe the rollback pushed us back to before we actually had a base setup.

what i'm think if they only did 24 hour roll back it wouldn't have gone back far enough..so we would still see how it looked after teh glitch.. roll back 48 hours pass the time when it started to glitch
I don't know the games coding well enough to say anything for certain. I would propose that if it's an issue between the server and client connection, as it seems it might be given the info we have, that we shouldn't need to be rolled back a week or something more than a day or two.
Yep true, I think its always been an active realm cant be rolled back but asking to stay logged out too was probably more cautious advice from yesterday when they had less knowledge of the issue

Not I. Lost it Sometime between Fri nite/Sat morning 3am-ish EST when I logged off for the night, and 2pm Sat afternoon when I tried to log back in. Did the first report about 10 minutes after the form went up, then the second report again today right after the maintenance. Never got it back.

Yeah I just checked ingame as I built a little base next to world portal last night, its not the same realm so that theory is a dud. It just hasn't been rolled back at all.
Technically, yes. I don't think it was the same issue. But about 7 hours into playing, ALL of my data was wiped, character and all.

Happened to me ~8 hours ago (Which is 0300 in AEST, so I raised a form and went to bed,)
Occurred after respiting home from my co-op buddies place, just after doing a few Apex Vaults after unlocking the Watch. When I portalled home I was sent to default spawn point - POIs had reset, all my buildings were gone. Form has been submitted.

Hi all, just wanted to add to messaging from other Inflexion folks. We can't thank you enough for your patience through this situation. As you might have seen, there were quite a few devs working all weekend to understand what's going on and prepare mitigations and solutions for affected players. We're all sorry this has happened and we'll continue working to ensure everyone gets their realms back and this doesn't happen again.
tbh it sucks to go through this, but you guys have been fantastic. And to be doing this all weekend too.... Job well done.

One thing I'd love to see someday is a docuseries or something on how the servers work, technology used,etc. As an Infrastructure guy I'm always curious what companies use and how they scale these things (you know short of just paying more and more money to the AWS's of the world. How the realms work reminds me of a kubernetes type setup where after a set time of the realm being idle, it powers down and then when you are loading a realm it then spins up a new instance....
You guys are amazing. This game is fantastic, and to see you all working so passionately is just awe inspiring. Thank you for everything.

So I had my realm reset and now I lost my companion...
@manic glen That had happend to me in a previous occasion. Honestly, what had happened for me is that the items withen them duped, and when I recruited the other, the duplicate would despawn and drop a box with their items. I then kept the one I had switched to and eventually unrecruited it, it also despawned - dropping its items in the process as well inside a box. I thought the recruit was gone forever but she was back at the realm she originated from (I assume as a new version with a new inventory, but exact copy in name and looks). I've just avoided unrecruiting from here-on whenever I'm somewhere the recruit doesn't originate from, otherwise they despawn
same thing happened to me i would leave it till the next update its a glitch

It's been a thing for a while, just don't unrecruit them unfortunately, unless it's like the recruit from your home realm, you can find them again by the portal for some reason
well, for all you can, just that the home realm one is easier to access consistently if you need to unrecruit them for whatever reason

We were able to manually investigate a few cases of why previous requested realms did not update, as well as realms rolling back a week instead of the previous day, and we'll be working on a solve for that in our upcoming batch updates once back in office tomorrow.
Meanwhile, please continue to submit if you have an abeyance realm that needs to be rolled back so we can include you in those rollouts.

methinks the patching a few hours ago broke more of us....our shared realm just went poof for 3 of us....

Interestingly....2 of us logged into our characters and both ended up in the same new realm....so it didn't create us each a new realm...

So if our base was rolled back a week, should we still not play that character until further notice? I'm afraid to say that it could be a blessing in disguise, but I don't want to continue further on that character until I know it's going to be stable.

Would not be a huge issue but 3 other friend built @ my realm so a total of 4 players have lost all banked items and gear as my realm was our bank, We have a portal nexus that was unefected and a Farm world that was also unaffected by my personal Abeyance was the Bank and housing for us. Hopefully they are able to fix the issiues for us in the next wave.

I had my brother submit restore request since he was technically the owner of the realm..will see tomorrow if it's back. If not...will juat do it again..no biggy

only the abayence realm is getting reset, not your character (as far as i know)

Im wondering if i do the same. I never got my base vanishing fixed from submitting multiple times as well. Might just Reset Realm and build on a new seed
I hope I am able to get mine back, I had 300 hours of hoarding/adventuring around mats, esp all the jana kill mats or things like cotton that can only be found by running around and picking them up rarely. Rebuilding all of that back would suck, but if there's no way to get it back I'll still play. Its a good game and its early access. The team seems pretty dedicated to working on fixes and it seems like they have a lot of love for this project.
yah, we had just gotten to the Watch and built about half the benches and we were rolled back to simple with a base that we had rebuilt twice ago, but it's nothing crazy for us, understand if you lost a weeks worth after being at that level or beyond
I got to the watch 2 weeks ago if my achievements are correct, my base was built to be more efficient for the time being, I was making/storing stuff so I could make something really special (apparently ceramic takes awhile :P) if I get my stuff back and you guys are still rebuilding I could help with some benches/mats if you guys are wanting to rebuild at this point!
Does anybody know how long it takes them to do the real rollback once you submit your request? I'm getting anxious to play again after 36 hours.
Thanks but should be good, most of it is the time converting resources to make the excellent benches, I already have the base half rebuilt and others will help farming as needed tomorrow so I'm in a good spot, will take them longer to restore from here than I can

