Ayup! Looking for it to place around my house.
aaah, well it doesn't grow as sedge unfortunately as stated above it isn't an actual intended farmable material
yea thanks Glenn for checking in on this.
I like the look of it around my desert style house. Does well in taking up blank wall space and adding to empty corners.
That is true, I agree with you there, but since it doesn't grow as actual sedge you might as well use crude seeds because it looks the same as regular fibre when it grows š¦
Ahhh! Understood. Never tried growing the crude seeds. Thnx
More importantly. Is a Tomato a Fruit or Vegetable? š
Yes
A Fae answer if I ever heard one.
ummmm its a potato
Honest and truthful.
since the dawn of time man has wanted to answer the question is a tomato a fruit or a vegetable.
Think you are forgetting the age old question the egg or the chicken š
the egg or the chicken is an easy one, another creature evolved into what is now the chicken and laid it's first egg
Itās also likely not to have been asked prior to the 1500s
while you're "here" who might we be able to bug to get things like our link to a google docs spreadsheet with all the info about seeds and what grows, what doesn't etc for people to refer to pinned
Sedge and crude fiber only look similar because they are grass'. The Sedge is much larger and has some fiberous ends. On my way to check the forest gloom for Sedge seeds and will confirm if I locate any.
Discord mods do pins, itās probably easier to ask one of them for it
heck, I've gotten actual grass a few times and haven't even gotten into that
yeah I didn't know if they had those abilities
I don't appear to have permissions for that, might be best to ask a mod
I'm also not sure what the rules around that are though
awww no love for you. Thanks for trying though š
it would just be nice because we could point people towards the pin when they ask "hey, does X grow right?"
But I'm also nice and put the link on two of the sleekplan bug reports about plants because... details!
Yeah I know but if you find some and attempt to grow it and grow crude seeds right next to it you will notice....100% the same š
they only produce crude fibre. it's been tested by one of us who added info to the spreadsheet
Yeah I know >.> i've tested it as well and created a spreadsheet as well XD but chyklok is looking for aesthetics not for yield purposes
YAY for Finnster š Thank you
aaaahh I see
Yw, but just be aware I think these discussion posts can only have one pin, so if stuff gets moved around DM and Iāll repin the new post
I have done some major extensive testing on farming yields, between every type of realm, almost every minor card, as well as different difficulties now.
Tyvm š
that spreadsheet accepts comments. If you want to comment with any info on that sheet, one of three of us can publish the comment
I'm still putting together all the info but once I do i'll definitely be looking to someone else because although I say i've created a spreadsheet.....its more of just a list XD
well, take a look at that link and you'll see what we've started
My eyes don't actually do well looking at spreadsheets due to head trauma, so unfortunately any time I have to look at one I have to be ready for literal pain.
First image is Sedge. Second image is crude fiber.
Hard to see with the sky coloring, however, noticable size and ends.
hmmm are you in a desert realm? because once I found they didn't produce the proper material I stopped testing them and in my forest realm settings it looked like crude >.>
is it that usually everything's one color and it's hard to focus on them or is there anything that makes them easier to see? Also, if it would help save some discomfort you are more than welcome to message me with your list and I'll take care of it
Forest Aby
Was it pre-patch?
Its the lines, and how typically people tend to offset information on the page, my brain doesn't handle it well.
OOOH that one might have been pre patch, i've gone back and tested everything except those after the patch >.< that could be it.
well, I'm not 100% certain what you're meaning by offsetting the info so I'm not picturing it, but, I'm still more than happy to get the list from you then deal with the spreadsheet myself
take a look at that one its in another guide on here a friend of mine made it
the information isn't in a straight line so my brain tries to register it in an odd way and causes actual headaches.
oh dear lord... ouch
the one we've got is just good ol' normal cells
Yeah i'm adding a few comments XD
We mods can't actually do anything on the seek plan, as we're not moderating it ..
your image of sedge looks a lot like the tier fibre plants. Those are able to be planted and do grow as well if that's the look you're going for
I'm not sure what the community guides permissions are like but could someone post it there for easy reference?
huh? its already been pinned
So no luck finding Sedge in the Forest Gloom (maybe bad luck). I tried harvesting the Sedge I had, since it seems like most of the testing was done prior to the patch. The Sedge is still giving only crude fiber and no sedge seeds were obtained from the mortar. If anyone knows where to get Sedge seeds I would be grateful for the info. During my Forest Gloom 140 run I did find a TON of Spyrys Mushrooms - should a location be added to the spreadsheet. šš»
Thank you for your hard work!!!
