Anyone know a good place for lithium
purple vents
Oh mkay thanks
and you won't have to worry about the chelicerate as long as you're close to the thermal spires
the chelicerate is near the border with sparse arctic and arctic
im new to the gae and just got attacked by a cryptosuchus for the first time, i have never swam faster in my life
ps4? reboot it
Don't die
grab materials
build scanner
scan things
build more tools
go to beacons
build a vehicle
explore more
Is it possible to find sea monkey babies near the nests?
No, they have to be hatched.
Ok good to know, because it’s says in their entry stays near the nests and I was wondering since there is pengwing babies in the wild
It's just to add more lore and make the game seem more lifelike.
Go to the purple geyser area and swim away from delta for a while until you see a big red shrimp. Swim up to him and give him a hug.
I finally collected 2 of all the eggs in the game in hardcore and surprisingly the hardest to find was crash fish because all the nests I checked were glitched and had either nothing or sulfer.
I’m going to make a big facility to house them all in the tree spires
Didnt even know you could get squidshark eggs
Yeah, only two exist and they're in the Deep Lilypad Caves.
That's not a bug.
what's that 1x2 egg
Eye Jellies.
They lay a lot of eggs.
Will they breed
I don't think so. Which is okay because you an easily get like 40 eggs by visiting the Glacial Connection.
I think he was asking about squid shark which I believe breed In containment
It really seemed like it, I searched over 10 plants and only got one egg, and recently I went out and angered 3 crash fish each giving me an egg when I didn’t need them anymore
bobux
Sir, this is a Wendy's Below Zero chat.
y this here
even though its unrelated, please do not click on the link for the love of god its probably a cookie logger lol
u offended ?
fr
very off topic
bloxfarm is a cookie logger lmfao
squidsharks breed in containment yes, but they dont lay more eggs outside of containment
other than the ones in the deep lilypads
bread
Ugh, my thermal plants are not connecting again...
There is a full power link but they're not connected somehow
Stop pinging m8
nooooo it’s 3am
?
Ugh, finally
y u no ping
not so nice of yall
wow u lot are so brutal
is Adisole muted?
Nope.
ok
@zealous vault
lol why do people join just to troll
no no man i want friends
people actually think they're funny when they do this stuff
who do we ping? mods?
I was going to do that but it was just taken care off.
Mhm, I'm in between missions and decided to swing by 😛
i thought pinging mods would be a bad thing since it pings the whole mod team
If it's for a good reason then no, not a bad thing at all. You're encouraged to.
Classic you. :3
So for some reason my power generation keeps stabilising around the current use?
If I disable my scanner room it's +0,45/-0,45, and if I enable it it's +0,61/-0.61.
I have more than enough solar panels that it shouldn't be an issue.
Or is this just because my bioreactor is empty and it's trying to balance the power with nowhere to store it?
No, that doesn't seem to be the case either.
I'm confused, but hopefully restarting the game might help.
wheeze
should i bring my entire seatruck to prawn ladys base
Obligatory "there's a mod for that on PC"
OK I didn't know that since I'm only on console
That's a shame, but don't feel too bad. It's extremely power-hungry and can't be used very long.
Yep
tfw it's harder to find table coral in BZ than the original game
just crafted an enderchest
to be honest, it would be kinda worth it for how hard some resources are to find, something like nickel
although we have the mineral detector
I love the idea of it too, and was really excited when I saw the mod. Just wish it ran on powercells instead of batteries so it could last longer.
The BZ wiki seems a lot more sparse than the original, this is gonna be annoying
If you need help with anything just ask.
It's not as common as it was in SN1, true. But it's still common enough in the twisty bridges. Explore 100m+ ish and it's all over the walls.
yeah, that's where I found just enough to get my base going - getting the builder tool was the last thing I needed XD
That's one thing that's easier than SN1, anyway
theres a small kind of hole in the ground in the twisty bridges, and there is a ton in just that hole
it isnt that difficult to find
Getting your own base
are you talking about the scanner room mod or the actual mineral detector? because if you need to separately fuel the room from the seatruck then i see what you mean lol
Scanner room mod and yes, you have to power it separately. The benefit is that it can be used away from your Seatruck but it doesn't run long due to being extremely power hungry.
Completely unplayable, smh
lmao
one time a boomerang fish got stuck in my seatruck after i took it out of the moonpool
i just got out and observed
whats the best way to charge a seatruck, moonpool or power cell charger
moonpool
🔼
- the moonpool is also a place to put your seatruck which can be helpful to avoid fauna in the area, etc. overall its just better
how do i get a moonpool, im currently using a power cell charger
you can get one at the ||koppa mining site||
I'm so glad I don't have to go hunting for hours for a modification station in this game
in a data box
fr, i hated how hard it was to get one in SN
where is the ||koppa mining site||
I have basically everything in SN, yet I STILL can't find the final Stasis Rifle fragment
I got the Cyclops, Prawn Suit, and Seamoth really quickly
Should I be afraid of ||Artifact PK8?||
no
this is below zero
ye
I'm comparing the two games
and complaining about how hard the stasis rifle was to find in SN
none of the ||artifacts|| are harmful, infact some give hints to locations you will need to beat the game
where do i get lithium
I meant the environment and creatures around it.