Not exactly sure, I submitted about 1pm MT on Saturday, I didn't get a notification but I checked when I got home later that night around 11pm and it was restored, just to about a week back I think, thought it wasn't that far back at first glance back but there was an active level 40 portal heh, I submitted last night as requested to review the backup from 1 week ago instead of 24 hours and they didn't touch it today so just started rebuilding

Still waiting on an official statement for this as well. They said they investigated specific instances of rollbacks longer than 24 hours but I can't find direction if they are planning to resolve it or not. My wife and I lost over 70 hours of progress between us and thousands of hoarded materials, but have resigned ourselves to just regrind it out since we were at least partially restored.
No, it was to fix the issue. If you want a rollback of your realm you need to fill out the form in #game-announcements

Having no idea what your play schedule is... just make sure you're not in it when they try to restore it.
I logged in like 5 sec and disconnected right away, every 1-2h since the form has been submitted
I also have not had my respite restored, for the 2nd occurrence of my base lost. I logged in Sat to my base being gone (same map, POIs in different places) filled out a form and it got restored. I played early Sunday morning for several hours, using portals to various desert realm, and the pocket watch in the map to return to my respite.... I went to a forest realm and used the pocket watch to return to respite and again it was same map, POIs in different spots and my base gone. I resubmitted form at 7:20am(EDST) waited till after the maintenance, filled out another form, and my respite has not been reset yet. What do I need to do to help the Devs to get this fixed?

it happened for me on saturday night, and i went back in today cause I was paranoid if i did send the request, so I wanted to send again just in case, but lo and behold my house is back
I'm paranoid now. I got rolled back about a week, and without thinking too much about it I went through and started replacing all of the excellent benches that I had that were gone after the rollback.
And then it dawned on me, if they fix it again, I might run the risk of getting rolled back yet again, so I'm going to move all of my materials and new benches to another realm. I spent all day today after the rollback collecting materials again to make all of these new benches and I would not look forward to having to do it a third time.
They really weren't clear about what they were going to be doing for the people who were rolled back a week except they were looking at it, and I hope they don't just jump the gun without giving us some kind of warning this time.
I dont think thats entirely warranted, they restored your base to the last good version they could find. You had two options, start again or trust they would return what they could. What were you going to do? refuse?

I know the dev have lot of work, i'm just a little disappointed because i wanted to play all week with a friend and waiting all the weekend.
@tacit forge and all other inflexion dev's, i still don't have my respite realm back but i will instead just rebuild, please do not lose motivation and realize we really appreciate you fixing this awful bug in the early stages of early access, so a big and well deserved applause for the work all you dev's put in to work your buttski's off whilst its weekend, its more than we could even dare to hope for from other studio's!
I think you missed the point of my sentiment. I'm not complaining about losing the stuff potentially. I'm just taking my own precautions and moving my work from my respite to a different realm- The best case scenario is they will figure out why some of us were restored for up to a week ago and others roughly 24 hours. In that case my fully outfitted base gets put back and I have a second set that I can use and all of the work I did this weekend won't be lost. Indirectly, materials that I used to create this second set that existed in my base from a week ago could end up just being freebies of sorts if they do do that restore and I'm not normally the type to take advantage of something like that.
They went above and beyond to work throughout the weekend and I have zero complaints, they just weren't very clear what they were going to be doing about the week people versus the 24-hour people. I'm just doing what I can on my end until we can be sure what they are doing. Now the complaint that I do have, is I have a second recruit running around in my base that's kind of creeping me out a little bit and looking over my shoulder everywhere. LOL
If I was reading the sentiments of chat correctly last night it seems people affected by the bug were appearing in a different region to the one they were playing in, I'm not saying dont do what you are planning (I considered it myself) but if the reports are correct you may end up asking for more than one restore should the problem resurface
Nope, not me, I logged off as soon as it happened and only back in once to collect the information they needed Saturday morning. Stayed out until a few hours after they rolled the patch out. Making (impatient) multiple form submissions to me is counter productive; I worked on a different character and let them do their work without adding more to it for them IMHO. I intended on expanding anyways, via my other character and via a friends respite for intermeditate transferring.
Finally have my base back - now to make a journey and see if I can return to it ok

Hello. I just logged on and saw my wonderful respite has returned. I wanted to know if it was safe to play or should I wait till everyone's is fixed? I don't want to add to, what I'm sure is, a long list of things to do.

