IMO ice worms are an inconvenience at worst. They make a snowfox near impossible to use. Considering its already so small and the hitboxes overlap and that anytime an ice worm rises out, you get knocked off of it, it makes the Snowfox near impossible to use. IMO just walk if you have cold suit.

You’re making the assumption (and probably an incorrect one at that) regarding “these types of people” being a minority. As often happens on servers like these, people who are often outspoken about games being too easy are the more experienced players and don’t represent the general playing public, which is the targeted audience for games such as Subnautica and BZ. So that’s the feedback they take into account when designing a follow up game, naturally, and people who want more difficulty can use their own “rules of play” to adjust that for themselves. For example, think using the perimeter defense makes the game too easy? Don’t use it. Same with using foods like the peppers, or oxygen plants, or what have you. Play hardcore. If you’re on PC, the first game has death run mod. So it’s far and away easier for those seeking more challenge to manage their own play, than for the devs to work that into the game. They’re aiming for the general playing audience, you’re forgetting that.

I’ve read a ton of comments on this server. This game is definitely not classified by most people as “easy”

i can't disagree enough. they are most certainly a minority. if you followed subnautica since its early beta days before jacksepticeye made it blow up to new levels, the reasons it blew up and youtubers like him jumped on it and people followed was because of the horror elements and how hard and scary the game was...everyone wanted to play and experience it for themselves thats what made it special and what made it a true survival horror game. thats why i said i didn't like BZ its like they forgot what acc made the first one special and why peoppe gravitated to it. They removed the horror elements, they removed the sense of alienation and tension by adding more survivors, people that claim they want an easier experience clearly are not the ones that took subnautica to this level of success in the first place

There’s a way you have to place a growbed on platforms where you’ll have plants start out being placed on one end vs another, it’s not random is what I’m saying. I’ve learned I have to build them facing a certain way, but unfortunately there’s no indication when building them which side is which so that’s just something you have to learn for yourself. I can pass on some feedback about that, but I doubt it’s anything that would change😔

The placement of things in growbeds does follow its own rules, but it’s weird I agree. If I want a particular arrangement, a trick I’ve found useful is to keep some plants on hand to use as “blockers/testers” for locations (works for indoor and outdoor growbeds). For exterior beds I use acid mushrooms since they’re easy to find, the whole ones not the seeds. Or alternatively you can grow gel sacks and use them. Put either of those down in a bed, and remove the ones where you want to plant specific other seeds in whatever design or order you desire. Makes it easier doing guesswork. Since there’s not acid mushrooms in BZ, gel sacks work well or those ribbon plants there’s tons of those around the starting area.

For the indoor growbed I use frost vase plants as blocker/spacing agents. Hope this helps with planning out your gardens xD

That’s definitely not how I see it, it’s different but I’ve really enjoyed the BZ game

It’s a more compact map

But with the QoL improvements I don’t really see it as that bad, because the game looks better and plays better

I would say I enjoy the soundtrack (not the jukebox music) to Subnautica over BZ, simply because there’s a lot more variety of styles of music and it can be soothing or pump you up

especially whatbwith the perimeter defense making you and your modules nearly invincible to leviathan

and without a back up cam its hard to back your prawn suit up into the right spot to use, like sticking it in a hole then going inside the prawn to explore the cave with, its a neat feature just difficult to achieve with no backup cam

what you do is backup your seatruck with the moonpool module back it up onto land to where the moonpool module is on the ground but the main seatruck id in the water, leave and take the prawn suit away walk on land a bit then redock it on the module, the simply drive off. then when you take thw prawn suit off the module again you will be on ground while in the middle of the water

personally i did it with 4 extra modules. so my seatruck, storage aquarium sleeper and another storage module then my moonpool. that seems to be long enough to pull it off