Thermal Spires and Purple Vents
I think ||Chelicerates|| can spawn.
is it just me, or is the battery charger slower in this game?
nope
thanks
theres nothing harmful there
chelicerates are just giant shrimp
how do i know you aren’t lying tho
with lots of teeth
the location leading into it has a TON of helpful resources
there's a leviathan
how bruh ive been there 3 times
It's the inactive volcano one
I know there’s at least one ||Chelicerate.|| But can it follow me down into the volcano?
i mean if there is, as long as you have a repair tool you should be fine
no
i dont think so
at least it didn't to me
it probably cant fit into the small hole that you have to go through
Small hole? Big enough for ||Prawn?||
I parked my seatruck above the tigher hole because it was too deep and it was fine
I miss the brain coral
oxygen plants better
SAME
the cyclops was nice, ye
the bases you could build in there were amazing
fr tho, I prefer the brain coral over the oxygen plant
you could literally make it a mobile base
you can sit on a brain coral and fully refill your oxygen, can you do that with a single oxygen plant?
yeah i like both of them
yeah there's so much stuff you can't put in the seatruck and the storage is so inneficient in the truck
well, you could put mods on to increase storage but that kinda takes away from playing the game completely legit
and the cyclops was just better because you could put literally anything in the habitat builder in it
true, I got one anyway though, haven't set it up yet
honestly, my main base became nearly completely obsolete once I got the Cyclops
Just needed to make a pit stop to swap out power cells every 20-30 min
i wouldnt say that about mine, an actual base has a lot of advantages over the cyclops
but the cyclops is amazing no doubt
So I made a second base close to the west end of the map powered by some nearby geothermal vents for a second power cell charging station
Yeah I went back to my main base a lot even though I probably could've not
as long as you can keep the Cyclops topped off on power, you don't really need another base if the Cyclops doesn't get destroyed by a leviathan lol
I spammed a ridiculous amount of wall storage lockers inside the Cyclops, as well as a fabricator
I'd be gone from my base for hours at a time
alright maybe we should go back to talking about BZ considering this is the chat lmao
same, if it wasnt for that i wouldnt have found most of the nickel i needed to progress the game
like, is it just me, or is nickel WAYYYY rarer in this game
I was so desperate for a scanner room in SN XD but now it's less necessary
idk, I just started
Yeah I'd agree, there aren't drillable ones anymore
oof
im glad they kept it in tho, it can be really helpful for finding a lot of a recourse without having to move around alot
ye
i really wish there was a crouch function in subnautica
im stuck on a piece of terrain because im too tall
Do creepvines grown in a growbed give seeds/lubricant?
if you plant the seeds yes
thanks
if you plant the samples it will be one of the creepvines that doesn't have seeds when it grows

rippp
Did you scan it and then craft it using the blueprint?
new question, how do i get a ||parallel processing unit||
The fragments are found in the ||Mercury II wrecks||. Here's a guide on how to find them.
||https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TOL4FO31xY||
In this Subnautica Below Zero guide, I will be walking you through, where to find all the Parallel Processing Unit Fragments. The three fragments required are all within one location and this guide will also demonstrate what equipment you will need to unlock the blueprint.

which i need a laser cutter for
Yes.
which i need diamonds for, which i do not have
The easiest place to get Diamonds IMO is in the Deep Twisty Bridges. The biome is found underneath the cracks in the floor of the Twisty Bridges.
I was looking and couldn't find any lol, I probably didn't go deep enough
should probably make a truck
The two biomes look different. Here's a comparison.
250 - 380 meters deep.
oof
i found a lobster boi
rock puncher
also whats with the big mountain
can i go there?
i will never forgive you

where is the frozen leviathen cave thingy
Here's a guide on how to reach the cave.
||https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_L_hhKDIvSM||

ffs, I sprinted into the railing to exit my base and got stuck on it for a couple seconds before I clipped out of it lol
i think it's on planet 4546b
I just found the pet thats in the game so my new mission is to get to my seatruck
must protecc pett
arctic kelp caves
what the hecc the ice worm did 3 different attacks at once (he poked his nose out, then swooshed his head than did a long l=nose dive, avoiding that is crazy hard lmao
In this Subnautica Below Zero guide, I will show you where to find the laser cutter fragments to unlock the blueprint. We will head East, towards the Arctic Kelp Caves and search the Sea Monkey nests for the fragments. In the walkthrough, I will also give recommendations of the equipment that you will need, which includes the mineral detector an...
sometimes in sea monkey nests, sometimes on the floor
lol I just found 3 fragments right next to each other
you only need 1 XD
God, they're everywhere
I swear I saw like 8 different laser cutter fragments
ok now i can’t find the ||first body cache||
Here's a guide on how to find it.

Yay, Rebreather!

ngl, I prefer the SN recipe for enameled glass over the BZ recipe for it
this ice worm wont let me leave this cave lmao
You shall not pass
...and just like that, I've found several ||ion cubes||, I never got that far in SN
What to sack, what to sack...
Wow this games blows. I was building Alan and he just stood in place and nothing happened
Lucky I saved it 10 mins ago but how can you f*** up that part?
xDD I was just attacked by a snow stalker than a iceworm jumped in mid attack
and they are still attacking which is unerving since im low on health, like just leave me be for a minute xD
it wotn leave me alone
and im dead
ok phew i didnt lose my egg
are thermal power plants a thing in this game?
you have 2 eggs right
yes, fragments are in the ||Koppa Mining Site and Tree Spires fissures||
wait is that the shadow leviathan area?
no
oh
deep twisty bridges
mk thx
You did go up and interact with his body, yes?
