If you dont know where ||crystal caves|| is, theres 2 deep places on the map. That one is what you need to complete the story. The other ends in an artifact so its handy to go down regardless

Counting or not counting the game crashing and me losing a bunch of progress multiple times? 😅 The time on the game I beat is 19 hours 45 minutes, plus at least 5-10 hours worth of lost time, plus my first save (that I stopped for a while and so restarted) which has 14 and a half hours. So total play time… at least 40-ish hours?

Shadows patrol a certain path. You also can hide behind certain I guess obstructions you could call them to prevent them from grabbing you (kind of like how if you stayed close to a wall or seafloor in Subnautica it significantly lowered the chances a reaper could grab you)

Wow, so I was reading things about the first game. While below zero has a total of like 11 aggressive leviathans (four chelis, four shadows, three void chelis) subnautica has twenty-five of just one type of leviathan alone. Reapers.

I would not call BZ "Easier." Frankly its not the Leviathans that make areas dangerous in Subnautica, its the smaller Carnivores like Bonesharks and Lava Lizards, and BZ has plenty of those. Levis are much less a problem than people yell about

The oxygen plants are a nice addition but if you don’t have good situational awareness, they might not always help you out. And the brute sharks can be relentless at times, not to mention those spike traps can be annoying (and my personal nemesis I hate the most, the [redacted] lilypaddler) I hate those SOOOO MUCH rooMadCry

Ya getting the rebreather is an adventure if you don't have a seatruck. And I think finding a Mobile Viechle bay to build one is an adventure too. I actually build a small base at 130 meters for o2 to get to the rebreather

Yeah I was actually about to say, even though you can find MVB fragments on the seafloor in some sections of twisty bridges, I’m willing to bet a fair number of people end up visiting the creepvine caves to get those fragments, which indeed is an adventure itself. Not only having sea monkeys steal from you, but also drowning risks, and getting lost and turned around. In Subnautica it’s straightforward to find MVB fragments in boxes in kelp forests. And while the seatruck building requirement aren’t complicated any more than seamoth, it just “feels” like a more daunting task I guess? Maybe because of the whole unlocking the MVB part and scanning the seatruck fragments which can be at deeper locations with more danger from creatures like the brutes vvShrug

As soon as I unlock seatruck I pin recipes for enameled glass and plasteel because I usually can get enough diamonds and lithium to make that first depth upgrade, so I can take seatruck down into deep twisty to get the modules scanned for it (and also, get more diamonds and lithium xD). So I put those sea monkeys to use for PROFIT😛

If you don’t have anything pinned, they will give you something from a selected list of that biome. A lot of the time it ends up being stuff like titanium, copper or quartz but it can vary slightly depending on where you are

Only becasue people dont see the Reaper swimming around ignoring them as the areas they like are cloudy and dont have much vision. If you pay attention the Reapers swim around a lot ignoring you. Usually people only notice Reapers when they are attacking you, wheras in BZ the waters are much clearer so you can see Chels more often and notice them not attacking you

Another thing a lot of people don’t know about I think, is the devs (when making BZ) took a LOT of player FEEDBACK into consideration. In other words, the way the game is designed (less horror, more interaction, the improvements like QoL etc) these are things the player community as a WHOLE left feedback about. Sometimes a discord will not reflect the “general playing public” accurately, not because of anything bad but people who spend a lot of time on official discords are often veteran players, or the extremely passionate diehard fans fonzie As such, they often want more difficult experiences, but that’s not what the average (maybe “casual” would be a word for it) player wants wesmart

On the lacking grab animation, I think it fits the zone well. It's a place you're not supposed to be and the lack of a grab/death animation just helps emphasize that. Though a void shadow would be terrifying.

If I had to guess, it was incidental damage? They don’t attack bases directly that I’m aware of. Maybe they were attacking the prawn but I didn’t think they would attack it unless it was being piloted

it works on vibration, so if you are walking and stop when you hear the rumble you probably wont be attacked. The Snowfox attracts them as its very vibranny. So theres advantages and disadvantages. There is a module you can find in the artic spires that makes them attack the snowfox less

this is a known bug, rare on PC, where the main loop that loads the world and fishes stop

in that state, you can't save, can't respawn, hard to quit even