If it helps mine was restored with the patch and I've been porting around without too much problem.
I need to wait five mins before using a portal or I get a travel error DC but I've always been able to get home again no problem

has anyone seen an ETA for completion? AND/OR a way to retract a roll back request? I've no interest in playing another character so i'm stuck not playing until they get to me. At this point, after so many days waiting, I'm fine to just take the loss and move on if they're going to take much longer.
Unrelated to this issue but it happens a lot if you get errored back to character select. I guess the fix for this makes that happen more often so tangentially related? Regardless, it usually requires restarting the game to fix for me.
When did you send your request? Because if it was pre-update, you can consider it's not happening, since you're supposed to send another one if you still don't have your realm back. So in that case, just don't send another one and you're good to go.
Did you log in and check if your base was back? They didn't send out emails telling you it was back. (if that was your contact method)

Base is still gone and I am afraid to rebuild for the 3rd time. Since my first two vanished and it has been over 48hrs. I love the game and I am making a new character and probably party up with this one and pray won't happen again

Yes, first based disappeared at 7am on 9th. I made a ticket and when they posted about the rollback I made a request at 10pm when I saw it.

For those wondering, how much will be lost, i lost nothing on my persona or items i carried... and the base itself lost around 12 hours "ish"...
They did all the batches over the weekend... some they couldn't do because either ID info was wrong or people were playing on the game and couldn't update. Sunday, they said to submit a new form if you checked and base was still missing. They would do another batch today (Monday) not sure when today. Probably wait for announcement

If you submitted a bug report, they did send me a link on how to proceed and the process was fast, considering it was weekend... i can only imagine they have all hands on deck to fix these issues...

It's a mutual frustration - yes we've put lots of work into our accounts but they can't be expected to work 24/7 at our beck and call. They're working on it as best they can :)

They don't work all day every day buddy - it was the weekend and an unfortunate timed bug. Pinned messages has info. People have jobs and work hard but they are also entitled to have time off! Video games are great but happy workers are even greater β€οΈ sure things will get resolved soon, we all have access to lots of other games to occupy our time with until then - as keen as we all are to play

So, when i lost my abeyance home... i sent a bug report, in it, i detailed what i was doing, with estimated time stamps... i also linked two screen shots, what my base looked like and where i ended up, when it was gone... aprox a hour later a recived a mail, where they game me a link on how to reset my abeyance realm, i followed that link... and today when i woke up, things was restored, or rolled back... i lost nothing on my persona, or what i was personally carrying, and i lost about 12hour ish on base... thats my experience, if people are curious
I got my base back with an extra npc in my personal bubble. Lost some iron ore and climbing pick but all replaceable. So all good.

depends on if you logged in to see if your base was back? If not, send a new form found in game announcements. if you did after sunday, wait til today's batch is done. Check pinned messages for more updated info

These people have made my toon unplayable. I cant even rebuild, because along will come there "rollback" at some point and just delete whatever I do now........so I have to just "suck it up" and not play

From reading through here all weekend, it looks like if you submitted prior to the "patch" at the end of the week, then they've reset your realm. If you submitted after that, aka this weekend (sunday morning for me - 24 hours ago - and I never logged in afterwards until late sunday night, so I was not in the game blocking a rollback), then they have not yet rolled back. They hopefully will get to those today. Just in case though, I submitted another request this morning.
So it could take a while, for those asking.

It is possible people had the even occur to them multiple times before your ticket was submitted (I don't know when you submitted your ticket, but this has been happening since 2:55 AM Saturday Morning Inflexion HQ time).
I feel your frustration, lost my base sat morning, got it rolled back, lost it again sunday, roll back failed second time. Playing my alt now but I don't feel as enthusiastic lol. But I have also seen the devs working non stop all weekend trying to sort it for everyone, I have faith they will get it all fixed but still doesn't make it any less frustrating.

I feel so silly... mine didnt get reset as of patch so I resubmitted and I am 99% sure I put a 0 in my player ID the first time and I think it is an O..... debating on logging in and seeing if it is fixed or waiting til later in the day

The patch didn't fix anything, it just prevented it from happening again/to others if they hadn't already been affected. You'd still need to submit a form if your realm is missing.
I got the impression they were doing the rollbacks in batches, as of last night they had done them all (not including the ones that failed) so you might have to fill in another request (I'm still waiting for word if we should do that myself as the rollback failed for me)

I've read that the same issue repeats itself a second time and I don't want to go through that again. I also read that they would announce it when it was safe to play. Apparently some folks are logged on and it prevents the devs from rolling back their stuff. I didn't want to burden or delay any fixes they might try by getting on and playing. So I thought I'd ask to be sure.

If I'm not mistaken they sent an update saying they restored all requests before a certain timestamp during the weekend. So they might have been overwhelmed to send everyone individual updates.

I read the pinned issues. It sounds like they rolled backa few players but not all. And maybe as @elder condor said, they could send out an update. But I'm not sure if it's safe to play yet. I really don't want a repeat of the issue.