It wouldn't let me and I just encountered another bug whenever you get those robot arms
Twisty Bridges is a good place for your base really
Is it just me or the prawn suit was useless in this game?
But ores?
It falls so much slower so it can go faster than in the og
Like I got in it once and that was it lol
And lastly do you just leave Marguerite behind?
Yeah she's doing fine on her own
Rip
One more thing
Maybe it was just me. But I was lost in the story
And I felt the game was rushed near the end
when i watched play throughs of both games i felt below zero had a shorter story
It does
where are the ||architect organs|| located?
||Deep Lilypad Caves, where the Cotton Anemones are||
isnt that the ||skeleton|| bc ive searched there
oh wait yeah it is sorry
lol its good
That'd be in the ||Crystal Caves||
thank you Commander Gav and thank you Sargent LoganFive
You'll want to look for a ||chandelir like crystal formation inside a ring of crystals with gaps, kinda looking like teeth in a not fully closed mouth is really the best way I can describe it||
ahh ive seen that in creative while "accidently" noclipping
Sargent ToastedBlender, Status: Alive, Task: Look For ||The Architect Organs For Subject: AL-AN||

hmm
mmm snow delicious
Logan, I have sad news.
While I was in the ||Crystal Caves a Shadow Leviathan attacked and broke my prawn suit...||

Rest in pieces PRAWN, you will be missed
I always took my Seatruck with Perimeter Defense and an afterburner, you can zap em with the pds when they get you and they'll drop you
i am curently searching all of the ||alien parts|| for al-an and i have no idea how to get to the Q59 thing
oh look, a penny
||this will be a spoiler|| ||it will then look like this||
the thing is i don´t have that symbol
Do |this| but add another | to both
Ever heard of Ctrl v Ctrl c
that's a dirty Keyboard xD
Thats very true XD
Also what kind of keyboard is that, it looks like its from the 2010 s
It says skiller pro
Bruh
I got the + version (Sharkoon Skiller Pro+) as a backup in case I ever break a keyboard^^
And this is my mouse (I Love this boiii)
honestly, nothing wrong with budget keyboards tho, some of those and even mouses are actually fairly good! some people don't spend all their cash on hardware^^
And even tho it doesn't look good in the first view this Monitor is aaawesome
this is no longer bz related tho ladies 😄
I play on a dell desktop with a crappy keyboard and a crappy mouse
xD
hello off topic chat
cough xD
the thing is when it was like 37 degrees celcius (96 degrees fahrenheit) i always had to put a veeery loud fan in front of my pc
well... oups
to get to bz again: am i the only one that thinks the hub (02, water etc.) looks much less pixelated then in the first game?
the HUD meters have been tweaked several times in beta
anyone else having problems with large rooms?
i can't deconstruct partitions nor the alien containment
that tends to happen if there is another unfinished part somewhere
yeah it happened before with a semi-constructed alien containment in a room that i could'nt get into but i've been looking around and everything seems to be finished
it's also possible that there is another attachment blocking your deconstruction, top left corner of the screen usually tells you what the issue is
OR you have a full inventory, you can not deconstruct things so as long as your inventory is full
aight nvm im stupid i forgot i had i half constructed glass dome on top of the room and i just didnt see it
thanks for the help tho
you got any games on ur phone
i can´t even build´em because they´re bigger then all of the shallows XD
my game freezes a lot but it hardly ever crashes
when it does crash tho, my whole compuster has to restart
it does the :( blue screen
the one with the :( face in it
Is it overheating?
||marg|| lived the life of a heroine
my fan does get a lot louder yes
yes put an extra fan infront of your pc. i have to do that too
i put an eraser under it
PC? in settings, limit FPS to 60
thats what happened to me too. just take a fan that has a bit of power, put it infront of your pc and it should be fine
runs a lot cooler
I suggest checking the temperatures of your CPU & GPU. If they get too hot it's common for your PC to shut itself off.
If this is indeed the case with your CPU, wiping off the old thermal paste and replacing it with fresh paste may help.
If it's your GPU, could be a few different options. If it's something else like your power supply, replace it asap.
ok ill look into it then
are my specs good for subnautica and sbz?
here they are: CPU Intel core I5-4590 3.30GHz / 8GB ram / GTX 750 Ti
it should run OK
why isnt there warpers in bz
Presumably, because they were only needed to quarantine the planet and the virus was cured in SN, so no warpers. As you may recall they stopped attacking you after you cured yourself.
mk
the devs need to fix the several easy ways to get out of bounds
is ||AL-AN|| a communist, he keeps saying We

Oof I finished Below zero and it was okay imo
Now I know it's hard to beat the original game. But I didn't understand the story that much and the different biomes felt dead
Would creating a mobile operations unit at the ||Robotics Lab || recommended?