Okay i'll keep my eyes out incase I run into them again thanks for the info
Thnx for your time and efforts!
I was totally wrong about the tier fibres sharing the same look. To much farming it's all running together lol. But if you're looking to add a splash of color to your decor these are the tier desert fibres T1-T5 from left to right.
that pinned doc on google docs is really good
Bound Fibers that drop from enemies don't grow currently. Though that may be intended! "Advanced Bound Fiber" and "Bound Bristle"
And everybody has permissions to comment on a cell and when one of the three of us who can edit it gets to it we can update information with that comment
i made some comments in there
Gonna bet all fibres that are drop-related arenāt intended to be farmable
that would be a good bet
Watering needed bug still persist even in tempest minor card
it also applies to rain barrels if you put them down and tempest is started before the rain barrel is placed down
I just placed all pots in dry desert before tempest card activation and no luck. Bug persists
I have this bug also but its not on every pot.... I'm not sure the culprit. Maybe placment/position of the pot....dunno xD
I believe this has been mentioned in an earlier convo and Glenn did mention they took notes from this channel so I'm sure they'll look into it š
Left to right: Swamp Fibre T1, T2, T3, T4 and T5. Still haven't found anymore sedge seeds, however, the Sedge that I have use the same skin as the Swamp Fibre but with a different color scheme. Sedge has light green blades with a yellow stripe the length of each and the "cat tail" at the end of the longer ones are light brown in color (a more traditional looking saw grass).
The colors of t3 and t4 are my faves. I'm using a lot of the desert Fibre for decoration around mine
During my jaunt through a Herb. Swamp 27 I found two different Oats. The one with the "N" icon stamp was an upright gatherable grain sack while the one with the fibre icon was the oat you gather by hand near buildings. I made seed from the "Vegetable" to test if I could then make flour from it since the "fibre" version reportedly does not.. when I harvested the "vegetable" oat it came back as the plant fibre version (non-usable for flour). I will try and gather 10 of the vegetable oat and see if those will grind into flour.
Have you tried making seeds for them? And if you found if they both grow or if one does and the other doesn't
Sorry if this has been answered already, tried searching in Discord without finding the answer. Do you get more back from using a plantbox than a pot?
No difference when people were looking into it
Hmm, considering the difference in size, not much point is using the box then
There is a lot of this sort of thing when it comes to items that are gathered versus ālootedā. Like you may have noticed that youāll pick up bones and food offerings that say things like āTier 1 Wolf Bonesā but when killing and gathering from wolves gives āTier 1 Predator Bonesā.
It seems obvious theyāve made a bunch of changes to materials to streamline things a bit but havenāt updated the lootable objects out in the world so youāre finding old versions of those materials.
that's a bit puzzling since so much of the realms are procgen'd. I guess they probably have like prefabs or whatever for the POIs and other set pieces, which would still need manual touch-ups.
I looted some hemp seeds last night that makes me sad theyāre never going to do anything, I hope they clean up the loot tables with the next pass so there arenāt these dead ends we know arenāt going anywhere.
There was hemp, in game, for quite awhile. What @Dastion mentioned above.. it's a bullseye.
someone mentioned the gloom realm did the same buff the herbarium realm did...faster grow speed I believe. Is this correct? It would save on having to switch out a tempest card as it seems to always rain in gloom
Also wondering if there is a food guide listing what foods you should focus on during different stages of the game
It is far easier to water the plant box with a watering can.
