I'm currently playing the old story but it of course only goes so far. I still got some stuff left to explore but I'm reaching the end of the old story. so there's not much left of what was at least there at the time

far from. remember I mentioned the shield set up by Jeff and everything? yea as far as I know that's not even in the most updated version of the old story that you can play. I'm not completely sure how far the old story goes but I'll find out in my save. but a majority of the mid to ending of the old story was never developed which is unfortunate. but it makes sense they wouldn't develop something they wouldn't use

when I think about the old story I think it would be cool if someone took it upon themselves to develop the rest of the story. but without access to the below zero project files the best way would be with a mod and without knowing anything about subnautica modding I think it'd definitely be harder to add the old story with a mod compared to adding it to the actual game files

yea true. it's definitely not a small task. it would be rather difficult to do. also to stay true to the developers intentions you'd need access to the storyboard and such. but still. it would be cool to see the old story

it always feels a bit off talking about the old and the new story. cause I don't wanna sound like I think one is better than the other. I think it's just as a player and a fan of subnautica and below zero I'm interested in and curious about what could've been. but I still very much like the new story

Personally I think it would've been better if they stuck with the old one so they didn't have to change the whole game halfway through and figure out other ways to use all their assets, and they wouldn't've had to rush the new story

And the reason they changed it was because people complained it wasn't isolated enough and had too much talking but they say that about the new story so

many speedrunners replaces the clicking with the scroll wheel so they simply has to use the scroll wheel on their mouse to click rather fast in a row. it's pretty effective. I don't use it myself as I prefer to keep clicking on my mouse button but it's a good alternative

I've killed two of them. you gotta start damaging it and use your prawn grappling arm to hold on to the shadow leviathan. the best place to grapple is on top of the shadow leviathan as the bottom has a wider hitbox that can make things confusing. it'll most likely grab you with its jaws at first and start damaging your prawn but it'll only damage around 25-30%. while it's holding you you can hit it with the other prawn arm (preferably use the regular arm with no module as it deals more damage). if you're hitting it while it's jaws are holding you it'll retreat once the animation is done. try and keep up with it and get your grapple on it. you'll have about 10-20 seconds (maybe a little more) when it retreats before it'll re-attack. but if you hit the shadow leviathan it'll retreat again and reset that timer. so all you gotta do is grapple on to it and try to keep hitting it (pro tip, you can hold down the mouse button to keep hitting instead of constantly clicking). to stay on for the longest you use the grapple and feather your thrust with space (tap it as little as possible but just enough to follow it around and to be able to hit it)