I would say if you have submitted a ticket, but not received your notification that all is clear...I'd wait. I am in no way a representative of Inflexion though, so I have no idea what impact may happen if you're online before the fix happens.
That's true. I don't want to be left behind or not receive any permanent fix they may try in an update.
I'm guessing it is all in what the player wants to do...but I know if I were playing around, the fix came in, and then because I was on it caused more issues/prevented the fix, I'd be more frustrated at myself than at Inflexion.
Not that I'm saying that you being online would even effect what happens. I have no idea how they coded anything, or how the fix actually works code-wise.
And as much as I'm loving the game...I'm sure there are other games or other things you have going on that can occupy your time while they fix things. It is super unfortunate that it is happening, but sometimes "S*** happens". Best we can do is get out of the way and let those who can fix it do their thing.
I agree. I have others games and thigns to do to occupy my time. I too would be frustrated with myself if the fix came out and me being online caused more issues. They have lots to do, no need to add to it. The fact that they acted this quickly compared to other game devs, speaks volumes. Best thing we can do to help is not get in the way, as you said.

Yeah, their response time (assuming they started at 9 AM on Saturday) was 4.5 hours to the initial fixes. That's amazing for a new dev team on a Saturday.

I'd say play at your own risk, but should be good to go. It's early access, so take everything with a grain of salt, and weigh your own comfort against the information you received in the pinned messages here and in the game announcements channel.
And as sucky as it would be, if you do happen to lose it again, just submit a new ticket using the form linked in the messages. The best news is that it seems no one has permanently lost everything. That those they have reverted just lost whatever they did from a certain time.
Being able to get it back is a miracle in itself I'd say. We are lucky they back everything up.

Well, that is the nature of server based gaming. Always have a backup. If they didn't have it, I'd be pretty frustrated. The good thing is that they are able to access it quickly and use it to process a fix individually as opposed to a game-wide revert.

Are people's realms still disappearing after the patch?
Mine disappeared for a 2nd time prior to the full server maintenance after being reset back 24 hours. Havenβt been able to check mine since they took it completely down, but hopeful because they are really trying hard to fix it as soon as they can.
There are people who's realms haven't been restored after the patch. (Like myself.) But it is my understanding that they didn't have enough time to restore everyone's bases and are still working on it.

Though it is strange, my base definitwly was not rolled-back 24hrs. Maybe like 10. So I'm wondering if they roll-back 24 hours from the time of when the requestr was submitted, or whenver they get to it?
From what I understand, they roll back to the first uncorrupted save they find, for some, a few hours, for others i've seen say up to a week. The good news is, the maintenance yesterday shoudl prevent any further corruption on save, tha tradeoff being an incresed chance fo teleprt failure.

No character data should be lost. So making alts wont reset the alt, anything you did on the main such as buy stuff from traders will be safe

For the people that got rolled back further than a week should we not play the characters? Or will there be a fix for that?
- Yesterday at 4pm MT, an Emergency update was pushed through. This update was in hopes of stopping your saves from further losing your bases in your Abeyance. The fix is meant to "crash" your game if it detects there will be an overwrite of your save. So, you all may have been seeing more crashes since that update but it is just a temporary fix in order to prevent more bases being lost AFTER this fix while the team investigates further.
- There are still players without a restored Realm. These are players that were affected before this fix (so far). After the fix, you may have logged in and still had no base, BUT, this was because your Realm hadn't been restored yet and not because it was lost again.
- We are still working on restoring Realms in batches in order to see what is happening after the fix. So, what I need from you now:
1.Do we know what is causing the issue?
2.Do we know how to prevent it?
3.Can we restore our abeyance if we have already lost it once?
4.Where can we find an announcement about when playing the game is safe?
5.With your busy schedule, when can we expect an update on the issue? That way, everyone can know to expect an update around this time and not just hope to see one randomly.
6.What kind of errors should we expect to see now with the changes made? Like the Travel error log where we crash, will there be more.

I've been going through this thread to try and find people that had their Realm restored AFTER the fix (After around 5pm MT yesterday) and have since then lost it in order to let the team know that players are still losing their Realms even after the fix. So, if you fall under this category. PLEASE let me know timings so that we can get this data to the team
if you lost your Realm on Friday/Saturday and still have no restored Realm, we are doing our best to restore but the priority is to get the Realm in a good state where you won't lose your base again. That is why some of you have been waiting for so long because the state of the Realms are still a bit unknown.

Would it be possible to continue playing the game? If the error occurs, report it immediately to you or in this chat? Then restore the world to continue testing? That way you have something of a tester?
@autumn oak I lost mine on saturday and didn't bother with asking to restore since honestly I'm ok with having lost it. My main question would be: Is it probably now safe to start rebuilding? Because that's kind of what has me hesitating about doing it

Nothing like ten minutes to find out nothing has been fixed or not. I lost my as the patch updates. The several notices of Codex updates etc. I was offworld. Came back all gone. Sent in the paperwork but no information until now has been forthcoming. I guess we would like updates.
yeah honestly if it's probably not safe I wouldn't mind just kinda camping for a few days while that's figured out and reporting if it explodes lol would be just nice to know that's what I'm doing
I've seen a number of people talking about duplicate recruits after the fix and restore, myself included. I got rolled back a week, and that doesn't bother me, I'm more concerned about whether it's okay to proceed playing with it as it is or if there's going to be a rollback again without a request. It seems like a lot of people are wondering the same thing.