And for those who aren't aware of its existence, there is a seed spreadsheet that shows if we know something grows or or if it has issues even though it does grow. It is pinned here. It doesn't have everything on it because we don't have everything to plant, like vegetable (oats)
so, if something isn't on that list and you've tried to grow it, please feel free to comment on a cell (empty for something that isn't there) and we'll get to adding that info in
I think I got two Vegetable (oats). I'll check it out now.
I don't get this issue. Ignore the water, it's just visual nonsense. Just aim the centre reticule at the soil in the pot or plot.
2 Vegetable (Oats) > 6 Seed (Oats) > 15 Plant Fiber (Oats) ... not processable to flour
Ok, thank you
I haven't really had much issue with it, although I can still do the farm plots faster. I've seen a number of people complaining about having problems with it, though.
any minor cards at play?
and, wait... vegitable oats produced plant fibre oats?
man, there's all sorts of fun going on there
Farm card on Asc Hunt Forest. I think turning Vegetable (Oats) to seeds puts them in the Plant Fiber (Oats) loop. Forgot to check if they stack though.
can anyone answer this question?
Iām curious so Iām going to boot up the game so I can look at the card for you
gloom vs herb. I didn't hang around long enough to find out if it was going to stop raining and remove "Soggy"
Thanks. I havenāt been in a gloom realm where it ever stopped raining. Iām just not sure if the realm does the same as herbarium as was mentioned
it looks like growth rate is capped from all these sources anyway, if you could get an augment that added an extra 25% it should be equivalent with nearly constant rain. Might save on extra cards in the long run.
Thanks
I have tried to find Anything regarding issues with growing wheat and oats but donāt see anyone mentioning this⦠these still wonāt grow for me. Anyone else?
I havenāt had that issue, I would delete your pots and replant
Wheat works growing and making flour. Oats grow but cannot be used to make flour. It has been discussed at length. There is a google spreadsheet (possibly in pinned) that is being worked on.
Thank you! Iāve tried that⦠still nothing
Wheat was growing pre-patch which is the strange thing.
It is pinned. Got Finnster to do it for us
@fallow wolf going to try the fibers that still show unknows, but I wanted to double check on T5 swamp fiber because it says unknown but there are notes on it
also @analog crest
Awesome! thank you!
I did the research on the T5 fibres. The notes are my findings. They all 3 grow. They double as pretty foilage for base decor ā¤ļø
Thank you, that's why I found it weird that it showed unknown
that would be me forgetting to change the dropdown
Rose was the one to start it. I just happened to have gotten done attempting to grow a ton of things when I got home. So when she put it up for people to comment I just started commenting like crazy so she gave me the ability to edit lol
I've been lurking on this thread for a while, and I want to say the spreadsheet is brilliant! Super helpful, thank you to @analog crest, @fallow wolf, @maiden imp and all who have been contributing to it. I'd like to help as well - what sort of data are needed for it?
On that note, may I suggest an additional tab or section on the Changelog tab with a list of what additional data/testing is needed?
@maiden imp too š just so she can get credit where credit is due.
honestly, we're just adding any info people are giving us. I mean, this is how wikis start. Someone has to start collecting. I mean, anything from "hey this thing grows better in a Farm realm than a Greenhouse one" to links to images of what they look like are handy
Gotcha. I'm just starting out with the farming venture, but I'll try to add data as I come across it.
I actually haven't checked but....is there a wiki for Nightingale yet? I've been avoiding it while exploring things for the first time.
because we can put images in there so we could maybe start a tab for what things look like. if there's a link I could see how the image could be gracefully added.