Like a mini base to store everything that I find there
maybe at the dock
I was planning on creating one at the Beacon
Would it be better to put it at the dock
it's not far, so no big deal
don't bother xD
I want to stay out there as long as possible
Without having to go back home to transfer items
trust me, the scanner room is not gonna improve your pathfinding, it's annoying to "read" the map because of all the tunnels and caves
I have the HUD Chip
uhm... that does not help you reading the map? xd
It shows me the items that im scanning for
Im bringing a scanner room for the pengling research
it won't help you find your way around, trust me, i tried it, got sick of it and annoyed by it REALLY quickly
just go exploring, bring some beacons and mark all explored caves as well as entries to new areas
Alr
hey guys are snow stalkers supposed to have a downtime for attacking you since one attacked me over and over and killed me in like 20 seconds
other than that, minerals for a simple base room and energy source might be beneficial too
or just knife them, lol
when it starts its attack animation, take two steps back, then step back in and knife
do that 3 or 4 times, or maybe 5 times, and it's gone
I tried stabbing tjem but it didnt care
Flare
and i didnt have any flares
they won't run away like leviathans, but they take damage and eventually die
only takes a few stabs
yeah, as i said, time your attacks and sidesteps and the stalker is easily killed
also a ice worm popped its head on me mid animation and then he stabed me mid animation again lmao
you can also kite it into a more open space and then as soon as it starts attacking you, you can start running circles around it while knifing it, will die quickly enough but it's a little more difficult to avoid it's attacks like this
i dodged and weaved it once but then I couldnt outrun it xD
btw where do i find the alien containment
the tank? In one of the two large wrecks. Probably the biggest one in west lilypads
think i should get some more horsepower? I have 1 rn
It probably does not stack, although some say it does
I looked at the wiki and it says it stacks
of Modules Max Speed Without Upgrade Max Speed Actual Speed Increase With Upgrade Upgrade Speed Actual
0 100% 9.18 m/s +0% (100%) 9.18 m/s
1 100% 9.18 m/s +0% (100%) 9.18 m/s
2 66% 6.14 m/s +30% (87%) 8.01 m/s
3 50% 4.60 m/s +35% (68%) 6.21 m/s
4 40% 3.67 m/s +40% (55%) 5.09 m/s\
it has ONE speed "with upgrade"
i'm not sure you read that accurately, iirc this refers to speed lost in correlation to the amount of modules attached to the seatruck.
it does NOT refer to speed benefits with multiple horsepower upgrades!
o
I know. This hints at a 2nd one having no effect. But it's possible
where can i find rubies
I'd say it hints at additional ones not being beneficial enough in comparison to other available upgrades, to be considered. Might mean noone bothered or it does not work, tho
koppa mine, deep lilypads (flowering spore biome)
also aren't rubies in deep twisty bridges too?
I think not
what crystal am i thinking of then 🤔
diamonds, lithium, gelsacks
diamonds, right xD
Imagine if there was a lighting rod that you could use for power generation during electric storms
Twisty Bridges is the best place to build a base
I really want to see that as a mod and well i'm willing to play with mods since i finished the game once and willing to play with mods
Weather has no impact on the game though, except for temperature drop on land^^
yeah I noticed it only influences temperature drop
I finished the game and I just want to play with mods for more flavor
and maybe see a mod like that
I am literally doing my 2nd playthrough
i genuinely hope the next one finally features some coop content :x
What was the point of the huge jellyfish biome?
You only get one thing and that was it
original SN was initially developed to be coop but that was VERY early on then discarded and it was turned into SP only instead 😦
that's the point^^
also visual diversity
Nitrox can bring some co-op
oh i know but it's buggy af^^
super glitchy and it should come round to below zero once it reaches a stable version
But it just felt the biomes were dead and lacking
that's why i said i hope the next one features a native coop experience
Like the biomes in the original game felt alive and diverse
am gonna say again what i said a while ago, a lot of the biomes are from when the game had a different story!
but to me it felt like the devs left out things even from the new story, cut them, for the benefit of releasing a stable game in time instead of having to delay it more.
well time to mod the hell outta my save
already have qmod and sml prior to starting this save
cause i needed to add fast loading screen mod which removes a framerate cap
honestly i don't FULLY agree with that comparison, SN1 had way larger biomes but they weren't necessarily more "alive"
Nah I disagree
The lost river and the tree felt magical and alive. The crystal cave and jellyfish biome felt like it was an after thought
And did they change the story mid way through development?
yeees.
story was revised, yes
Oof
the old story actually had a much bigger emphasis on Marguerit since you needed to get a precursor tablet from them
also is it just me or has ublock origin made it so on nexusmods you don't have to wait to download mods on the slow download
at least i can click on spoilers without getting anything spoiled cause i finished below zero
you are ruining lunch. Her lunch.
how many ||ice worms|| are in ||artice spires||
idk
there isn't a limited amount of them
i think 3?
well thats mean
hard to count. Probably 1
i just wanna scan the artifacts
The ice worm isn't a standard entity
@echo aspen there are some areas safe from ice worm
where does it start appearing
about 20m into arctic spires
it's extremely rare, you're better off going to the deep lilypads entrance
where are the safe spots
you'll have to find that out yourself
mainly cause they're hard to explain where they are
mainly cause there's plenty of them
Anyways let's go spicing up my 2nd below zero playthrough with mods
won't cause issues cause i had qmod and sml added prior to starting this save
There's something i learned
ideally, you would be in truck with perimeter defense. That module is manually operated
that is never leave your vehicle in crystal caves unless you know you're in a safe area
The parked truck is safe. Prawn is not, except in June/July builds
yeah i noticed in #dev-check-ins that shadow now attacks empty prawn suits
a few weeks maybe months ago
reverse: the attacking was removed
am i this bad at reading
Yes.
in may build, it gets attacked
It was indeed the other way around, it doesn't attack empty suits in a future update.