I can say with recruits, I have had one spawn way before the patches. Around the time the game started, the evil twin appeared right after I had a network disconnection error. So I had my friend recruit them.
My second one is hirable, or at least tagged as such I didn't try clicking on them to see if I could open their inventory or not. They better be paying rent because at this point they are undocumented.

I started a second character Saturday morning when this happened, and went from 0 to almost The Watch by Saturday evening. I just started moving all of my stuff from the affected realm to the other character via a friend's respite.
they are just lucky. AFAIK only a small portion of players was affected after all. From the infos we got about 300people have the issue, 4-8k people were playing, so hitting a streamer was very unlikely I guess.

I didn't get a notification but I logged in to check on Saturday at around 11pm MT (filled out the form around 1pm MT) and my base was restored, it was about a week old save though so had to rebuild most things, had most of the materials on hand to at least do that, the only thing that's taking longer is the excellent benches I had

I lost a crap ton as well because most of my progression happened during the week that I got rolled back. I'm seriously considering a second account anyways and may just make that a landing pad for cases such as this. The only thing I'm afraid of is a second rollback without warning. I'm one of those week rollback people and I'm good with that.
The team is working hard to get everything back for people, and quite a few have gotten it back. However there's some who had it happen a second time, and they're working on it. Let em cook

My situation may or may not be unique I'm not claiming either, but I do develop in a couple of other popular games myself and I'm well aware of the potential for a patch or an update requiring months of rework. For me, it's far easier to introduce solutions that work for me without creating additional work for someone else instead of just doing nothing.
I used to do site work for commercial websites then worked with EA [don't say it I was a contractor] Where is the test server? Or do they have one? A lot of this could have been dealt with ahead of time.
Just going to throw this out there, I'm seeing a lot of comments going through this thread that scream to me, "I have no idea what it means to be part of EARLY ACCESS". This stuff is going to happen. This is just the first time. It is bound to happen more in the future. It's part of early access, that whole warning at the beginning that we all see when we launch the game. There will be bugs, issues, disconnects. It's something we have to accept as part of the dev process. I am not posting this to be rude in any way, people just need to be more understanding of this fact. It's not a complete 1.0 release and shoudn't be treated as such. If, at the end of all this, your stuff is truly gone...then it's gone, restart and rebuild. I lost 12 hours of progress and am already way past where I was before.
This is early access. The possibility for this sort of thing happen is well established and noted up front when you decide to buy into the game. I'm not being snarky, I'm being realistic. What you're asking for is test servers of the test server which technically, this kind of is already. I knew that coming in the door.
so... what are those of us who lost their base a second time supposed to do? what do they need from us? are we to fill out the form again? there is no space available to type that this is a repeat request and our base is gone for the second time. How can we possibly help them to more easily help us?
Okay so I checked in with the team, they're about 50% through submissions and are working through ones from Saturday night (Mountain Time)
I have been on both sides of production but a lot of this screams of incompetence. But most Early Access you usually do not pay for, or at least didn't use to, but I guess times change with how things are done [or not]

No, people's expectations have changed. They are very clear up front about what Early Access means in respect to this game. You wouldn't want to come up to my customer service desk and throw a word like incompetent out at someone who is trying to explain and help a lot of people all at the same time.

the last form I filled out was last night after the maintenance. I played Early Sunday morning, going to various desert realms with no problem. used the pocket watch to return to respite, no problem. ( this was after I had had my base restored on SAT) after I went to a singular forest realm and used the pocket watch to return to my respite. I was put in a respite that was the same map, but the POIs were moved to different locations. that was about 7:20 AM (ESDT) on Sunday. I had submitted a form at that time.
I know you weren't asking me, but I thought maybe any data is good data. So I had lost my realm and home and everything about 24hours ago and then filled out the form (once) and stayed off the game until a few hours ago today. I checked and the rollback was successful. I just checked again and everything is still there.
I am in the abeyance forest.

definite gap, the work i did saturday to expand base is gone, but chara pprogress from vault i cleared is in my invetory and mats id used for base are back in the chests

It was yes, also lost base on friday night after patch, it was restored again friday night/sat morning at some point, then lost again sunday before the patch

They are just clearing up the remaining few bases that were lost, the issue itself appears to no longer be occurring
Just to add, I have played on my alt today, didn't have any issues except a few travel errors
@meager gazelle - I don't know if this is useful or not, but I started noticing wonkiness towards the end of the week when I started building close to and practically on top of my cairn. After the rollback, I moved my cairn away from my building as well as removed the chests I had placed at its feet and now when I return to the respite I'm not in random places anymore. It's almost like it was trying to port me in to an invalid location before perhaps. I had chests placed at the foot of the cairn and miscellaneous other things within a couple of steps of it.
Not sure if its helpful, but this is exactly what happened yesterday when I lost the base respite:

Went to the watch, did 3 vault runs, did travel to respite, back in some random forest abeyance realm with a new respite in the middle of nowhere.
@meager gazelle We had our base vanish around 7 am EST yesterday. We submitted forms and our base never returned. After patch we submitted forms again still nothing. Then after it was said they were calling it for the night and that another batch had been put out I resubmitted again. This base was home to 5 people with all of our stuff stored there. Should I be safe to log in and check for my base to be back or should I continue waiting?

