You have everything to build it?
In your PDA is a voice log "gone fishing". There you find a hint. Listen to it.
ok ok
:)
Ok i am here to just put down my words
Subnautica below zero's experience is wayyyyyyyyyyy better than Subnautica
It is more polished and has more work put into it
I also get a calm feeling when playing sbz
Excellent description
Which i dont when playing subnautica. Because the biomes in subnautica below zero are just sooo beautiful!!!
Keep in mind i play on ps4
Sbz is just wayyy cooler than sb
Ey m8
Do you know why they took a survey of our sea trucks
That we dock with or without the modules
I dont know about it, where?
In announcements i think
Oct 9 2021
You know anything?
Are they making a new moonpool
Or some changes to the existing moonpool
No, I dont know. Only that some people with to park the entire seatruck with modules attached, for example
So you can connect moonpools to get a long space for the entire seatruck with modules.
Something like that, but thats to be seen
Ohh is that implemented?
Just rumors
Ahh ok
I made two moonpools connected with tubes in the length of my seatruck with modules. So I can park the seatruck in the first and the prawn in the second.
that looks nice
Thx @bold monolith really helpful
I found mercury 2
Again whan im low on water trying to find kelp forest for what
Evry time im about to die i find this ship
I hate it, why
The game wants you to die in the ship
Oh it sure does
Just like the others
I had 30 oxygen in frist mercury for like 10minutes
Beacuse i couldnt find exit
The only reason i survived was me using the oxygen plants
The ghosts of the ship wants you to join them
Also within Mercury II wreck you can drop a beacon to mark your path, or you can use the path finder tool also (personally I did not even craft it, but thats its purpose)
You have to make beacons. Whenever you stumble upon something interesting, drop a beacon and give it a name. Then you can always come back. Dont use the beacons that are given to you as landmark e.g. delta station as they are very convenient to have.
Also within Mercury II wreck you can drop a beacon to mark your path, or you can use the path finder tool also (personally I did not even craft it, but thats its purpose)
Dear Ignis, I could not replicate my dead pinnacarid in a containment tank. But what definitely does not survive in a crowded tank are rock grubs. I put 5 inside and eventually they are all gone. What I am thinking of is not, that animals get hostile but that they take collision damage from each other. And if one gets too much it dies. After all several users have reported dead animals in alien containment tanks, me included and also fandom states a maximum number, but I assume this is purely from observation or best practice, quote: "If the player leaves two creatures of the same species inside the Alien Containment for long enough, they will breed and another fish of the same species will spawn inside. Once the Alien Containment reaches a population of ten fish, the reproductive process will stop. If more fish are added after the maximum is reached, some will die and float to the top of the container. Multiple Alien Containments stacked on top of each other will increase the amount by ten each. The population capacity of Alien Containments constructed in Large Rooms is twenty."
I should go back to both Subnautica and Subnautica:Below Zero and scan the creatures I didn't scan yet
Yes, thats one personal goal I made for myself to have all PDA scans a voice logs
"If more fish are added after the maximum is reached, some will die and float to the top of the container." This statement is just wrong.
They stop breading, that's all.
I agree, I think its just by observation
I'll try the rockgrub, but it's possible that it is a collision problem. They free themselves.
I stuffed the tank with everything I had (all species) and nothing happend, so I see your point but somehow creatures can die in the thank, thats reported by users.
It is most likely exterior sources though.
Why would the rock grubs collide with each other, they’re tiny.
Not with themselves, but sometimes you can see creatures getting out of the enclosure, not restricted to where the glass is.
It was improved, but you still can see this.
I’ve already seen that several times already with fish breaching into the base.
It is indeed annoying, especially considering if you pick them up they'll most likely respawn inside.
Haven’t had that happen actually.
Might be more of an issue in larger complexes though.
I once set of my Seatruck's perimeter defence too close to my base and killed the fish in my containment 😦
Ohhh, that is terrible
It was just common bladderfish, so I could replace them, but still ... RIP, little guys
Speaking of those, I’ve yet to find them.
Yes, absolutely
No idea where to find them.
I have found them, but only have hatched and played with a gold one
You want a hint
Sure.
That’s not really much of a clue.
Well there are only three body parts
Ok, one are in the ||deep lilypad cave|| and one are in the ||arctic spires||
Ha imagine needing defenense
I use it for the leviathans, and occasionally the brute sharks and cryptosuchus.
