Its impossible to complete the game without building a cyclops. You need a shield generator module to build the neptune rocket and said module can only be crafted using the cyclops’s upgrade fabricator.

Maybe allow a cyclops as long as you never drive it. That way you can at least access a necessary item

While still preserving the challenge of not having a massive portable base

I’ve made masks with paper mache and cardboard to. It works but it won’t last long depending on how and where you plan to wear it. EVA foam is more more comfortable and can be cut so size the same way.

The shape is looking great so far though.

Smoothing frayed edges on EVA foam is harder and getting fine details in on it requires tools like Dremmels

Depending on what you make the final mask out of, I think that a possible material you could make it from is either EVA foam or thin plastic moulded with a heat gun!

How did you make the cardboard bend so well

Cardboard has this kinda texture in the inside. It helps make perfect bends as they are already guided by these lines inside the cardboard

Making perfectly even bends. As oppose to when you bend it the opposite way it will make sloppy bends you don’t want

I found it pretty easy to smooth out edges and put details in Eva foam. I’m not sure how much dremal tools cost since we already had one, but they’re pretty easy to use in my experience. Just wear something over your mouth and nose so you don’t inhale the dust it creates. Kinda learned that the hard way