It makes sense to me anyways, I normally don't like clutter but I got lazy for efficiency sake and it was after that point that I started noticing that it was dropping me in random places.
@meager gazelleI was part of the original group who lost their realm before the patch. My realm seemed fixed Sunday morning until I played with a friend and it crashed again and vanished my realm for a 2nd time. I checked just now and it's still gone. I did send inflexion a direct bug report Sunday and resubmitted a roll back of the realm as I wanted to make sure they didn't think it was a duplicate request. Absolutely okay continuing to wait to assure it gets ironed out as best as possible. Prefer to lose 24 hours as opposed to over 100. Just want to make sure those of us with a instance of a 2nd base disappearance occurrence don't get missed.
Yeah, same. I had it outside the base at first and then my recruit would be in the wall and 'stuck' which is weird as they can usually follow you anywhere. So I moved inside to the 2nd story and that is when I noticed being dropped in random places and sometimes a section of wall or roof would be just gone....

I visited a friends realm and followed him through a portal on sunday morning, when i returned to my realm my base was gone and the realm had been reset. i filled in the form on the google docs site.
but now its monday evening and my real is still not restored. how long do you normally have to wait for someone to roll back my realm to a previous backup ?

You would need dedicated customer service employees dealing with multiple and sometimes hostile communications, if they were providing a live service perhaps but I don't think nightingale really falls into that category, its not an MMO, with monthly payments etc. This base issue is likely to be very much a rare occurrence too so a temp form will suffice imo π
Also we should have been notified at least once that there had been a rollback correct? I dont think any of us have received anything stated that our requests were even attempted. I put my discord on one of the requests and tried emails for the others but havent recieved a single notification.

My realm was restored, which is great. I lost some of the upgrades and builds I did, which I don't really mind.
But I can't remember if it also effected the collected Materials i gathered before i encountered the issue.

I've no idea what they restored. I LOST the one I was moving to. (Abeyance/Swamp). My respite was (Abeyance/Forest/RESPITE) and was unaffected. I did not then nor do I now have issue with (A/F/R). However (A/S) is gone completely, including the minor card. Full reset. I don't know what, if anything was affected by what they tried to roll back for me. This is why i'm sharing all I can in case someone else had the same issue. that and I'd like to know when it's safe for me to continue forward.

I ran a business for years and found first come first serve did not bother people and people seeing that we were working and communicating went a very long way in customer relations

48 hours for a game is nothing, try 2 weeks to get a tarp on your roof after a storm.

So I did get my instance restored Saturday and everything has been working fine within my Abeyance realm - I've taken this as an excuse to overhaul my base. Is it safe to assume that the biggest rollback required won't be more than 24 hours?
Like if I spend the next week even building out my base, I'm not sitting on a "time bomb" type issue that will go off the next time I jump realms and it will require over a week of rollback?

I submitted my request Saturday (5pm est) before the patch. It was never fixed so I resubmitted yesterday, as I was told here. However I'm not sure if my ID starts with an O or 0. After looking at it the second time I think it is a letter but I really can't tell.

As far as we're aware, we haven't seen any new occurances of this happening since yesterday's emergency patch. Restoring people's Realms that were lost before that is still a WIP and we're working on an overall update for everyone

When was the emergency patch applied ? I visited a friends realm on saturday, returned to my realm, no issue. i ran lots of solo quests and worked on that all night, slept like 4 hours, went into a friends realm in the morning, joined him to a quest to fight some enemies in his swamp base realm, then i got some of his older weapons, we went to fight a big tree in a gloom realm. he quit the game when done, i went back to my realm using the map. and when i returned, i ended up on another seed/realm, not mine or my friends. i tried clicking on the return to realm or what its called, and it put me back in the same place on the new map.
i then found the google drive form link on steam and applied on sunday around noon central european time.
@meager gazelle can you confirm that my entry was registered ? I don't mind waiting a few days. I understand you are very busy. Scrolling back through the chat I see Shadow posted a screenshot last night (16 hours ago or so, 9:49 pm EDT) of his character Ayami, and the ID has both a O (letter) and 0 (number) in it
The numbers are slightly lower aligned than letters
Emergency patch was around 4pm MT yesterday (you can see the time in #game-announcements) I can confirm I can see your submission but for my understanding, your Respite Realm was your own Abeyance Realm and not your friend's Realm?