Where is the seatruck afterburner upgrade at?
||in the lilypad crevice, in the caves where the pilot last known positions is||
Oh
There are|| many good upgrades there, so make sure to scan the seamonkey nest very carefully. Its all there.||
Thx
Finnalt i got nuclear reactor blueprint
Soon i will be able to flex and make fun from evryone that dont use nuclear energy, not only in subnautica chat but now also in bellow zero
I dont even have to make rods which is a shame honestly
Im done
Rods burn out so i made four lockers full of them
They will burn out in maybe 100 hours
You for sure have engouch time to finish playtrough if you have 1 rod
Depends on the energy consumption of your base
Make sure to build it fsr from your base
How much can you consume
It makes an aweful noise
I just put it at the far end of my base two tubes away
I dont hear anything on 100%
This.
I do not consume, I absorb.
I played for 300 hrs so i used about 10 so far
The problem is that empty rods cannot be recycled
You have to dispose them
Solar panel spam ftw.
Have you scanned the nuclear wast container
Though to to be fair, I don't have super much here.
Excellent
Wow below zero is a buggy mess on switch. Force closing periodically and making me lose progress. Enough to make me ask for a refund ffs
And now my game crashed
Idk when I last saved so I might lose like 2 hours of progress
Darnit, time to build fridges then.
What about it
And my god is it hard to navigate around the lilypad crevase
Yea
Took me so long to find the parts to the seatruck afterburner
You can plant rotten thinfs
Make fruit salad and all food problems are gone
It is very handy when a leviathan is about to swallow your seatruck
Anyways what was parallel processing untit for, i forgot
Test override module
As much trouble as they are to scan&build, they should be used for other handy stuff too
Old and rotten ||prestons delights|| will still work on the ||stalkers||, right?
lol few minutes after I complain about game force closing… what platform are you on?
Does fhe prawn suit jump jet upgrade stack? The wiki doesn't clearly say whether it does or not
no, I wouldn't think so
Probably not, but if you investigate I hope you have the recycle tron to salvage the parts
Yea I do.
cool
So it won't hurt to try
I think my favorite Prawn add-on would be the thermal charger
Is it useful in the glacier areas?
The glacial area has guysers, you can stand over one to charge
Haven't seen too many deeper in, but okay, was wondering on opinion.
The only prawn upgrade that stacks is the storage upgrade
For collecting resources a second storage is useful
Yh
Thermal power maybe? That or more storage
Or both? heh
Well you only have one slot
Thermal power is useful for extended missions but the extra storage is so useful for mining.
Bruh
What is signal perdido? I'm not getting what you're bruh'ng at.
Enter test mode
No working
Save, reload
Sinal Perdido = Signal Lost. And their problem is not about the seaglide. It's about the T.O.M
No working
Are you on xbox? This user solved the same problem. See #below-zero-xbox message
you bought the sequel to a game that could barely run steadily on a ps4 for the nintendo switch
idk what you expected 😳
I hate pda
||i found new biome, it tells me theres leviathan the same moments its charging to attack me, thanks pda||
just looking out for you 👍
Yea also he is a camper
Like bruh it sees me from 200 meters and charges
Thats so stupid
Why does it attack me
Doesnt it have other things to attack
Did you get a good scan of him?
No beacuse i died
Ah, so you need to go back
No
I just load a save
Im getting all kyanite i can and get the heck out
And i will try to find grapling arm for prawn
Ah Kyanite, so you will go back, sooner or later
No
Im not coming back for kyanite
Im gonna get all kyanite i may need in future
And i aint returning until alan tells me to
I got 2 kyanite for reactor
And saved, now i can commit multiple suicides exploring
Okay i know what to do
Deaatach all the seatruck modules and go for a charge
Until you are out of his patrol zone
I assume im supposed to get here with prawn
But i dont accept failure
I just finished the game without console commands!
Excellent, congratulations!
It worked
And i got to some new facility
Anyways its gonna take another 3 attempts to leave
Help
How much kyanite do i need for a whole game
I already got the ||architects organs so im done with 1 reason why i shouldnt come back here now i gotta compleate 2nd reason wich is get engouch kyanite for the rest of a game, and third is to kill void leviathan but i dont have statisw rifle yet||
There are no weapons in the game
You can kill them if you want
But is statis rifle in game
No, no weapons
You have prawn torpedo arm, which does nothing and the prawn vortex cannon which does nothing
Bruh
I gotta ram him?
