I had a dream about a Below Zero base but this was before I had actually got the game so I didn't know much about it, and I wanted to make the base in regular Subnautica cause that's all I had at the time but I couldn't add one detail, because in my dream the multipurpose room at the top of one of the towers had a glass dome on the top just like the one in BZ
little did I know it actually existed xD you could almost call it a "dream come true"

Basically if you grapple onto a loose surface (like a piece of quartz you dropped) and then started to walk around, you will notice youre faster

Typically you’d search out the storage and fabricator module fragments in the deep part of twisty bridges, which has diamonds and lithium that allow for making the mk1 depth module for the seatruck, which allows you to go to 300m and puts you in a good position to explore the lilypad area most of it at least. Plus having some modules for the seatruck is nice for collecting resources anyway (idk if you did that)

although if a leviathan grabs you it's possible it might clip into terrain depending on where you are since it always pulls the front around so it's facing it

I was getting out my seatruck from the moonpool, when i attached the modules, i accidentally hit the unattached teleportation module and it exploded into pieces.
I hit the module when i was moving the seatruck.
Also: the module was at 100% repair health.

Things to focus on early in the game, explore twisty bridges, because you’ll find a lot of useful fragments and stuff there, namely high capacity tank, rebreather, seatruck, mobile vehicle bay, and the deepest part of twisty has two helpful modules for the seatruck and the things you’ll need to make the mk1 depth module for it, namely diamonds and lithium (you won’t be able to reach it, as it’s below 150m, you have to dive down to get those things just watch your oxygen and use the oxygen plants). Also, the air bladder tool is actually useful in BZ

A lot of folks will make at least a starter base in twisty bridges since it’s convenient, and especially accessible to the beginning area. Land bases can be quite nice, I need to do more building on land, the visuals can be quite striking plus observing the weather changes. Personally I like having a base in lilypads somewhere, upper lilypads works well for me, but I’ve also built over in tree spires (that’s a bit more challenging because of cheli)
