They are. Grappling is great for moving around; it can fling you forwards if you get the hang of it. Drill arm is great too, and in fact the normal arm not only can pick up items but does more damage to enemies than the drill arm.

I was at around 150 meters deep with the basic Shattuck with no mods it was facing down and I got out swam deeper and then suffocated then respawned in the sea truck then I hit the disconnect modules switch and at that moment it tested me out and I landed on the ground and was able to walk around without losing oxygen or temperature

Just make sure it's selected at the bottom and then activate it right before the enemy does their attack. Maybe try practicing on a wimpy enemy to get the hang of it before confronting a Leviathan.

Yes! It's also your best bet to survive there. Be sure to bring the perimeter defense module to ward off Leviathans and minimize damage to it.

Hmm, not sure, but that's possible. Pretty sure they don't attack your vehicle when you're not "in" it, so not piloting it could count as that.

@sterile shadow it was not me but yeah. It's a vaguely oval shaped hole in the ice that frozen but you can see into it and its obviously a tunnel to go somewhere and an architect cable leads up to it so i figure there must be something in there

It's possible it's just aesthetic. They've done stuff like that before (like in SN1 there's ladders that look like normal ladders you can climb but instead are just an invisible wall, lol).
