Personally, i take the prawn suit with the boost module and keep jumping and moving forward. However, each jump consumes 1% power, so i have to take 1-2 extra cells to make it back to my seatruck. Some people build bases with chargers along the way which is good too

Eggs take an annoyingly long time to hatch when you're waiting on them. Stick them in there and forget 'bout them.
You'll get a notification when they hatch, if it's something new.