Yes, like those pics of the T1-T5 plants that several users posted. Those would be excellent for the wiki as well.
it does look like one can insert images into cells so, I'll just make a tab where I can have image links and later work on saving those images to insert into cells
Are you wanting images of plants for the spreadsheet?
sure, why not. I know people have been posting them. May as well add it in here
I'm doing some more tier fibre tests this evening. I'll grab screenshots of each individual one instead of the rainbow lineups.
sweet, thanks
Thereās also #1211073684140462190
yeah... I still want to have it in one place rather than scrolling through a messy thread. when I'm not out of spoons I may dig through that to save some
Lol
really, I have a hard time figuring out what's what. at a minimum I can figure out the links to each of the images first and put them there then later I can just save the images and insert them properly
The number differences between tempest card, farm card, and greenhouse card for the fibre tests are interesting.
ohhh can't wait to hear about it
I didn't do the tempest card. Saw someone else did. Was just comparing the number differences and am kinda gobsmacked. Greenhouse for fibre and wheat. Feels like the farm card should do better because these are things that farmers grow on fields and not in greenhouses which I find wild but interesting
I did that test, honestly was just looking more for whether it grew or not, but thought I'd just put the results the just in case š
yeah, the one thing I did know is that greenhouse is better for the wheat, oats, and other fiber looking things
I'm working on swamp fibres currently. Having trouble getting a good screenshot since the plant is so frikken tall though
It is strange that itās exactly opposite to how it really works
man, I can't wait until I have my entire plant box grid together so I can have a consistent number of plants I'm planting each time. Because, dang it, everyone who keeps saying that waiting on wheat is a myth... I consistently get more 1 and 2 harvests off of harvesting right away rather than going fishing for maybe 10-15 min, after which I skew much more to the 4 and 6 harvests
and I'm now planting a little over 100 so it's not like oh just some weird rng that magically happens on 20 plots
I've encountered this wait time as well. I usually wander off to make more seeds while I wait.
omg, thank you. to everyone who keeps saying "it's a myth" their idea of "waiting" is . . . 5 min tops
The planter boxes are so big but only take a single seed.....not worth building when you can just place pots.. odd as the display image item visual you get in the building menu shows 4 plants per box....once that happens they'll be worth it
can I not enjoy how it looks like I have some mega farm
not like everyone is trying to min/max every inch of space
I just upgraded my farm to 60 plots. It was previously 25. My swamp realm herb farm is still at 25 though. Unfortunately my herb/forest realm has gathered the attention of two blue glowy bois now and sometimes they just sit on either side of my farm and howl all night long. Their regrowth does not work for farming. A gal can dream.
lol. I'm not even done doing all my boxes. the spot I made seems to be a good size for 16x16
I'm right next to the portal for both realms so far. The swamp one looks like a fishing pier and I've built tiered wood foundations all the way down to the water and added the street lamp posts for lighting. Looks pretty at night
wanna see what I've got going?
yes!
I still need to make some sort of walkway and covered bridge over a couple bits of water
are you on right now?
yeah I am
sent you a msg
I would love to see both of your farms ^_^
Oh i get it. They look cool as...but are a waste of space as they currently are
waste of space... unless you want it to use that space
this my farm
8x30
so 240 pots i tihnk
it takes quite a bit of time for the realm to load in
Does this not take literally forever to plant/water? Good lord š„²
also, Rose may have stumbled across why some of y'all don't get more wheat when waiting.
Stuff she planted in a pot . . no difference OR lower when waiting.
In a plant box.. higher when waiting
and for the record, she was on the side of thinking I was just running into crazy coincidences. Then she harvested a bunch of pots and boxes after having been out for a while and noticed a distinct difference
so she's going to do more testing
I like the plant boxes personally because it gives it a more farming feel for me. I never really thought about pots vs boxes might also cause some kind of number variance while testing.
We were talking about the building capacity earlier tonight. Do the pots and boxes both have the same count towards capacity?
Everything is supposed to count as one thing towards capacity. Different items are not weighted differently. What I ran into was a bug of epic proportions
My farms aren't really anything special. Just a bunch of boxes near the portal. I used stone foundation for the forest farm and wood foundation for the swamp farm. Used the wood foundation all the way down to the waters edge so at some point I can fish while waiting on wheat. I haven't made any farms in the desert yet, but I want to. Especially after seeing all the pretty things tonight!
In picture 2, how much patience did you have to get your planter boxes lined up like that š®
I just crouch and move from one side to the other slowly. Most of the time it works out but sometimes it doesn't and one ends up jetting out. Of course the follower gets in the way all the time.
well, the forest and swamp fibre pictures that were offered up are now actually in that sheet as well
does the charm of bounty stack up to 4 only or more?
