Did you get a satisfactory answer? There’s the horsepower upgrade, which offsets the slowdown for the first 3 modules added. Also, afterburner gives a small speed boost. Meatie made the chart

The vehicle slows down a lot more after you’ve added 3 modules, but the horsepower upgrade offsets this a lot

I softlocked myself once in Subnautica
I had built a base, and was adding another section on.
The whole platform area was powered and I was in freedom, so only oxygen, no hunger or thirst.
The section I was working on, was not joined yet to the main part of the base. It had a hatch, and I made the mistake of trying to move it from one place to another from the interior of the base.
As sometimes happens (rare, but it can occur) when deconstructing the hatch it didn’t give me all the materials back. In this particular instance, it didn’t give me back my piece of quartz, and I didn’t have any more pieces with me (I now am careful to keep extra with me when building lol).

So I was in effect, stuck inside this closed off section of base, with no way to build another hatch to exit. It was powered, so I had oxygen, but no way to die. It might’ve been possible to reload, I don’t remember if I had saved the game in that stuck state But I ended up using a command to build another hatch with nocost (could’ve warped out too, had a few options) but yeah, there’s a few ways you could potentially get softlocked I guess. BZ has made it more difficult to do though.
