Heres the thing. My main concern is you can beat the game without finding ANYTHING out about sam. If you just focus on finding al-ans body parts like i mistakenly did, you can accidentally skip all of margerite’s story, sams story, and even the frozen leviathen and leave the planet after learning nothing about your sister.

Yeah, I noticed that too. My ending dialogue mentioned how I felt glad I learned what happened to Sam and how I can continue her work and all that. Was yours different?

Here is how to fix this glaring issue. Litteraly just add an extra dialouge option if you didnt cure the leviathan saying something like “i cant leave yet i need to find out what happened to sam.” That would litteraly fix everything

You were given a guidepost / radio tower to see to get to delta station, in delta station there was a map of the region that showed you where phi is, and phi has a map of the entire ice shelf in it that highlights the location you are describing. The information is there.

You have to enter the aurora to get the blueprint, have to make every viechal, have to cure the virus, and have to go to one of the degasi bases to get the shield generator blueprint

You only have to make the cyclops, the shield generator is in a databox in the dunes or sea treaders wreck, you can go through the entire game without making a PRAWN or a seamoth.

Although you dont HAVE to visit the floating island its almost required so you can get good blueprints to progress in the game

You don't have to make all the vehicles. All you actually need is the Cyclops for the Shield Generator. People have beat Subnautica without piloting any vehicles.

If you care enough about the story to be curious about what happened to sam's sister, you will find the clues before going through the portal, no wall needed, if you aren't curious, then there's no reason to stop you at the portal, no wall needed
