Quick tip: if you want to draw the back of the character, simply flip the front-facing character, erase all the lines within the main outline so you’re left with a silhouette of the character, then BAM!! Commission i did today: shark leviathan! (No it doesnt have much in common with leviathan anatomy but does share behavior and size) a very earth-sharkish creature the shark leviathan is a fast ambush predator that can sense the player from extensive distances if the player is injured

The really tricky part about turning a normal creature into a leviathan is 1. Making it look similar enough for people to see connections between them but mot see them as the same creature, 2. Making it look like it could actually be a creature that could exist (not just insanity), and 3. Making it look cool despite what i said previously

For example: For the rabbit ray leviathan, i used real life giant manta rays as a base for the design, and then put in signature parts of the rabbit ray. You will notice that like real manta rays, it does not have a neck, and the head is conjoined with the body, and it also has two mandibles in the front, along with a much longer wingspan.

Napalm spraying alien

They belong to a group of aliens called bladderbacks due to the large hydrogen bladders on their backs that they use to float in their planets thick atmosphere, this species is a large 15 foot long predator that uses two large glands on its upper body to spray a viscous napalm-like substance all over the backs of their prey, the napalm ignites soon after coming in contact with the air showering the unfortunate prey in fire heating them up until the hydrogen bladder explodes which almost instantly kills them, after the prey is dead the predator descends to the ground to feed on the remains.

Another redesigned bladderback, these ones are sapient and use an elongated arm-like radula to manipulate objects and craft tools

its a very large leviathan

its main way of moving are its legs

and i moves like bacteriophages and crawl on the sea bed

its an evolved form of floater

it can also suck its body back into the bulb which can protect it from attacks if nesscary (unlikely) it can also use this to compress the air in its bulb which allows it to float

it may also use this to go into the ground and be able to shoot out at hight speeds

and it has a high intelliegence (rivaling sea emperors) it can use large stones, sand or anything useful to launch it at things

and you may notice its bulb

which looks similar to a lightbulb

it stores electricty inside of it by using copper wires created by the minerals it consumes

it also works like the venti garden

you can go inside of it

but if you stay inside too long it will zap you and your power will turn off

you will then be destroyed

if you somehow make it inside the bulb

you can gather its eggs which is inside the bulb

you can use this to hatch one

if you pikc the hatched one up you can build a electricty rifle

it will shoot strong electricty bolts which deal insane damage

you can also kill the hatched leviathan to craft a anti-electricty membrane upgrade on your seamoth, prawn suit and cyclops

this prevents anything related to electricty doing things and you can collect electricity from the electriophage leviathan

Argonaut Leviathan
Threat Level: Extreme Threat - Avoid in all circumstances

The Argonaut Leviathan is an oddity amongst its Leviathan class brethren. Being only 30 meters long, it is nearly the smallest among all leviathans, and is the smallest carnivorous one.

1- Head Horn
The Argonaut Leviathan has a large, crimson horn on the top of its head. This is used to pierce prey and incapacitate them. Piercing capabilities exceed Alterra-class steel grading.

2. Powerful Fins
   This leviathan has some of the strongest fins of all aquatic creatures ever discovered. It is the fastest leviathan species ever recorded.

3. Shark Genome
   A striking similarity to Great White Sharks may mean the two species are linked in some way. This may be possible, because an Ancient Earth Blade was found in an alien facility on 4546B. Sharks may have been taken alongside other flora and fauna for experiments and left to evolve separately from their earthly counterparts.

4. Other Features
   Two pairs of eyes, with one smaller than the others. They are completely black. It has many fins, all of which have small, razor sharp knubs. Two small mandibles protrude from the underside to help birth young.

Just for clarification: stuff like renders and animations like that absolutely count as art, especially when theyre Subnautica themed. This room isn't only for hand drawn stuff. Art can cover many multimedia elements, including music (which someone posted the other day, and that's also fine!)

Yea, that's where cycles really shows

Rendering engines blender uses

Cycles gives much crisper results, but takes ages, and Eevee works much faster, but doesn't like certain things like volumetrics

Yea, cycles is raytraced, eevee uses a bit of guesswork and algorithms I think

Which is more than good enough for certain things