so spicing up my 2nd below zero playthrough with mods
by far the best op one is seaglide overcharge
Is there a good way to scan the ||chelicerate|| Im missing my stasis rifle rn
well if you're mad enough you could perimeter defense them and while the chelicerate is fleeing you could scan them
you can't get the stasis without cheats. Swim on its back, it can't eat you there
no
Dang it
wait. Maybe
I can test later
Killing it is an idea. A few truck bumps should do it. less than 20 anyway
I think I'll try the perimeter defense method because I dont want to kill it
well thanks for telling me statis rifle is still in
just spawned one in cause i can
yes it does work
as if i would take this 2nd playthrough seriously
doesn't work on the worm, otherwise it's fine
though the holding animation is kinda glitched out
seems hasn't received much attention
least it still has a functioning inspect animation
the worm might be why stasis is not in game
people actually didn't use the statis rifle that often to freeze something and then to scan it
they just froze it and ran away
and well I find perimeter defense to be a good replacement for it
I only used the stasis rifle to either kill something or scan it
to just swim away safely, a flare works
Otherwise I would just throw up the cyclops shield
Agreed
What's a good place to make a base?
well titanium won't be an issue with extravagant gifts mod, a sea monkey just gave me a piece of metal salvage
I would say lilypads since it's pretty resource rich, if you build close to marguerit's base there's a path to deep purple vents
somewhere around
i would also choose near Delta Station, its central to everything around it, as well as having the mining site near to it as well, and one could build on land to not be in danger
hmm a sea monkey gave me an ion cube then went head first into my seatruck
Hey all, I am on PC and trying to get thermal power going. For some reason they are adding to my max power copacity at my base put not power input. I have them literally on top of an underwater volcano and they go between 80c and 200c. power line from them to my base is up. Any ideas?
Thermal Placement
power input to base
maybe restart the game, could maybe jsut be a bug, or just rebuild the thermal plants
maybe that works
Check top of screen. if it says 1800/1800 all the internal batteries are full, and you won't get power added
👍
Every power source has a battery, eg. solar panel has 75
It was day time. I only have solar and thermal. So once it goes to night I dont get any more power coming in.
Correct
ahh makes sence
Where power is drawn from is a mystery though
yes
no.. the solar cell batteries can still be full, if not drained
fair. But the thermal cells will only charge thermal cells?
i mean it would still probalby be used by any charging devices or so
Just trying to figure out how things work so bear with me. Lets say it was always night and my base was at zero power. Would my 2 thermals be able to charge the base past 500? Or would, in that scenario, the battery capacity from the solar be useless?
Is there a way to inject Subnautica's content into BZ? Like I'd like to import a Seamoth because I don't quite like the Seatruck, and IMO it lacks sonar
Also I'm a bit disappointed there is no "big submarine" like the Cyclops in BZ, I might want to import that too
Ah I just tested that theory. The thermal plants will in fact only charge their own battery capacity. Tor down all my solar and the numbers now make sense. Thanks for the help @eternal garnet
Well the seamoth is actually already in BZ but without textures. I suppose it was used as reference
A cyclops would probably be extremely difficult to maneuver
true
But again is there possibly a way to import the sonar module?
And a working (and if possibly textured) Seamoth?
the sonar works in the seamoth
as for texture, a mod should be able to do that. Haven't looked
Yes but since the Seamoth isn't really included in BZ I would want to import the sonar onto the Seatruck
I already went to the ||architect body cache|| waypoint and I'm out of ideas on what to do.
You can’t just “import” game files from Subnautica to BZ that I’m aware of. The items must be in BZ “somewhere” and be able to be functional I think. Unless someone can manage to mod them in
Imo you don’t need sonar for BZ. The map doesn’t feel as big and some of the playable area is on land.
And cyclops wouldn’t work, the map was designed around using the seatruck
Just play awhile you get used to it.
I would recommend exploring any waypoints you haven't yet and/or start exploring on land
If you haven't already
do you even know the actual meaning of the term "gay"? xD
I'm pretty sure that's the joke
pretty sure it's not 😄
the term gay literally means "to be happy" or "to enjoy life" xD
it's just that it degenerated over the past 60-70 years into derogate usage as an insult toward male homosexuals^^
but it's actual meaning is not even remotely related to sexuality^^
he was making a very terrible pun, but entirely unrelated to the terms origin meaning^^
just wanted to know whether he had any clue about the term he was making a pun about^^
I don't think the original meaning of words really has any bearing on what they mean today
wdym cynical it meant happy you just said that
it just degenerated in appliance or meaning over the last half century
yes, but people started using it cynically in relation to male homosexual people
to make fun of them, verbally discriminate them without actually attacking or insulting them
but because of precisely that particular use, it turned into a very derogate term itself and nowadays often is being associated with negative impression
My sister is lesbian and she doesn't think gay is like derogatory at all
oh no, homosexuals often don't care
but it's still intended/used in a derogate way
similar to the term "Nerd"
if you call a gamer a "nerd" they likely won't care, maybe even laugh. But if someone else calls you a nerd, it likely is done so with a negative or derogate intent
Back on topic, nerds ❤️
sorry, just trying to drop a little bit of knowledge 😛
hope i did not overstep any boundaries with that
thanks, just found the deep purple vents and crystal caves while exploring
one last thing on that topic though, cause i was about to hit enter on that sentence:
in the 30/40's it was actually a thing to say "I'm feeling gay today" and it meant simply "I am really happy today" or "I feel really invigorated today" 🙂
That's where the term originally comes from 😉
(And that's where it turned cynically "Haha, look at him, he enjoys life/himself")
/end of todays lesson 😛
cyclops cooler, seatruck more manoeuvrable
who needs maneuverability when you can stick a PRAWN or Seamoth inside it
your seatruck has a prawn docking module too, just saying xD
Yeah I didn't say it didn't
Thanks!
is there anyway to backup a save?
you trying to cheese hardcore? xD
no, i lost 40 hours save in the first game and i dont want to experience this again hahaha
i didn't even start playing yet
(lost it to a bug)
Are you playing on PC?
