I think the slow fall over made more of an impact

idk if it was in a movie or show, watching a really important character get cut in half like that, with the legs falling over really quickly could ruin the scene. Possibly adding a bit of humor to it

It's a long story, but basically - she was born to an empress under unfortunate circumstances that led to her mother never looking at her and her "father" actively taking out his aggression on her. So when a mysterious woman offered to take her somewhere happy and revoke those unfortunate memories, she leapt at the chance. Now that she's an adult, she's in a cult, and being used as a tool against that empire. the whole comic is about her breaking out of that brainwashing and finding her own path
