I think I'm stuck. I'm completely stumped on where I'm supposed to go at this point, I went to the island, got ambushed by I assume Maida, then got another beacon telling me to go to "Pilot- last known location"... I go to the beacon and... Nothing. There's nothing there at all. The beacon leads to a random spot in the ocean. I'm stumped. I've looked up guides online, they weren't helpful. It's discouraging, and because it's the only lead I have I've kinda been off and on the game. Each time I go back to the beacon, look around, find nothing, return to base and quit, bored.

sadly, in short words, shoulda been more.

focusing on the story and not the gameplay offers very little replayability, below zero was built to die. Plus the small map leaves nothing for players after their first run.

People insist that below zero is more chawkful of stuff, but that's because of how story reliant it is, all of that stuff means nothing because you find and see it all on your first playthrough.

Subnautica has less stuff in the map, but it has more map, more to be explored. More to see, it isn't leading you around like a dog on a leash, it's throwing you into an ocean with a few pings and a ||dead crew||. Even to this day after 3 fully complete runs, 1 fully complete hardcore and once kinda complete hardcore I am still finding new stuff to enjoy about this game. I played BZ and it was nice on the first run, but it has zero replayability. All that I liked was the graphics and the higher FOV. Subnautica is a world to be explored, BZ is a pre tailored journey. For the type of game that subnautica is, which is an exploration, kind of horror game. (not really) a pre-tailored experience is not what it should be.

Subnautica one was a learning experience, a new engine. A old crew, and a whole ocean. Subnautica Below Zero was exploration, a more tailored experience, a better engine, an even older crew, and a colder ocean. And subnautica 3 is what hopefully is what combobulates of these 2 games, A good story, and a mix between pre tailored and open world. I don't want subnautica to be open world, or atleast FULLY OPEN WORLD. I want those planned events, not the ||Ice worm gobbling up a snow stalker||. Not that, stuff like the aurora explosion. Maybe tectonic plates shifting, something that's big. Something creative. I don't want that medium sized planned stuff. I.E ||ice worm gobbling up a snow stalker|| Small stuff, and big stuff. Small stuff I.E pre planned leviathan roar, Big stuff I.E aurora explosion. But have you ever went off on a tangent? Aside from that, which is mainly a pet peeve, I hope unknown worlds takes value from both of these games, and understands that, unlike bethesda can with fallout, another game is needed to continue with the brand, no amount of polishing will make it a new game. Anyways I'm done.

or you combine it with your game play, its all up to you.

But for the "normal" game progression, staying near your drop pod is what most players do.

But of course you can go wild and crazy. I setup a land base as a hub to explore the west actic. That was convenient if you plan to stay there a bit longer. But absolutely not necessary.

Btw, instead of going insanely large, I tried this time to get as small as possible. So I build a mini-base, that still has all the necessary equipments and I come up with this as what I consider the minium base, that I feel looks nice
