I just finished Subnautica Below Zero, I've mixed feeling about it.

On one hand I love the new biomes, the new vehicles and buildings..
On the other hand the story didn't really click for me, felt a bit rushed?

The 2 (3?) story lines are completely separated (looking into Sam Death, Margaret small part and ||Saving the Alien and leaving the planet||)
Why is there a meteor shower when you land?
Why there's no one from Alterra anymore on the planet? Why did they gave up on studying the virus?)
Feel like Sam Death was exactly what Alterra said, she was actually negligent?!?
Why to obtain the cure you just need a couple of materials in your fabricator? What about Enzime 42?
How did Margaret survive all those years? The story about killing a leviathan and drifting to sector zero is stretched but could be OK, but shouldn't the virus had killed her in all those years between the Degasi crash and the release of Enzime 42?
What happened to all the Alterra bases?

I've read there was an old story, and I think the beginning avalanche animation was cooler. I'm not sure if the story was better but I feel like the current one was just rushed, which is a bit sad cause otherwise the game is great.

Because the game is not made to be backwards compatible, certain things didn’t exist back in Early Access that do exist now and will most likely not play nicely together.

Most lead can be found in twisty bridges, thermal spires and ||cristal cavern||. Also some lead can be found on the floating lilypad islands. Yes, mineral detector or scanner room is best to find it quickly.

I’d imagine that the hail on 4546B are large. I’d say that due to how much water covers the surface. Since all sunlight directly hits the water, large amounts of heated water vapor would be entering the atmosphere. This means more clouds, and more rain. So just in general the water cycle could be larger. Large amounts of solar radiation also drive storms, as the heat decreases density in air (kinda). With a giant planet full of storms and high winds, hail can easily form. Hail forms from snow making balls, which are then flung back into the atmosphere from wind. High wind means these hail balls are going to stay in the air longer, and thus will be bigger. I’m no expert so this is just a hypothesis

Yes, but we meant power outage during normal use. E.g. can you drain too much power from nuclear or bio and how would it look like? With solar you get fabricator and battery charger shut down during the night. How would it look lile when you draw too much power from bio or nuclear

It depends on your definition of "finish the game". In my opinion finding out every bit of ||Sams story|| was the main purpose why Robin came to 4546B in the first place. Once you completed that part, your next goal is to ||leave the planet||. Most people say that ||AlAn|| is the main story, but I refuse to say so. For me Sam is the main story and ||AlAn just a convenient way to leave the planet 🙂 ||

Yeah I agree with this. ||Al-an meeting Robin was completely coincidental and, even though it takes the front seat in the gameplay, is still a side story. I think the devs wanted to make Robin’s escape less convenient and forced by not putting a fully built AlAn with a spacecraft. Robin wanted to find out about what really happened to Sam, and Marg’s story plays a big part in this, but yeah, without planning a method of escaping the planet, Robin has to help Al-an in order to leave while simultaneously searching for clues about Sam’s death.||

Absolutely, I like how the ||two stories intertwine with each other and its great to play both simultaniously but still finding out about your sister Sam should be the main focus. It would have helped a lot if you could not leave the planet before finishing Sams story and curing the frozen leviathan. But so, many players completely miss that part. Thats very sad and AlAn should have insisted to go back and complete that story||, imho. But OK, everybody can play the way he/she likes best.

||Yeah, especially since the cure is actually pretty tricky to find. Sam’s story is drowned out by Alan’s one, and many players forget that Sam exists because of how her story takes the back seat. I agree, there should be some sort of limitation so you have to complete her story. Al-an’s story is a lot more captivating and Sam’s story is not required at all in order to finish the game. I feel like the devs went a little overboard in ensuring that the way Robin left the planet was not too shallow and “convenient” that they forgot about why Robin was there in the first place. These are my personal nicknames, nothing official. Levi = Leviathan, just like that. Its a joke. The only named animal that I am aware of is ||Preston, the snow stalker of Maida||. I also call the squidshark in Deep Twisty Bridges "Squishy", like the one charcater from Monster University.

Rebreather makes a lot of difference especially if you’re below 100m

It removes the oxygen efficiency penalty from deep diving

If you need silver, there’s some in kelp caves which have oxygen plants as well

The signal isn’t the best in terms of getting you there, but once you’re in the caves, look for light sticks to lead the way, there’s some oxygen plants as well, and another good trick I’ve heard is follow these mass of lights on the walls (if you scan one it’s called hivemind plant I think) they flash colors and are located on the way to her seabase