My impression was that charms don't stack.
I did a test with other types of charms that would be easy to visually track when stacking, and none of them stacked. So my assumption is that they don't stack
is there a reason to do farms in multiple realms?
from my experience they do stack while gathering i used a card so got essences more and i was getting 4 a time straight to inventory with multiple charms on .... dont know if that is normal with that card though lol but i do feel like i was getting more fibre and sticks than just 1 bounty i had on previously
Normal for me in a herbarium realm and one charm of bounty.
I have a farm card on my big farm so it's my seed production spot. I have greenhouse on the other. It's so I don't have to swap cards constantly. Now I only swap to tempest to refill rain barrels.
this is exactly what I have
Yeah I get the cardsā¦one for better harvest yields and one for better seed yields. Just looked like your pics were plots on different realms? So didnāt understand the need for plots on more than the harvest yields
How do the rain barrels work?
when it rains they fill with water
Rain will fill them with water and you can fill your watering can from them
Some crops do better yields with the greenhouse card like Fibre and Wheat and Oats. Others yield more with the farm card. Potato, Tomato. I can plant and water separate crops on each realm then go out and gather for a while. Plus a change of scenery is nice too
Ah. Thanks
I'll prob make a desert farm with tempest for crops that have a set harvest amount like berries and mushrooms eventually. I need to actually play the game some more to unlock more blueprints and gather rocks/wood to build.
Oooo I think i got that the other day.
Then got stuck at the watch
About to login and see if I can leave lol
I wonder if they intended all this multiple realm building. Seems a little time intensive to do all the loading screens
only somewhat-groundless speculation that the loading screens are a byproduct of doing server instancing and autoscaling to keep their expenses down
I get the card aspect was an intention. And that everything seems to not be working so great. But all the complicated aspects of geez everything seems to be a lot
i.e. they almost certainly don't keep all N realms for a given player open on the server side, just the one they're sitting in, and they shut it down altogether when the player(s) log out. the delay is for whatever VMs, Pods, containers, or whatever to spool up and load the realm's data from cold storage before letting you connect.
No I wouldnāt expect that. That would be way too much for their servers
I just donāt find the idea of having to have 10 bases appealing.
no, me neither.
Iāve seen people talk of having a realm to cook because thereās a buff if you use provisioner
And then multiple realms for farming
And then Iāve seen someone say fishing is good so you need a realm to fish. Lol
You can do all of that in one realm if you prefer. Swapping minor cards is cheap and the cooking buff in provisioner isnāt huge nor is the extra growth rate in herbarium. In fact you could probably set aside a single Provisioner realm for cooking, farming, and fishing your preferred fish.
but how will we min-max to the max š
10 is a bit extreme unless you just really plan to hit the building limit in multiple zones for Farming - which is obnoxious.
10 was an exaggeration
But right now, itās not possible to get everything you need in one realm. Building limit, building bug, augmentations needed, amount of plots needed just to get a decent crop
If you play with others that adds another aspect of building. Because most people donāt really want to share the ENTIRE build. They want something of their own
in my opinion I like to use the different building types you get throughout the game and want to make multiple bases š trying to unlock all available blueprints first though
that said, idk how many bases I'll make lol
Farming in this game isnāt like others where you plant, wait awhile in game for stuff to grow, collect, repeat etc. itās pretty quick and youāre basically doing an activity until you have what you need.
Think of it like realm hopping to a desert to get Salt. Itās more an excuse to use the portal system and gather materials for refinement than a building a whole new base. My āfarmā is just a bunch of plant boxes, a realm transmutter, mortar bench, fire, and bedroll. More and more outpost than a base.
don't think 10 though
Lol. 10 really was me exaggerating haha
I imagined, but just wanted to point out that even I don't think I'll make 10 š
Yes but it was an exaggeration to make the system seem far worse than it is.
