I play freedom because I don’t like to waste my inventory space on food and water, and it’s generally more relaxing I find, and allows me to focus on the parts of the game I find most enjoyable (the exploration and discovery elements). I don’t play Subnautica games for the survival aspect, I play them for the beautiful world I get to explore and be a part of (plus if you think about it, you can’t really eat in the middle of a dive anyway😂 you’d probably become sick to your stomach especially at some of these depths, so while some might say freedom mode isn’t immersive, it’s quite the opposite for me where survival mode is bit unrealistic, but there’s no wrong way to play, whatever one finds enjoyable is the right way to play)

It just feels a bit cumbersome to me, I’m glad we don’t have to rely on prawn in this game like the first. I really only use it for drilling resources. I really have grown to love the modular seatruck design.

Combine it with a storage and fabricator seatruck, you can compress resources like making plasteel ingots, copper wire, glass, and wiring kits etc and then recycle them back into their primary components at your base, it allows you to store a lot more when you go out making resource runs

I meant in terms of the leviathans, I don’t think once you’ve encountered a big scary sea monster, subsequent encounters with them are likely to cause the same sort of fear reaction, no matter the design. At least, not without going to some serious extremes, and that probably isn’t what the majority of the player base wants if I had to guess. A lot of players are casual, not the diehard fan base we hear much from here on the discord. Also, a lot of younger players who may not want games giving them nightmares lol. And there are certainly quite a number of “horror” games out there to choose from, this doesn’t necessarily have to be that genre. Not everyone may agree, but I think the focus of these games is much more around exploration, not so much about fear factor (that’s more secondary imo). I realize the narrated approach isn’t to everyone’s liking tho