Of course and then repair
How many times
You will see, its actually easier than you might think
But you have to hit it in the head/neck area
Dude, i killed too many big creatures in this game with seatruck
I think i'll need console commands because i was going through the arctic spires and me + my prawn clipped through the floor into nothingness, and i don't want to lose the prawn because it has all the ion cubes from the arctic spires, which is all that's left unless there's an ion cube generator like subnautica. Heres the worst part: I'm on Switch
you have to see th green clouds of the hitbox
Even the squid shark beacuse he was a prick
Anyways
How many minutes does it take
To kill it
Sure, his brother will come for his funeral
Then go ahead and let us know how it went
when is anal going to tell me the location of crystal caverns base and his last part?
Is there anything else to take other than ||architects part and kyanite||
You will see
Beacuse if no, just tell me how much kyanite do i need
How much kyanite do i need for the whole game
A handfull is enough
6?
Do you have all ||the stuff for the architekt body||
How many are there
You see it in your inventory
3 for the organs and 3 for the seatruck upgrade
But prawn
unnecessary
I need it
You can still collect more when you are going there again
Dont care its unnecessary
Thanks
Prawn suit depth 2 needs 1 kyanite
No, im not returning there until my prawn is ready
So you can collect it when you go there again
No, i got 6 i will get more just to be done
And than i will have fun killing
Excellent, go ahead
So how much do i need kyanite to build evrything that needs it
dunno. 8 will prob cover it
And prawn suit thermal generator.
But that one is not absolutely neccesary.
that one needs 2, depth 1
Im gonna get 9
Excellent, that is definitely enough
Anyways, that's gotta Wait for tommorow
All in all though, you won't need much.
Also was i supposed to already discover architects ||organs||
only a law
Does he give you the location later
For what?
no, you do not get locations for all
For the ||organs||
The chain of discovery isn't linear.
When will anal give me the organ location?
Never
Why
He doesnt want Your progress to continiue for some reason
He gives very suttle hints
Yea
I got everything except for the organs
Excellent, one more to go
How many mercury ships are there
Subtle hints about not wanting to progress? The other two he doesn't give direct locations for, but he'll mention about sensing something important in the area.
||one ship three part||
I thought there are 2
That's why I play with water volume checked
when will who now
Anal
He gives clues with water sounds? I'm confused about the not wanting you to progress.
No autocorrect
I suspected so
What does autocorrect have to do with Al An, I'm totally lost here.
I was responding to this.
When you press f3 there is a box that says water volume and when you checkmark it you can see everything without fog or water opacity
What does that have to do with subtle clues on not wanting you to progress?
Though that function will be useful in the glaciers, dang whiteout conditions.
Taking away fog seems more than just subtle ngl
taking away fog helps with fear of open water
No there are just AlAn talking that should give you hints
And some clues when you get close
Nothing more
So if anybody needs help, just ask
And one area he literally can't ||because the crystals are scattering the signals like a hall of mirrors||.
I can't live without the water volume option or the perimiter defense system especially in the crystal caves
Peremiter defense system definetly. Water opacity isn't that bad down there though, and those leviathans screech right as they attack.
He literally gives you a beacon of the ||Deep Lilypads Caves Cache||.
What-
yes, but not the other two
under the huge floaty rock, that totally doesn't have a secret inside it
:0000
Is it possible to blast these doors open wider?
How do I know when I'm in the middle?
nope
I was able to get the seatruck itself through though.
you can get through them with just the Seatruck cabin but it's difficult, I'd recommend either using a Prawn or seagliding down with an ultra tank and rebreather, there's enough oxygen plants for that
Took a lot of wiggling around.
yes, top of the door is easiest
Prawns already inside, just wanted to get the storage module through at least, heh.
on top, past at least 2 lava vents
||There are two alternative entries, one with seatruck and modues attached||
First I've heard of it.
I need to make my seatruck-
I'm not at home right now so I cant check the materials for kt
looks around How did I not notice it.
What materials do I need for the Sea truck?-
check your blueprints
yo really
I looked around inside the mining site for the alternate way out and I couldn't find it, where is it?
first room ceiling
I imagine it's probably somewhere in the middle of that long downward sloping tunnel section
oh, idk how I wouldn't have noticed that
There are two. One right when you enter the mine at the ceiling. Very well hidden. Thats the best one
It is possible to go in and out the front door in the seatruck cab, you just have to wedge thru sideways
If you like. The other entrance i passed with docking module and prawn attached
Just left the storage at the door and mined all resources
I'll have to look for that
I feel like it'd be a lot easier to locate from the inside as opposed to the outside
There are videos showing both ways
and when I find the outside entrance I can drop a beacon
I'm taking my second save more slowly so I haven't made the Prawn yet, I'll wait until I get that before going to Koppa
the Twisty Bridges was definitely the right place to make my first base
this looks so much cooler than any of my previous BZ bases
also, these things are adorable
this is the first time I've seen them, never hatched any in my first save
Baby squidsharks are cute too.
