It's for generating energy in your base. It's like Solar Panels but more efficient.

Well personally I made my base directly beside the Drop Pod. All you need to start is 3 titanium for a compartment and then an energy source (Solar Panels, Bioreactor, etc.) so that you can breathe and use electricity from the inside.

Just a word - you don't have to build Solar Panels on or attached to the base structure. You can build them on almost any surface. If it's close enough to your base, you'll see an energy beam "transmitting" power to the base. You can extend the range using the Power Transmitter mast thingys.

well I'm pretty sure that is where the saves are located but I can't find a way to restore an older save file as when you load Subnautica it will sync the saves and restore the latest save file. Maybe you could start in offline mode? Not sure.

I'm looking into gamepass save conversion atm. I've got a python script properly extracting the files (which are zlib'd) and the container files give me the names of what each file used to be. It's just a fumblefest to get it all coded

But with the use of zlib and all I have managed to take parts of my xbox game pass save for below zero and convert them to a format that I can read (at the moment this is stuff like options.bin and the save file icon which has been done manually. Ideally this script when I'm done with it will automate everything and allow for drag and drop save relocation to the steam version from XGP)

It's a bit of a challenge either way due to how many files subnautica tends to have for saves and I gotta parse a lot of stuff but it's doable

But uhhhh, if anyone here happens to be pretty decent at python and would be interesting in lending a hand then feel free to dm me because I'm VERY rusty with Python lmao

What are you trying to do exactly? If you have the game on Win Store you get it on Xbox already. If you have it on Steam, you don’t get it on Xbox unless you have the GamePass service

Yeah it's actually hard to find. It's in the lower area of the twisty bridges on the walls

To my knowledge that's about the only place you can find it. Make sure to grab plenty while you're there!

They're scattered along the walls in the deeper parts of Twisty Bridges. Sometimes you get lucky and find larger clumps

You’ll want to explore the deeper twisty area, like 150m or so, you’ll need to stick to the area where there’s oxygen plants to fill up, and I’d definitely have the air bladder tool it’s very useful in getting to the surface in a hurry if you run out of air😉
There’s two very useful finds in that area, namely rebreather and high cap tank databoxes (separate locations)

You can find both mobile vehicle bay and laser cutter fragments in the creepvine forest caves, but sometimes you’ll also spot them along the various levels of the twisty bridges too. It helps a lot if you chose highlight under accessibility options

If you’ve just started out, I recommend…
(1) some of caves you’ll find in the various creepvine forests, most of them will be rich in the deposits that can give silver,
(2) once you get a signal for delta island, head over that way, because the thermal spires zone that encircles it contains a lot of that same outcrop of rock that gives a chance of silver
(3) also, deeper part of twisty bridges has some as well, in fact once you determine the location of the ||SOS signal aka Al-An, not far from there|| in fact it’s almost next door to that place, there’s a large cave network that has a ton of rock deposits that offer a chance at gold, silver, and have ore veins for copper as well as clusters of table coral (just watch out for the crash fish nests). I go resource gathering there a lot early on especially once I have a seatruck, it’s loaded I place a beacon there to remind me of it’s location

Anyone have any theories about when Subnautica takes place? The only in-game reference to a year that I've noticed is in Below Zero, where the PDA talks about a snowfox derby in 2342. The only other possible clue is that a snowfox fragment ||is in Marguerit's base||, which might imply that the snowfox ||has been around for at least 10 years. Though it's also possible that she just stole one from the Alterra crew after they arrived in Sector Zero.|| I don't feel like the absence of the snowfox in Subnautica 1 really means much, because there really doesn't seem to be any reason for the Degasi crew to have built one to use at the Crater even if it did exist at the time, ||so Marguerit might have had access to the blueprint all along, but just didn't bother building one until arriving at Sector Zero||.

if you see purple flame things everywhere on the ground you are in the right biome

yeah that biome, there is one point where it drops off a bit to a deeper elevation, somewhere around there

not gonna tell you exactly what you are looking for because it is pretty cool to see it yourself, but its hard to miss

I've gotten ||I think all the modules for the SeaTruck available, I've even gotten nickel and that blue crytal as well (I forget the name), I've been down to the huge spaceship crash, I've repaired the bridge, been to both of the locations on land, I just can't seem to find the last few architect body parts, when I follow the icons, it just doesn't seem to lead anywhere.

I honestly wish the game had a helpful nudge or prompt for the campaign because as much as I love open-world stuff and don't always need hand-holding, in this situation, I'm literally unsure what I'm supposed to do next? 😦

I've also found the frozen leviathan though I haven't found the cure that her sister hid. Am I supposed to do that next? I have no clue. ||

Below Zero doesn’t have half the scare factor that the first one did, but I don’t know if that’s necessarily a bad thing. Cause I remember having to stop playing the first one at night as it would completely mess with my nightmares lol.
That said, Below Zero seems more doable and doesn’t take forever to get things done. Also, it does look more vibrant and colorful. I love the wintry environments.

You can make coffee and take it with you once you’ve scanned the coffee maker at one of the Alterra locations. Not the easiest to wag around thermos but it works I suppose. Eventually you’ll find some places where you find pepper trees, and once you have some pots scanned you can grow those indoors and take them with you (but keep an eye on their stats, they do decay in value over time). Eventually you’ll find ||a blueprint for a cold suit you scan|| and once you have that it’s much easier to manage the cold. Also you can use certain vehicles on land but I won’t spoil😉

Fired up below zero after a few months break, and suddenly the command console doesn't work. No option to enable it in F3, ~, enter, shift-enter, shift-~, nothing works. Console will absolutely not come up anymore