If so, then you can find your saved games in the SubnauticaZero\SNAppData\SavedGames\ folder, or by going into the game properties on Steam and browsing Local Files. (The drive Below Zero is located on will differ depending on where you chose to store the game.)
Save often. If on pc, consider finding and copying the save folder so you have more than one
the point with copying is, you may want an older save
you know you can configure multi cloud backups?^^
where instead of replacing changed files, it adds them ^^
try to do that with the 2964 files in one save folder
"Hollow Chamber in IceBerg detected"?
How far is the hollow chamber
@eternal garnet Any idea?
it would be within 50m
it's not important, but has goodies for those with a laser cutter
isn't that the glacial tunnel?
I have an app of the island I'm going to the one thats circled
that would be more than "just goodies" ||it leads straight to the Glacial Basins||
I think Ive been there
||Robotics centre ||
@random compass That message popped up on my way back to the ||robotics centre||
it hasnt come up before
thank you
I got confused about it for a while too don't worry, could not actually locate what it was referring too but... I was just told it refers to the glacial tunnel^^
i have a mobile operations unit in that area iirc
the ||basin||
its a mini base I use for storage and heat if needed
If I press the vehicle upgrade console on my ||hoverbike|| it doesn't do anything
that's just there to display charge and repair
Why does it have an upgrade console button
does it? Also it can make a new bike
Also is it possible to increase my range on my pengling
no
if it's the one I think, it goes sideways. So move toward that way before starting
it's got a desk?
mine has a desk or maybe just boxes
I was standing by a vent so I get heated up while using it
@eternal garnet I was able to get a pda
where does sam story end
At the ||frozen leviathan|| I think
yes
there's a PDA that many people miss, ||in the blue rubble. And you can cure the beast||
bruh
I glitched under the map
I got off of my hoverboard thingy and it glithced me under
but that's like, illegal man
it loads a save or it gets the hose again
||the antitode is here||
@eternal garnet Am I supposed to get an achievement for getting it? I think I didn't get one for the game bugging
no
Well Ig I have it now lmaao
wait, need to check
using the ||cure ||has an achievement
hopefully I wont need to
Unlocked 14 Nov, 2020
So some robot dude just went inside my brain
nice
I’m only an 1 hour and a half into the game is that supposed to happen
upper twisty bridges, and near the island south
uh, not sure you should tell him immediately
done hopefully he forgets
I have forgotten
Or if you See a broken ship about 20 to 40 Meters down near the island search there. Not only seatruck but many Modules for it
that's like a lot later
Oh sorry i Went there pretty early
Save often, there is no autosave
good
Yeah I already learned that the hard way
Ooooooh yes i'm getting flashbacks to Loosing hours of progress in the first game because my game always crashed
^
Is there a reason to Not go there early?
no thats fine
Ok
if you do things in the wrong order, you may struggle a bit more
me has five hours of pure story gameplay which is all unsaved and and an annoying sister = depression
235h played. Since nearly 2 years
And i thought my 14 hours where imoressive
accuration ( i know thats not a word)
i only have like 12 hours of play time
In the first i had about 3 to 4 days
forgot i actually had like 30 hours of gameplay lost because that world got corrupted
Yessss got all my sea truck fragments
I almost lost my und and a half day file
nice
It was scary as shiiiiiii i can't say that here or i'll get waaaarned
Und? Are you german or did you mean to Type and XD
You said und
does anyone know what this is i found it in the glacil bay and it doesnt let me in?
I got not clue what that is
hey mods what would happen if i swore rn (which i won't) with how many times i have been muted
i think a glitch spawned
it's an exit only, it opens from the other side.
You’d probably just get warmed since it’s not that bad of an offence
it creates a shortcut for going back
I think you would just be warned by the bot again
tru
Bot removes post though, so no point
ik
I've been muted before i kinda wanna try XD
Not sure you want to know he. ||find the other end||
it's late i gtg
Bye byyyye
how many modules can you put on a seatruck
A lot, but it gets slower
well ik that but could you make a tunnel of modules across the maps
Not sure why you would want to do that. No idea if there is a total limit
omg thanks for the idea
gonna do that
That would be pretty awesome if you made a tunnel you can walk straight through across the whole map 🤔
diamonds early game are literally the death of me
Ok so now that I have sea truck would I be able to go to that ladies house
yes i just did that
Alright cool
Why would you not built a tunnel with the habitat builder. It's way more convenient, needs less resources and allows for windows
well if you use the sea truck you can have easily storage and fabricator and beds without collecting the resources for those thing
I don’t have the habitat builder yet
That's too mainstream, maan. We're hipsters over here.
Do you guys think I need any more ion cubes?
yes
for what
yes
?
he is trolling you
If I use commands to get me unstuck I take it that disables achivements?
yes, forever in that save
save often
Will have to keep that in mind unfortunatly its never been my strong suite
Set a timer 😏
Where is the ||frozen leviathan||? I’ve been searching for over 30 minutes and I can’t find it
And where are some ||snow fox|| fragments? I have 2/3 of the fragments but I can’t find the last one
the pieces are scattered in the snow.