Not at home
oh
Yeah
one sec
And knowing my data speed it's gonna take YEARS for it to load a page
Thanks
np
Is that an advanced cable thingy or the normal?
the wiring kit is an advanced one yes
And you have the mobile vehicle bay already?
Yeah
Excellent then go ahead
I have a love hate relationship with building
why?? I don't see any reason this shouldn't be able to go here
it can go here
and here
but not in between for whatever fricking reason
I found a ||portal at phi!!!!||
I'm being a bit picky about where I actually want my base
Where should I make it?
Question on the jump jet, are the figures the wiki gives for water only: Without the upgrade, the maximum vertical height the thrusters achieve is 56.8 m, whereas with the upgrade it can reach a maximum vertical height of 135.8 m. ?
Did you discover biome with kyanite
If you didnt i can recomend a small underwater mountain that borders 3 biomes, on each side theres diffrent biome
One of them is with the hot thingys
The other is kelp forest
And the third one i dont remember
Also
No-
How do you move a base
AM i supposed to make 10locker modules for a seatruck
Just to move my base in one go
I assume i could make new one
But reasources
No
I want cool base
I want home
Next to some leviathan
Oh in void
And make a Giant tunnel out from the void
So you dont get killed
Why not
Look for mods.
the VR mod
You could look into a program called ReShade that applies colour corrections to games. You could pick one that's dark and has a lot of contrast.
Is there a mod for more seatruck storage becauseI wanted to use it as a mobile base.
I recommend asking in the Subnautica modding server. You can find the link to join the server in #subnautica-modding.
I just realized I won the game without dying.
You can just add more storage modules
someplace cool
I'd recommend someplace like the Twisty Bridges or Lilypad Islands
regular Twisty Bridges that is, not the shallow ones
Oh
Which is the regular?
The one that ||Goes to the bottom in which you can get diamonds?||
Regular twisty bridges is where you can find the table corals
I built my main base on the east side of Delta station, it's a central location with ready access to heat for the thermal plants
that's the Deep Twisty Bridges
the regular one is this one
I want it (my base) above 100 meters
Is that above 100 meters? Preferably 50 meters qwq
It feels like the twisty bridges are just the tails of reefbacks!!!!
there's 3 different Twisty Bridges
Shallow Twisty Bridges, which the drop pod lands in and is basically the Safe Shallows of BZ
Twisty Bridges, which goes down to over 200m and has all the coral bridges but is exposed to the surface
and Deep Twisty Bridges, which has Squidsharks and is underneath the Twisty Bridges, entirely in a cave
I am starting to have a theory
What if the reefbacks from the first game are just the twisty bridges now?
nah they're made of coral
says so in the wiki, plus they're called "coral bridges"
THEY ARE?!
not to mention Reefback's tentacles are nowhere near that huge
all coral
Those ones look small
I mean it's an interesting observation but they have nothing to do with Reefbacks
plus Reefbacks don't exist in Sector Zero, it'd probably be too cold for them
Yes.
yeah it's a completely separate area, it doesn't replace the crater
And see the base?
what base?
The one the janitor built
In theory we could indeed travel to the crater
It'd just take a LOT of time
not really without the proper equipment
But we could
in the ending of Subnautica you can see Sector Zero from space when you launch the Neptune
no, just nearer to the south
as you fly around the outside of the planet before using the ion thrusters you can see a large cluster of whiteish stuff in the south, that's Sector Zero
technically the entire planet is the void, the Crater and Sector Zero are only tiny dots compared to the whole planet
Yes but
Does that mean that there could, potentially, be more leviathan hiding in those voids?
it's really up to the lore
ingame of course there is no way to get from one to the other
probably
btw this is the Deep Twisty Bridges (from the previous topic)
was gonna send that before but had to go make a sandwich
Pof
I have to get up at like 6 in the morning though
I'm having like freaking theories right now
I wake up at 5am everyday-
what
Yeah
Too bad there's no clock in BZ
I'd love to be able to wake up at 5am everyday in BZ
I mean there are other fan Subnautica ideas that take place in different areas which don't actually exist lore-wise but it's cool to imagine
Oh-
well actually...there is one in the Control Room
a digital one on the wall
sadly no lol
xD
Or is it sam?-
Oof-
Alright- I need tons of titanium cuz I'm moving to the normal twisty bridges
They're north south east or west??