@meager gazelle i ended up in a completely different realm, one that was not mine nor my friends. we both double checked and the map layout was completely different.
we both had our home bases in the swap biome. at different place on the map.
but in the new one i ended up at, none of our bases where there.
my friends base was left intact though, he could return to his with no issue.
but we had separate bases on separate seeds. they were not part of the same map. we would not see each others bases without joining a party session. so if you restore mine, it will not affect his, as we are on separate maps.

I've been working on a new character while my main one is still in limbo. When I logged in to check if it had been fixed, it hadn't as of yet. My respite area showed in a totally different place than where I made my original base in a forest realm.

At this time we are prioritizing restoring Respite Abeyance Realms and are investigating further Realm rollbacks for the future.
What a bummer as I was mid move so my NON prioritized realm which had a good portion of my stuff, leaves me dangling, unable to play.
If your abeyance base is restored then you would have access to your non abeyance realms again? Not quite understanding what you mean tho

It sounds like your Respite Realm was changed or reset to your friend's Realm. Since your Respite is pointing to your friend's Realm, a reset request won't work. As it needs different investigation, could you get a screenshot of your F2 debug screen and send it to a support ticket here?

So I'm good with the issue, it's EA, it happens. I've started building my third attempt, just trying to make sure that we believe the baseline issue has been resolved, or that whatever the issue was has been at least hopefully resolved. π

We played with several people on our base of op realm that we await restoration for, we found out quickly the Cairne only allowed 1 of us to hold respite there, so we had a cairne per person for each to return. having it assign you to another realm is definitely another thing from the regular base disappearance
@meager gazelle are all lost realms who submitted forms being restored shortly or are you batching up? Sorry if this has been asked - just curious how we might know if and when ours would be restored

It should be applied to everyone who submit a request before 4pm MT as long as:
- The character ID was correct
- The server was not active at the time of the patch request (please note servers are active for up to 10 minutes after the last person has logged out)
We'll let folks know when to validate if the last wave worked, and if not, how to make sure another attempt is made

The request Realm/character must have been inactive for at least 10 minutes before 5:00pm MT (your local time <t:1710198000:f>) for the latest batch to apply.
Once we have confirmation that the process is complete, we'll ask people to log in and see if their Realm was correctly rolled back

I'm a bit concerned that I've lost it perm because I have logged in a few times since then to see if there was a fix. My email however is not the same as the one I use here. Well I wonder about mine. My situation is odd, my first character got deleted because it used to default to "delete " when you logged out to log back in, and 2 taps later he was gone, but his realm card my friend had still brought us to the realm, I dropped my new characters respite and deleted his. Then it was mine again, bow my friend and I share the zone, he was the one who submitted the ticket though
I had waited to send the ticket toll I saw if he was in too, but he beat me to the submit button
The original owned of the Realm shouldn't matter, the current checks are just looking as Realms set at the player's current Respite Realm. So if you both share a Respite, it should be included in the latest batch

Negative on the 24hr restore. It is still at the point from over a week ago. I had played over the weekend to try to recoup my base on other realms and was in and out of Abeyance realm to check for restores and travel to other realms.
Yes, please remain logged out and if you share your Respite please ask them to not login to avoid rolling back over any progress you make today and also for the greatest chance of any manual attempts to go through

@meager gazelle abeyance world was not rolled back, still no respite. My first request for a reset was 37 minutes after the first post on x about it, and then I did another request after the last server maintenance.
Idk if it's even worth having your world rolled back, you essentially lose over a week of progress
yeah, I think it's too late regardless, the friends I was playing with have moved on in the two days they were told they stay off their characters.

Just had a weird situation where my world didn't reset but my respite point stopped working and it defaulted me back to the world's original spawn point and I had to rebuild the original.

@meager gazelle Rollback is still in an incomplete state. To recap - i moved my respite from my forest abeyance to a swamp abeyance saturday 3/9. I moved all materials, including quest items, to the new abeyance storage, switched the respite point to the new realm, and tested it. I then went to old abeyance and deconned any extra storage / refinement stations etc. Approximately 20 minutes after that, i created a portal to one of the hunt realms (desert I think), but the game hung while porting and after ~4 minutes i force closed. It took about 10 minutes before I could log back in and it was at that point, the swamp abeyance was cleared (forest was unaffected as it was no longer my respite).
Submitted form soon after it was posted. The swamp abeyance is reset to Friday night, but the forest one is not so all of the gear I had moved no longer exists in either realm. Notably, the game was also very confused where my respite point was when i logged in as well (it is currently set back to the swamp house). Service ticket is also updated.
@meager gazelle I submitted my original rollback request around 11 pm CT on Mar 9th.
During the same play session on Mar 9th, my forest Abeyance was lost and reset to an entirely new seed with the default respite location. I had been rearranging my base prior to going to another one of my realms. while I was out I joined some friends on one of their realms farming essence. We decided to move to a new realm to continue farming but before continuing on I clicked and travelled to my respite from the map. Upon loading in I was surprised and disoriented that I was not at my base.

