"When consumed, it will empty the thermos and the player will gain 50 body heat but lose two points of water."

The cold can be unforgiving in Below Zero. I recommend grabbing Fevered Peppers from Fevered Pepper Trees scattered around islands to restore body heat as well as working towards crafting the Cold Suit to make traversing in the cold easier.
