If you go on foot, your main enemy to prepare for is the hostile environment - you'll attract less interest from snow stalkers and ice worms, but they can be more dangerous if you do. If you use the snowfox, the environment is less of an issue as you're much faster, you can easily evade worms as long as you keep moving and don't go into their tunnels, but you'll attract every snow stalker for miles around. If you use the Prawn, the environment is a cinch, and snow stalkers generally leave you alone, but you'll attract more worms and they'll have an easier time of hitting you as you slowly stomp around.

If you have a ||spy Pengling|| you can walk it up and "use" it on a snow stalker to get fur. Alternatively you can find some fur in the caves they live in. Throwing a ||Preston's Plant fruit|| at a snow stalker will stop them attacking for a whole as well, if you have visited ||Margretes greenhouse||
