When you deploy it into the world, it will prevent Ice Worms from spawning/attacking in a certain radius. It's pretty useful if you have to repair your vehicles and don't want to get nibbled on.
It is powered via batteries and/or ion batteries. They can be replaced by holding the thumper in your hands and pressing your reload button/key.
My reload key is "R". Because PC and what-not.

The WHOLE map is the same size. There is just a LOT of dead space in BZ's. There is basically nothing in the southwest corner of the map, and a lot of the northwest is empty space between playable sections.

Idk, Subnautica building is just finicky. Stairs however, sometimes are incomplete. But that’s a known bug that I think has been fixed just hasn’t been pushed into updates yet

At first I wanted to go to the deep lilypads, then I realised I havent gotten fragments inside the sea monkeys nest at the normal lilypads, then i stumble upon|| marg's main base|| which reminds me that I haven't scanned everything and gotten everything inside it which then leads me to looking around past her base, turns out theres this whole thermal area where ||marg's journal 1|| is, which has a lot of lithium so I remind myself "oh hey I'm low on that too" and sooner enough my inventory is full and I gotta head to my base which then reminds me "oh hey I forgot to do X"