Lol
I did try to see if you could have perma rain with Greenhouse or Farm in Gloom, and noticed you couldn't (I imagined someone alrady had tested it)
Not really my intention
Ah. Thanks for checking kumajuhl
would have been nice to have both lol
Yeah. Would have saved a card swap
The need for extra bases will end up being because of the building cap limit. If you intend to play alone it likely won't hinder you much. I HATE playing alone. It's so much more fun to share with friends or family. I usually only cook in game for myself and hubs and one stove isn't enough sometimes. One mortar station is also not enough you need oil and spice for the good foods and they capped crafting to a stack.
I play alone atm (was playing with friend but he stopped) and I still have 2 of each refinement station š
I have 2 or 3 of some because of how long it takes to refine
making oil or broth or aromatics... oof
don't blame you lol
Don't forget grinding that wheat too
yeah don't remind me
oil though... really. put in 100 seeds and a half hour later . .
The stack limit is rough. If I have 600 seeds let me do it all at once.
I am excited for the queuing of extra tasks when it comes
(I have some oil going while I adventure lol)
yeah, I'll queue LOTS of oil
I have a chest full of seeds right now to make into oil but can't bring myself to stop planting lol
man.... now that I can properly grow sanguineberries . . . used obsidian glass and t5 forest fibre oil
If you grow fibre from a seed do you harvest by hand still?
depends on the fibre. if it is the tiered stuff you use the sickle
Neat - so that could be optimised with cards too
Greenhouse is currently the best for tiered fibre
this
ah, so just rolled into wheat/oats farm
We can not turn the luminous Fibre into seeds. I wanted to play with it.
how about hoe berries? guessing none of the special node materials
not that they're any use yet, but I assume they'll have useful properties eventually
listed on the sheet. does not create seeds. however dulcet lapis creates seeds but does not grow
apologies, I've just been reading the conversation here, I'll refer to the sheet before asking
and if it isn't in the sheet, someone hasn't tried and commented
you know what I don't get... shepherd's pie uses dough. it should be using mashed potatoes
ought to use both
I've never ever ever seen a shepherd's pie recipe use dough. That's pot pie
fair, does in my cuisine, where pot pies don't exist. does seem like it's more common without a pie crust.
yeah, pot pie and shepherd's pie are different things
one uses a dough crust and top... like a pie
the other uses no crust and mashed potato top
"In the 1850s the term was also used for a Scottish dish that contained a mutton and diced potato filling inside a pastry crust.[9]" I think the term's been used for a lot of things. Perhaps it's more specific where you're from, that's ok.
I feel like I need an entire floor of mortar stations and stoves
ohhh I think I'm going to love my beef wellington
lasts an hour
all thanks to actually being able to grow things
And if you play Feast minor card before eating beef Wellington, food effect will last for couple of hours š
mmm beef wellington that fills you up just like real life
hey guys. I try to finally get some wheat. I am running Herbalism extreme. Can this spawn there? I only found potatos so far
i tryed the lvl 20 forest and found massive amounts there
I would recommend a lvl 60/80 realm, that's usually where I found mine. At extreme I believe that's antiquarian/astrolabe
There is guaranteed wheat at Danuās hut in the Swamp Gloom. Should be enough to get some seeds going.
In all honesty, I would entirely remove the plot-by-pot farming system and add prefab greenhouse structures that don't require micromanaging
Nobody has time for this kind of thing
descend idea for a greenhouse system, but heres maybe a better varient. "greenhouse building set" with greenhouse plots, you'd still need to water them (in the 1800s there was no automation system like sprinklers) so you'd need to still water them but that could increase yield or speed up the growth
I put lots of pots, and once in a while they stop growing, so I delete pots and place again and Voila Voila Voila it works again..
ye the farming is still broken, i'd suggest them setting up a tester server and make a TS version of the game where people go on and test stuff (like r6s as a example) easiest was to get fast returns on issues in my opinion
Perhaps instead of "sprinklers" some sort of rain collection and distribution system
can't add to the spreadsheet. can some add that Plant fiber ( Hemp) and Plant fiber( Flax ) can grow but its bugged and produces plant fiber ( crude)
so unless i missed it in the spreadsheet....can someone add what realms are best for finding each item. Ive seen people ask, but the messages get so long to scroll through to find this. And it might be useful to have a tab detailing what cards/what realms are best to grow what crops
is there any particular material I should be making my watering can(s) out of? Looking at the ornate, it has inv capacity and magick power on it, does the magick power help with anything?