I haven't adjusted my brain to the Sector Zero map yet so I'm not sure
if you're in the Shallow ones just go around and you should find them
I need to know
Generally southwest. Will vary slightly depending on where you are/where your Drop Pod is located (if you're at your Drop Pod's location)
Can I live with the penglings?!
I typically go by landmarks and memory instead of direction so I'm generally not that good with directions lol
I typically go by maps and 0% memory
Southwest from life pod?
I got along just fine without the compass
never needed it
I'd just memorize routes and locations
As I said, generally southwest. It might be a little more in another direction depending on where your Drop Pod spawned.
I can tell you exactly if you send me your coordinates.
so I was getting lithium in the Purple Vents a few days ago and realized how unused to the feminine shadow I was lol
is it just me or are shadows much more distinct in this game compared to in the first one?
even in dimmer places like the Lilypad Islands I can clearly see the Seatruck's shadow under it if I'm looking down while piloting it
Where do I find lots of titanium tho?-
everywhere, just look for outcroppings
since there's not much metal salvage in BZ they've made up for it by making every type of outcropping have a chance to give titanium, rather than just limestone like in the first game
I'm gonna need a lot of it to save all my stuff into a small room
I'm gonna use the small lockers, but which ones are best tho?
depends on what you're needing them for
Temporary storage
I like the small ones for sorted storage because you can name them
typically I use the large ones for bulk storage of things like titanium
But copper wire signs 😢
I do use those
but usually only for labelling bulk storage
since I'd have to use so many otherwise
Yeah same 🙌
you won't regret building a base in the Twisty Bridges, look at this view @floral lava
I don't think I can build a single base without having a least one large room that has a glass roof on top
it's a necessity
I got a lot of titanium now
So I should be ready
But I'm gonna have to send yall pics on which is the best looking location
oh yeah this happened to me earlier when I was gathering materials lmao
3 of them ganged up on me at once
Brutesharks are so much more annoying than Stalkers, why are they so persistent
the worst thing is that you can hear the constant snarling noise behind you the entire time that you're being followed so you know they're there
I swear half my resource gathering time is just Seagliding in circles to avoid these things
Lmao
multiple times I've gone back to my base with no medkits and low health
Ok, I need to know WHERE I'm making my base
Will you help me choose where @quick terrace ?
sure
Thanks
the base I'm currently working on is built next to this central pillar structure, around 140 m down
:0
I chose the area over top of the Deep Twisty Bridges entrance because it goes the deepest and has the most coral bridges spanning all over the place so it's the coolest looking part of the Twisty Bridges imo
Miceee
it's not done yet, I'm still working on the interior
the pic from inside the large room with the alien containment was one of the most recent ones
the two above are older, before I added anything in the upper room
Ok so
hello
I'm dismounting all the top first
And then I'm gonna get everything that was on there into the new base
I wanna have like 2 rooms, the upper one, which is My room
And the bottom one, which is like work relayed
I like being relatively deep down so that I have that amazing view with all the coral bridges going back and forth over my head all the way up to the surface, if I made it higher the effect wouldn't be nearly as cool
yeah I did the same with mine
this is part of my lower floor
behind the door I have more storage, a nuclear reactor and a water filtration machine and vending machine
Alright
this was before I put the other stuff in
Top floor is empty now
I'm probably gonna go for now, need to get to bed early tonight
why is there a literal lobster in BZ
HELP
I hear like a beep
And a roar, and them it's like an alarm or a siren
Helpp
@stoic surge
wdym
probably the soundtrack
Like that ish
i wouldnt worry
I'm in the sage shallows tho
And it keeps going
It gets louder when I'm close to the lifepod I THINK
There isn't a 'safe shallows' as a biome label though.
Nvm I also hear it over water
It's more the shallow portion of twisty bridges.
I heard like a Lil error sound effect
so you know exactly what they're talking about even when they say safe shallows
I'm scared
I'm thinking it might be the Delta station
It keeps going
It hasn't stopped
At what depth do the solar panels stop working?
I barely ever use the solar panels, I prefer the bioreactor in early game, switch to thermal plants as soon as I can build em
The bioreactor and a couple pepper plants will give most people all the power they need (and food for Robin too)
Yep
okie
So, um, I found the ||antidote||, what am I supposed to do with it? Also, I don't seem to have any obvious conclusion to the ||investigation into Sam's death||, I did find the ||frozen leviathan|| and investigated the area, but no clear That's the answer, time to move on' conclusion.