Do you have the ice map? it's scannable in Phi. On it, ||it's by the bottom left tower||
The ||glacial basin map||?
I got to the ||frozen leviathan|| and got the dialogue between ||robin and alan|| and I’ve completed the story between ||robin and marg|| but idk what to do now
...is it just me, or did I just get told "phallic intake recommended" when my food counter ran low?
I miss the Seamoth...
||Complete Alan's story||
Yea but where do I go
Depends on what you've done so far
Me too...
I miss the Cyclops
That was a pretty cool vehicle as well.
It was such a huge powerful fully functional submarine
The seatruck is like a seamoth with some prebuilt things and innefficient use of space
Still kinda scared from when ||a Reaper Leviathan grabbed my seamoth ||
Yeah that was scary and original
Then they took that attack style and slapped it on everything in bz
I mean all the hostile water Leviathans
Agreed.
I feel like all Leviathan's grab your vehicle in bz
lol I got nommed on by some sort of leviathan awhile back, but when I clicked it let me go, so I just shrugged and swam away
Yeah they don't really do a ton of damage
You can use in game commands to get the seamoth. However, the seatruck without attachments has same speed as seamoth, is thinner front to back, but taller up to down, and has 20x the health.
The seamoth dies in a couple hits that the seatruck barely takes damage from, like bumping the wall
The only thing the seamoth is better for is the solar charger and the torpedos if you are in to that
Torpedos suck lmao
But the prawn thermal charger is pretty good
The seatruck has really grown on me
Get a storage and fabricator together, esp with an ion cell, and you can compress resources out on a run, makes it SOO much better than used to be with either seamoth or clunky cyclops
Going on a quick run, or somewhere that’s a tight fit? Just leave modules behind and come back for back for them later
The modularity is really handy
I mostly prefer the Seamoth due to how much easier it is to get into tight spaces with it
But then again
I've yet to unlock any modules, so who knows how much I'll like the Seatruck
I wish it had more storage room, but beyond that, I like it pretty well
Is there any infinite resource source like the depth striders in SN?
Not really but I feel like resources, once you know where to find them, are generally easier to come by in BZ
mk
the single biggest issue with moving my base right next to delta dock is that there's hardly any fish around, so I'm constantly running out of water XD
literally waiting on my spiral plants to grow so I can get some upgrades...

I see. Yeah it’s helpful to get the storage upgrade especially but I don’t want to spoil if you’re wanting to hunt that down on your own
I don’t think I did for awhile my first time thru either😂
I didn’t know where anything was
^^
I actually checked the wiki for diamonds and spiral plant, so I could make the depth upgrade lol
yuuuup
Had to check the wiki for the spiral plant, magnetite, and various other things lol
You actually can find diamonds in deep twisty, which I didn’t know, but you do have to be careful of some hazards and a somewhat dangerous creature down there (if you’ve never been).
heyoooo, happened to have nickel ore and kyanite on hand already, so I get to skip straight to depth mk 3 XD
Ye, I went to deep twisty
It does beat going all the way out to look for the mine, which is what I did my first time🤣
I don't need to make my own base deep underwater now cause the truck can now hit 1000 meters
Poggers
I almost drowned several times lol, had to eat a few bladderfish
This oxygen plants do help
there aren't any where I was diving
Yeah they’re not everywhere
I found exactly one magnetite there and immediately used it on the scanner HUD chip
It’s a good use tho
hell yeah it is
would be nice to get some range upgrades for the scanner room tho...
I need an aquarium so I can breed bladderfish lol
While I don't think Below Zero is as good as the original, one of my favorite additions(and something I hope to see implemented in Subnautica II is the implementation of a functioning ROV
Given, it's only a land, not a sea ROV, but still, it has a lot of potential
playing with an ROV in a Subnautica game for is so cool
I mean, like PURPOSEFUL ROVs
You mean SN 3. BZ is considered “SN 2”
The camera drones have always been just a pointless feature in both games
they are cool, but hardly necessary and are limited in functionality
It's a half-sequel, is it not?
ye, I never used them
Because this was supposed to just be DLC originally
It’s technically named Subnautica: Below Zero
Started out as DLC but was made into a sequel, but can be played as stand alone too
It is a half-sequel though
considering it's about half Subnautica's length
and almost exactly half the size, too
Idk that length really matters so much to what determines if it’s a sequel
Content definitely does
The devs worked hard and they consider it a sequel, that’s good enough for me
Below Zero is just big enough to look intimidating and easy to get lost, but just small enough that you actually can't in almost any biome for long, which is a big difference from the first game
Very bad glitch
Besides you can’t really just compare the two games exactly, because their play is very different. It’s a lot like an apples and oranges thing imo
One is a narrative adventure and the other isn’t
I like subnautica 1 but I enjoyed sub bz
I have baby versions of the same general idea, load-in issues, primarily with player-built land bases when I'm gone for a while
Everything is fine except for one thing
the stairs. They often take a long time to load in
True
Stairs? For land bases? Like hatches open onto land?
