I think the gameplay of BZ is superior to OG, with more base options and the addition of more happening on the surface. Not having the Cyclops is a big loss. IMO, the Seatruck is a fine replacement for the Seamoth, not for the big sub.
I think the Seatruck should have been limited on the number of modules it can tow. Say, two modules, three with the horsepower upgrade. So, you need to choose what modules to take based on the mission. I also think it should really have been a Sea Truck, i.e. an amphibious vehicle which could crawl on land, not able to go very deep. So, you start out with a Seatruck and have to use the Prawn to go deep, then get the Cyclops for late game excursions to the deep biomes.

The map wasn’t designed with the cyclops in mind, so while I understand the love people have for the cyclops from the first game, I don’t get why anyone would think it would work in this game at all The seatruck took some getting used to, granted, but I think it works quite well (other than it could really use more storage than it offers, even in the storage modules, that’s probably my biggest gripe)

Can someone well-versed in the lore answer a major plot question for me? ||If Al-An was sent to 4546B to find a cure for an existing disease that his home planet was already suffering from, how come it further endangered his people when he made his mistake? Like sure he screwed over 4546B, but he implies he's the reason the Architects may be extinct and I just don't get it?||

What I call Chelview.
Get on the ice sheet that runs from land down to nearly delta island, and build a base at the south tip of it. There is a chelicerate you can watch from there, as it sometimes comes shallow enough to surface.
Or if you are daring, you can build down into the water from it, to make an observatory below the surface.

Mine? Its a little bit of a pain. But a distance north of it, there is a bit of an inlet on the side of the sheet you could build on to gain height to reach the top.

Enter a number in the Quantity column beside the item you want to craft. The materials needed to craft that item will be listed to the right. This comes in handy when you want to set up a new base. Put a '1' in the quantity box beside 'Foundation', 'Multipurpose Room', 'Solar Panel', 'Fabricator' and anything else you want to build at your new base and then pack up the required materials. Put a checkmark next to the items you've already fabricated (like advanced wiring kit) and the raw materials needed to create those items will be deducted from the list.

One definite plus to that spot I suggested, is most of your base will be out of water, so no hull integrity issues if you go big.
Just maybe build your docking facilities a good distance away, and get some use out of the snowfox to go back and forth. Shrimpzilla has a bit of a wander radius, and I have had it say hi from 100m away from that southern point.

I don’t think you can find them in upper lilypads, they’re on top of what I call the “ground layer” of the lilypad biome, the part that’s above the lilypad caves (aka where you find the bow of the Mercury 2)

You can eat the peppers you find growing around some places
If you’re playing in survival, if you’ve been to ||marguerite’s greenhouse you can make a spicy salad with Preston’s plant leaves and the peppers, it’s a lot more warming and doesn’t go bad||

As for ice worms, they’re attracted most to vibrations which means any vehicle, less to walking, I find it’s best to pause briefly every now and then when walking