You can use the cure vial in the machine with wheels in the chamber with the frozen dude
Ok
Still didn't get a clear conclusion as to what happened to ||Sam||, ||clearly something happened, but what isn't at all clear. There's also the matter of Alterra seemingly suddenly abandoning the area in a hurry with no explaination.||
This page has the details on the whole thing:
https://subnautica.fandom.com/wiki/Sam_Ayou
where do i find ||seatruck|| parts
deep twisty bridges i think
Normal parts or module parts?
Both
both
The best place IMO for the regular Seatruck fragments is the Twisty Bridges 👍
Seatruck is buggy as hell 😖
Wow just found the biggest creature egg in the lily pads… 3x3 in size…
I’m thinking it’s a squid shark
It can only be spawned in by use of console commands.
I wish they will add seamoth
Yeah i got that,|| incomplete ig name's peacekeeper||
Why? Cabin of sea truck is basically the moth

Hmmm... are you sure. There are creatures bigger than a squidshark.
Lets go my seatruck batterys are done
Great i gotta use seaglide to travel 500meters or more
Sure, but have a spare battery too, or the swim charge fins
And always have spare cells for seatruck also 🙂
Well , dont have to tell you that now
That will be a heck of a rescue mission
Hahaha, knowing your inventory is helpful.
Yes, so much stuff to carry around, gets confusing from time to time
What have you done down there?
Okay i have 30 oxygen, seatruck Has 30hp i gotta repair it and get in before anyone sees me
I did it
Excellent
Now its go time, i got the architects ||organs and 10 kyanite i aint returning||
Excellent, how many parts have you know?
4
I mean body parts
How do you use it without hiting anything
The mechanics works not like in real life
Also how to move a base
But in less than 10times going from a to b
Do you have the recyclotron?
Yes
then you can compact all items in the seatruck fabricator.
What
Eg. 5 titanium --> 1 Ti ingot
Oh
1 Ti ingot + 2 lithium --> 1 plasteel ingot
Okay but frist i gottta kill that one void leviathan to make the base
But finally what is left you have to carry
And also make sure that you have left enought material to make the base and power to build the recyclotron inside, otherwise you cannot revert the stuff
And you can have more than one storage module. In my picture you see that I have two storage and the prawn with to additional 2 storage modules. So plent of room to carry stuff
Ah, i gotta get zaper module
Beacuse i didnt see it
🙂
Not my fault someone puts sucha stuff behind some boxes isntead of table
Anyways
I went to her toilet, but no, went back out again
Im gonna make myself a salad
Enjoy
Lets go
I can now craft basicly water
And food in one
And it can be eaten even in 100years
You have the still suit
Im not gonna use it
Ok, its very convenient
I prefer salads
I do
Salad is from fruits
Anyways
Lets do my math homework 10 minutes before a lesson
Probabely a good choice
Ahhhhh... thats not how its suppose to be
I think they want you to figure it out yourself, no?
But hey, go ahead 🙂
I aint doing math with letters
Never ever in my life
Anyways
Cyclop is better mobile base
Math with letters? Algebra eh
No hexadecimal
Oh
I know what hex is
I always give my age in hexadecimal, its more flattering
At least the years with no letter inside
I was bored in math and figured out how to spell my nickname on my calculator in class one day using hexadecimal😛
I think that is a very good way to learn hex conversion
Type a word and figure out the value
What’s that? Teleport module?
What is says, it teleports you from where you are back into the module
But there is a catch to it with a sneaky solution
What if you’re in your prawn suit?
It only teleports you its a personal teleportation device
You also have a tether tool you have to operate, so you have to leave the prawn to use it (hold in your hand)
An no, the zapper is the perimeter defense upgrade for the seatruck, very important to get rid of leviathans
The teleportation is a seatruck module, the "zapper" is a seatruck upgrade
Dafuq it was a glow whale
When do you even need it LMAO
F me then lol
Exactly, the squid sharks are a bit harder to find 🙂
Ok, so what i know from Robin's sister
I didnt know it was in the same planet
yeahh ahaha
Robin's sister was the main reason she came back to 4546B, which by then had turned into a ||research planet with a lot of scientists roaming the planet working for Alterra. I read somewhere that Alterra tried to study the virus to be able to use it to its advantages. Robin's sister and Marguerit Maida, the Degasi survivor (she killed the Reaper she encountered at the 3rd base, where Paul died, and later Bart ended up back on the island but then died to the virus some time later, but the Reaper dragged her too far into the Void, so she got pushed by the currents of the ocean staying afloat on the body of the Reaper. That's how she ended up in Sector Zero aka Below Zero map) went to sabotage the study of the virus (they were studying the giant fossil in the ice) by blocking the entrance to the cave. Unfortunately, Robin's sister died during the dynamite explosion. Alterra wrote it down as 'staff negligence' and stopped studying the virus bcuz of it, giving Robin the chance to go back to 4546B. That's where you start playing Below Zero and find the sanctuary of Al-An, the precursor trapped in the structure in the Twisted Bridges biome. After interacting with the structure he's in, right before the power runs out he downloads himself into your brain. That's where your quest starts of building a body for him so eventually both of you can leave the planet and go to the planet where the precursors (used to) live. Don't know if they're all dead or not cuz that's not made clear by the outro cutscene, but since the data found in Subnautica was already around a 1000 years old, and by then there were already 143 billion precursors killed by Kharaa (the virus) who knows how many precursors are still alive by the time you enter their planet...||
I basically spoiled the whole Below Zero storyline
Not in detail, but rough-edged
Altho i did spoil into detail what happened to Robin's sister, so BE CAREFUL FOR ANYONE NOT WANTING TO GET SPOILED
@fickle vale here ya go
thanks
broo tysmmm
thats a hella nice story aswell!
