the official reason was most likely that the ships didnt have the cyclops, so you wouldnt of been able to make it, Seatruck however was made like the seamoth for modules and such, Like a mini cyclops.

Sure, but a solar battery is still 75 no matter how many there are.

So if one is depleted, the second will be drained. And that's when you notice the problem.