Stairs to elevated land bases, yes
Ok, just wanted to make sure I understood👍
I have yet to make much building on land
I always keep them pretty high up so I can fit my Prawn under them
so I don't block paths
The Snowfox is shorter, but it's terrible, can't mine LRDs, and has no storage
The main issues I have, with stuff being slow loading in (some of this I’m not sure if it’s just console play) is the stupid kelp roots in lilypads catching on my seatruck when I’m searching around so I have to remember to go pretty slow thru there, I mean it’s a bit tight anyway
Not kelp roots but the lily roots whatever lol
They’ll sometimes just “materialize” in front of my seatruck
Subnautica III really needs a new engine or something
Unity still does the trick
Lol I'm completely lost in the deep lily pads
Because Below Zero takes an everpresent original Subnautica issue, and turns it up to 11
I said MOST biomes, not all
Deep Lily Pads Cave is REALLY easy to get lost in
Look up the entrance to deep lilypads is a crevice
I've never gotten lost in it, not even on my first playthrough
I did and all I see is cave ceiling lol
and I've literally never used beacons on that save
I'm in my truck tho, so no big issue
but it's one of the few exceptions to the rule that most Below Zero biomes are nigh-impossible to get lost in for almost any time at all
quick question do you know how orange spikey traps look
??? What're those
It waves it's tentacles in the air waiting for a victim to grab
in deep lilypads it's kinda covered
idk
and it will start dragging you in and you need to swing at it
Subnautica and Below Zero, particularly Below Zero, have MAJOR issues with base collision
yeah but that's not a game engine issue
Subnautica gets AI fish school effects swimming in bases
The spikes traps have different colors depending on biome
And I hate them
But now at least I know what to look for👀
It also applies to NP Bases as well
stop complaining about visual issues, sometimes they're tied to graphics settings and maybe the code is old and getting buggy
my base is just below the water's surface and I keep getting weather effects inside of it, it's incredibly distracting
like the skyboxes affect NP bases, when it's foggy outside an NP base, it's foggy inside too
even with the door closed
Same with the Seatruck
If that’s the worst thing that happens is seeing some hail inside caves I’m thankful at least the game works
Yeah I remember when i was going through some lilypad crevices close to Marguerit's base and there were 2 spikey traps there
I was looking for seatruck horsepower fragments
As for the lilypad caves I finally broke down and watched a video the other day after having trouble finding those stupid seatruck upgrades for the untold time
And I’m glad I did!😂
They’re not random
I only ever struggled to find the horsepower upgrades cause they're extremely spread out
I hate the Skybox effects on certain hangable collectibles though
it's the worst, simply the worst, and it still remains
I have 2 paintings that stay black all the time
The stuff that sticks out from walls, yeah that’s kinda jarring for some things
and unlit, when they SHOULD be lit
oh well, at least posters don't really do that anymore
I think that was a Subnautica-ported fix
But compared to gameplay, those things hopefully can be addressed at some point in the future. They have to worry about game breaking stuff and crashes atm
Because they used to stay black as well most of the time
you should know that to fix that visual glitch takes quite a few lines of code
and they're quite long too
Mercury II is my favorite, which is why I'm so glad that they fixed that collectible
It's such a cool collectible
reminds me of the Aurora poster from the first game
Well and anytime you fix something there’s a risk it’ll screw something else up
Nothing exists in isolation
Yep
I know, that's why the backup cam for the Seatruck was removed
since it just wasn't working the way they wanted it to
and was so glitchy
yeah it didn't act like a regular camera and didn't render the water
They said there are over 70 different versions of BZ, counting all platforms/console variations, languages and regions👀
Meaning they have to keep track of all that with the changes
Unpopular opinion, the camera system from the Cyclops should have been what was used for the Seatruck
Since they already had that system working perfectly
Still works like a dream
But the cyclops is a fixed system, the seatruck isn’t, how would that work? Where would the camera system be positioned?
Well, except for the Conning Tower cam, which sometimes messes with the geometry of the Conning Tower
That's a good point. I meant devise a similar system
I think side cameras would have been the best
or reverse periscopes extending out from the top and bottom of the Seatruck Cab a little ways
I guess that’s one benefit of dumping modules and just using the cabin, for tight spaces I mean
Most places you can at least maneuver with the cabin
I mostly use the Seatruck cab like the secondary pod of the Benatar(GoTG's second ship) for away missions in a faster, smaller vehicle
But speaking again of the visual issues exacerbated in BZ, player bases don't collide with a lot of scenery
they DO fortunately mostly collide with particle effects, unlike NP bases
just got below zero yesterday and its so much fun
but they don't collide with a lot of scenery(like the underwater tall red plants in the Twisty Bridges) and some particle effects(like Steam Geysers)
Glad you’re enjoying it!
...
I put a single Triops fish into a bio reactor and it's still in there
The base now has over 200 energy

300 and counting, this is weird XD
Triops fish is OP
ah, it's finally empty
340 base power after I did a few crafts
triops can be found in koppa and I'm pretty sure i've seen some in deep purple vents too
oh well i've got a nuclear reactor unlocked anyways
I don't...
cause I went to omega lab

If you want i can tell you the coordinates to it
I've got the map, I'm good
The number of Limestone Outcrops in a 450 meter radius with the center about 150, 200 meters from the Drop Pod is simply INSANE.
there's tons of floating rocks in lilypads
it's quite hard to find
you can just get the coordinates for it
oh
and you can use the f1 menu and look at camera world pos
Aight, coords plz
to see where you are
mk thx
I say the recommended path to get there is Drop pod > Delta station > Lilypads
my base is right next to the delta station island lol
cause if you try to bolt directly to lilypads from the droppod you'll most likely run into the purple vents chelicerate