For those using separate realm/s for farming, make sure you have some seed saved in your home. The realm iād been using for farming disappeared last night and Iād not kept spare seeds for som crops so will have to build up them up again once I find them
Automaton pawn is the only material that affects it. It has +inventory capacity which make it hold more water
You canāt put spells on watering cans so Magick power doesnāt do anything
blueberry indoors in a planterbox with some close by lights should work? blueberries grow fine for me.
Same happened here too >.<
I added some more pictures to the spreadsheet. At some point I'll be crawling through the other conversation to see what I can pull out of it
the ones I added were thanks to @grizzled crow
One of my rooms disappeared too but thankfully it didn't have seeds in that one and I had already decided to keep backup seeds in my homeroom
I tested Papyrus seed and it yielded Crude Plant Fibre š«¤
forgot to add that comment into the google sheet, thanks for reminder š
Papyrus seeds wanst meant to be obtainable the dev said
Also: im buying Papyrus seeds if anyone has any to sell, just cuz i like the flower
I need the metal that gives me 20% health. The table says I need T1 Fablet Knight. Who gives that?
I killed an Automaton Knight, but he didn't drop it for me
Should probably ask in a different place since this is farming as in crop farms, but Knights are the big automatons in the desert... if it's T1 then you want to try anything below lvl 140 most likely? (I forget when T2 starts). You can also get mechanical wheels from T3 rooks and convert them to ingots, but I'm not sure if you're in T3 zones yet.
Where can I find this Fabled Knight? There are only the normal Automaton Knights running around in the desert
this is a farming plants section
I think you find them at site of power but they wont drop loot I think. When you kill a automaton that drops loot you have to farm it with mining pick.
Does the settler card also increase crop yields?
looks like it increases growth time.
I think the fabled one might be the super speedy one that flys/floats around the desert. Might try following the animal head on your mini-map. I can't remember for absolute certain though
except the oil. which was very confusing to me at first lol
hey, i need chamomile for an quest. On the difficulty extreme, where should i look for these? I can go up to Gloom right now. In the Guidebook it says 1 - ~150. But after looking for like 2 hrs in low Antiquarian Forest i guess its not around low level
#1211073684140462190 shows some info
You need to search around structures. Ones with fences, for example.
I've had luck in a hard herbarium swamp. if you have access to gloom swamps, Danu's hut has some (along with other flowers) growing in/around it
thank you guys
for Chamomille, if you haven't found it, I find it easy to find in swamps.
Usually they are found with Tulips under floating Ruins
Does the use of gertrude or pteridomania pots increase yield or make a difference compared to just using plant boxes?
From reading here nobody seems to have found a difference between them
So there is no noticeable difference. I plan on running some tests myself to see what I can find, but I will say the hitboxes for watering is what makes the smoler pots less...liked for me for farming. I use the pteridomania pots for decor flowers mostly. Also because the smaller the pot the weirder the plants look in them when grown. There's also the fact of the build limit with them, as (and this is not confirmed but if an inflexion team member would like to confirm or deny that would be amazing.) it seems that the larger plots count as more than one. Additionally since the already found structures count towards the build limit it really makes for some....difficult moments of having to look for and search for the pre-built chests and stuff so you can break them and then be done with them.
So after testing, can confirm this. Normal plants do not have different yields when in the simple pot, pteridomania or plant box. I do not have the other type to test with. HOWEVER, wheat does seem to have a bit of a higher yeild when waiting to harvest? Idk...sometimes I get more sometimes i get less.
Okay, this is driving me a little insane so I have to ask.
