It's a mixed bag in my book. Below Zero has better quality of life features, an interesting story, and the sea truck generally doesn't drop me to the ocean floor or hurl me across the map like the cyclops does. But the environments are claustrophobic (if you need to put an oxygen plant every 10 meters, you're doing something wrong), and I have nothing but hate for the land areas and the jellyfish.

If you kit out all your vehicles with ion power cells, plus enough to have a couple on the charger, then use the teleporter more than like, 3 times, you can get into trouble in a hurry.
The teleporter is stupid, IMHO. It should pull power from the vehicle's battery. It should use a ton of power, but should be something you can recharge. As it is the teleporter module is almost useless.

I haven't had too much trouble finding gold. Scan room - calaverite - you can find a ton around Delta.
The ones I have trouble finding enough of are magnetite, which is basically unobtanium in BZ and is needed for early game things like the scan room, and lead, of which there seem to be no large deposits.