But I’ve got one question
do they ever go to the precursor’s planet?
Do you care about having the game spoiled for you?
The story is really interesting and during gameplay its hard to follow
So I looked it up afterwards to better understand how it all started, the story of Maida, etc.
Als interesting to see afterwards what kind of help you got from all the voice logs
Some are very very subtle
||Yeah, that's the final thing that happens in the game: they arrive on the planet and then the game ends. We're left to wonder what the planet's like and what happens next </3||
broo whatt
that sucksss that they left it on a cliffhanger
Like they didn’t even know what the planet looked like right?
... ||They lived happily ever after||
Watch a youtube video|| showing the ending, then you know what we know about it||
||The last scene shows what it looks like.||
Wait, I give you a link:|| https://youtu.be/vOd-t2Nqo-g?t=1157s||
We've made it to Outpost Zero and are ready to wrap this up! (Ahead of my ongoing What'd I Miss? series)
On the channel ouf that youtuber you find an excellent playthrough from how to start till the end. I love to watch it even now I know the story, its just so beautiful.
So this is the final video showing the ending
Absolutely, I love this game
As i said, bit overpriced
But when i first played it few days ago
It's just so different altho it being sorta the same game
I still love it, if we scramble away the story gaps and rough-edged stuff
I already noticed that the game also runs a lot smoother and is a lot more optimized than Subnautica
This leaves room for imagination
I dont want to be like a Report-man or something but I think that, Spy Penglings should take four iventory slots, because they are as big as drone cameras. So devs should add something like this to below zero.
True
Good one! Little detail
Thanks : )
Spy penglings are good for decorating your base, love them, cute!
Yoooo, I didn't notice
Its a trick, you have to leave them on the fabricator 🙂
Just walk away when they are crafted and they stay
This is actully cool
Works with other objects as well, but not all are decorative
Does this game have some sort of map system or is it just as "find stuff through wandering in random directions" as the first game?
No built in map. But you find|| two maps at different loctations||. There are maps on the internet, but of course huge spoilers
Yeah I pretty much used a map to help me in the first sub
I'm both too scared and too dumb to find things myself in it
You want the link or find yourself?
I'm still in the first game
I think no
By using a map?
no
Because how many people found things themselves without the maps? Imagine the feeling of discovery upon such things
It must be right for you, not for others
I watched an entire playthrough before I decided to play it myself
When I was starting subnautica I've watched videos about all creatures in this game.
That's subjective. If you feel like it took away from your experience then you may have. I used maps and don't really care- it still was enjoyable for me.
I do feel like it did
But I also don't feel like it's worth trying to have the experience I want at this point
Yes
Because i feel bad for looking up where to find certain materials because I'm too impatient to just look through different zones
Dont worry...
That my friend is something we like to call pro strats
I guess it's my old obsession with being a purist that hasn't gone away
Fear of only being able to discover stuff once and therefore missing out on playing the game the way it was meant to be played
It's also 4:24 and I'm obsessing over stuff
Even when you meet leviathans that you know preety well. It is still scary like you see it for the first time
Haven't felt like this about it for a while. Went on a spree of just freely checking guides again but idk, Subnautica is making me sad for this reason and idk why.
Then again about the only zones I looked up the location of on this playthrough were the Blood Kelp and Grand Reef so I could find specific things.
I found Lost River totally by accident this time around
...idk maybe I'll just go without a map for the rest of the playthrough and call it good
...I'll stop obsessing and sleep. Sorry for rambling. I'm basically talking to myself by this point hehhh
Well, at the very least you can experience Below Zero without a map if that's what you want to do 👌
Aye yeah
I mean what is it even like to play the game without a map or guide or hints?