Has anyone here ever had a... disappearing potato seeds problem? š
Is your seeds chest marked for survivor use, and is your survivor planting them?
cuz no I've never had seeds disappear
Sadly no, no such simple explanation š
I will add that I've never 'misplaced' anything before... I'm super attentive, never use auto-fill while crafting, etc.
I just for the life of me can't explain wth happened to those seeds. I used one potato (tuber) to make a farm card, turned the others into seeds, then when I went to plant them... gone.
I had this happen one time, though for me it was onions. I will say that when I exited the game, verified the files (just cause i'm paranoid) and than got back into the game I didn't have the seeds but I had the onions I had turned into seeds back in the food to seeds chest I made.
This is a really long post and don't know if this has been mentioned, but when I started growing wheat I noticed the planter boxes overlap and still grow wheat while saving a lot of space.
Paranoia pays, it seems! Thank you for your insight, I'm going to try that myself!
Does anybody know what level realms are best for finding Carrots and Snapdragon? I know they are not yet growable but I would like to get some before they are
Found carrots on a medium forest provisioner š Now just need to find Snapdragon
carrots can be found on any forest card, snapdragons ive had seen in hunt and above
Is snapdragon definitely desert though? Glossary says it is but have read reports of it being on Forest though I think they might have been mistaking it for Delpinium
defintaly desert
its in deserts, if im not mistaken theres some pots with them near victors tower
cheers
hello there is anyone have a image of flax ?
From what I've seen, it comes from these little packs around the map randomly.
It also has the place holder of fiber in inventory.
@lilac cairn
are all crops working now? or are there some still bugged?
@lilac cairn Flax bags that yeild raw flax as a fibre are found in Ascended Antiquarian Swamps.
They look like this.
Farming Changes in 0.1.3:
- Carrots now yield the proper plant but are only yielding 1 carrot per harvest even with a Farm card played and a Charm of Bounty attached to one or more items used while harvesting. š¦
@vagrant bobcat - Flax does not currently yield flax but only yields CRUDE fibre.
- Delphinium now yields the proper item and does give 3 or so of itself when harvesting.
- Planting Snapdragon yields Marigolds. The visual plant still appears to be identical to the Delphinium
- Planting hemp seeds still yields Crude fibre.
Thx !
I'm getting 1-3 Carrots per harvest, with only Charm of Bounty (no realm bonuses. Swamp Abeyance + Settler Apogean card)
Is there another way to take out seeds when planted? Mine weren't working either and I ended up breaking down the plant box amd rebuilding/planting and got sunflowers.
You can use build mode to disassemble the boxes/planter pots and then get the seeds and then rebuild the box/planter pot. That is the only way to remove seeds from them.
You don't have to break/hit/destroy them, you can just use build mode.
thank you!
Just tested this at <t:1712301900:f> and out of 7 carrot seeds in simple plant pots, I got a total yield of 18 carrots. Forest / Herbarium realm, Farm card played. Charm of Bounty on Hat and Mystic Watering can (equipped when harvesting)
2nd test, same configuration except 100 seeds this time. Total yield was 203 carrots. So an average of 2.03 per seed (probably realistically an average of 2).
Any good gazpacho recipes after the patch? Ty so much for your beef wellington recipe iceheart. Just finished a batch of it.
guys all my carrot seeds and tomato seeds completely dissepeared? and i cant find them in any chests at my base or at my garden. where do i find them again? since well theres not really a map for that. and my hemp fiber seeds turn into normal plant fiber it still hasnt been fixed.
Report your loss as a bug.
Katari summoned me to update a certain spreadsheet
even if it isn't pinned here anymore
Coffee crops are harvestable with a sickle, it's faster (goes straight into inventory instead of dropping on the ground) and gives higher yield
I wouldn't consider it problematic anymore
feel free to add comments to it btw. š I haven't been playing much so I'm not exactly being good about catching those but since there's been an update I'll try to pay attention now
You can also @analog crest (me) and I will come running when not at work. After all I was the one who started the spreadsheet and will happily help to keep it updated even if hyperfixations have me on stardew valley for now
I wish everything was harvestable that way, honestly.
is rice an ingame plant? or was i just hallicinating lastnight?