Quick question to everyone that's had disappearing bases. Have you tried traveling to one extreme of your realm away from where your things were, waiting a bit, and then going back via carn or running? I've been experimenting with moving things large distances, making them disappear, etc. I can manage to make some things disappear and re-appear at this point when I want, but not sure if its related to the disappearing bases. Reloading the realm was not enough to make things re-appear, but traveling from one extreme to another made things re-appear.
Personally, for me it's like i reset the instance, the traders and POIs are in different place, it's a different instance

My home realm hasn't been rolled back either. I filled out the form on the 10th ~3pm MT. I got 3 network errors today on login, on the 4th try I loaded in into the empty home realm.

I did not get my realm respite back(Eretria#1034 I made a ticket, two rollback requests March 9th at 10pm and 11th at about 9am), but it is okay. I decided to rebuild it and so long as it doesn't happen again. I am content with just taking the loss. Thank you to your team for attempting to help. It is devastating all the tier 3 materials and stuff gone, but I just pretend the Fade found my last two and now I have to rebuild. It is not easy designing a game and it is Early Access. I am still heartbroken, but I understand things happen. Focus on the other realmwalkers. I am fine I found a lovely new spot to rebuild in extreme abeyance. Appreciate you

Reading through these posts, I'm led to wonder if I should fill out another form to request restoration for my respite realm/location. It has been about two days since I lost the location (found myself in a brand new one after traveling to respite). I don't want to pester, but it is unclear whether a new request is needed. I haven't heard via email or discord that the first one was received, but I can imagine there may be a large number they are working through. Yeah we did our first one before the patch, then another after the patch, the realm vanished like thursday afternoon. So about 4 days now

After checking a second time I found that my realm has in fact been restored.
At first, I did not think it had been because I spawned in the original respite location where you spawn when you complete the tutorial.
That was a mistake of me to assume, as upon closer inspection, I found that my realm had in fact been restored.
I have deleted my original message about not having gotten my respite ream back as it is no longer valid.
PSA: do not post your F2 information on Discord - only send it to the devs through official submission forums. The Unique ID tied to your user name can be used to submit future realm rollback requests.
Did your map have familiar items from your original respite (were POI's like the different level (herbarium, swamp etc) marked "completed" , your realmic transmuter and personal portals appear on the map?) I didn't go look for my base to avoid having the game open to avoid interfering with any work, but perhaps it's worth looking for the base?
And map markers you had on the map, were they active or erased?
I first noticed it by opening the F2 menu, I wanted to screenshot the information so I didn't have to log in to get it again:
Looking at the screenshot of it, I noticed specifically it showed my Player Estate score as having a 3-digit number rather than 0 as you would expect if everything was gone, and that certain structures I had built showed as being present in the realm
I logged in again and looked at the map where sure enough it showed the presence of my base, and clicking on return to respite I was taken back to my very much restored base.
All custom markers were present on the map, Realms of Power do not show as completed, but I'm not sure if they ever did as I have everything that was lost
Something I would recommend everyone do is check your map and the F2 information to make sure things are still missing, don't just assume it's missing because you are not near your base.

When I F2 it gets screenshot automatically. It's in the app data, local, NWX, saved, bought folder.
Too bad, no joy. My estate score was 696, but no markers. And the sites of power are in different places on the map. I had a base very close to the astrolabe site of power, because it was in the middle of the map. In the new map, that site is located on an island in the extreme east. But it was worth checking out.

It would be nice if they could open a "Bank" in the Watch where you could store items for later retrieval once the respites are restored. That might let us do farming while waiting. Would also just be a nice feature - you wouldn't need to keep running back home to unload Jana meat - especially if you could draw items or access the bank from other realms....
Seems odd that those reset realms have such high counts, mines only 24 and I suspect that was caused by me building enough stations to craft some realm cards.
It makes me wonder if my realm is still "out there" but the return to respite function is just not linked to it. Wondering if I opened a forest abeyance realm from a portal if I would have a reopen option and be able to return to my respite realm that way....

I tried that, took me back to the same desert I'm stranded in. My original forest abeyance is still there just fine, with the abandoned wooden hut, but it's not my respite. Think that's why mine didn't get reset correctly. That old forest probably got reset instead.

Oh God - not happy hearing that the reset can go wrong. My respite is in a second abeyance forest realm, not the original.... I had the bright idea to move my original base to a higher level realm, then found out you can't make anything higher than abeyance a respite, so I moved back to a "new" abeyance realm to get different terrain, vistas etc. Really hoping that doesn't mean reset will be complicated...
Looking on the bright side - it really is a fun game. And the bugs (at least for me) have all been centered around moving from realm to realm. Haven't had problems with actually playing. Of course, loss of your respite realm does completely block your ability to play.... Feeling that pain.... I just really hope the issue is resolved such that it won't happen again after getting restored.

So, I no longer want my old realm since I ended up giving up, rebuilding and preferring the rebuild. Is there a way to opt out of getting the old realm back?