Lots of wandering?
Maybe if I do a playthrough again of the first game I'll just go mapless because I'll have forgotten where everything is by that time
you will get a rougth map very early in the game.
...again. I'll just sleep. Purist mindset ruining my enjoyment of things again.
I don't know why I do it or why I think this way.
I find that it's a bit harder to play this game without guides as to the first game. Due to the fact that it's more story oriented, the places you need to find are more specific rather than find wrecks and scan stuff and so it might cause more confusion.
It's one of the myriad of reasons why I know I have OCD without needing diagnosis.
Okay so it's definitely a case of "you should absolutely use a guide if you value your sanity"
I mean, you don't have to. A nice middle-ground might be to ask in this server for hints that aren't just flat out telling you where to go 🤷♂️
Where’s a good place for a base…?
Near twisty bridges
I personally prefer the Thermal Spires because it's in the middle of the map, has lots of resources and there are heat sources for thermal energy.
I’m at a point where the story has kinda reached a standstill
If you are still in the game play then the one you have is the best and best located
Kk
Once you go for the west arctic its good to have a base at Phi dock.
Just makes travelling a bit easier
I’ve reached greenhouse and Emily Dickinson poem.
That was a nice touch since I’m really into Emily Dickinson right now lol
Check the map, what locations have you not yet visited
e.g. where ||your sister worked||
Guys?
What upgrades are best for the Sea Truck?
And the Thermal Reactor for the PRAWN, is that even useful? Idk how much biomes are as heated as the Lava Zones in Subnautica
Is it worth putting that on my PRAWN? Or should I put an extra storage module on?
I got the control room
You need all upgrades for seatruck
Perimeter defense, depth mk 1,2,3, afterburner and horsepower.
The two later ones are helpful when you attach modules
I never used that one, but you can build it for completeness
I put two storage modules because I use the prawn only for drilling resources
Then extra storage is super useful
And the jump pack of course and the drill arm
How too instal deep-sea module in seatruck
You have to open the hatch at the top left of the sea truck and insert it there
ok
What about the Engine Efficiency?
These are the only four upgrades you get
I read somewhere that it got taken out of actual Survival
But i can find it in Creative
So there's barely any lava biomes? Probably only useful for Heat thermal vents hmm?
I never used it so I cant tell
I would assume that it is only marginally usefull, especially with the docking module of the sea truck, you can take your prawn with you and only deploy it when needed.
But probabely there are people who only use the prawn and then you need every extra energy that you can get
I never run out of battery in my prawn, and later you can build the ion cell and then you have no battery issues anymore
What do I get at outpost zero
Information, PDA, scans,
Oh ok
I want to do the same!
place a base at every biome
Excellent, that is so much fun!
I love each of my bases
ikr. (even placed a base in the glacial basin cave system
altho I had much work with stabbing the eye jelly's to get them away to build
Hahaha... I build it at the glacial basin lake and in the frost acatia valley
on land
The view in the frost acatia valley is just stunning
Did you find the ||underwater glacial basin connection||
Hey, can you harvest the thingies that appear where the sea monkey nests are?
You have to scan the nests for the stuff
The ones that grown on like vines (not the kelp ones)
Yes
yes, you can collect them.
Can you harvest them tho?
But you cannot grow them yourself
Dang
and they don't regrow, i think, don't know, you have to try
Oof
Why, what you need them for?
Bio reactor
Plenty of other stuff to put inside.
Yeah
I would go for gel sacks, they give 280 value
yeah
Did you find the ||alien thingy there|| too???
that is not there or is it?. I didt find it tho
I played 300+ hours and just found it recently
Its very well hidden, nothing fancy but made me happy
noice
there is no seamoth
Not stuck inside my seatruck
I died and I spawned INSIDE my seatruck
I can't get out
TOO LATE
I mean what can you do inside your truck, how are you stuck, make a picture and show
Welp
You can wait until you did and see what happens then
Or use console command to free you
But then no more achievements
I got out :D
How, why, tell
Ok, that was almost too easy then 🙂
Oh!
What are you doing?
Well, I had my game crashed several times when entering the moon pool
But I have not seen that before
I died
And somehow spawned inside my seamoth. Saved inside. Left game. Joined game. And tadaaa
You should not die so often, that is not healthy
not for you and not for the game
And dont save at the wrong moments
Why not for the game?-
As you see
Oh
Just joking
I died because a shark was behind me and I didn't hear it
