Well that risk actualy made the game play even more enjoyable cuz it wasn't boring.
I liked the whole maintenance aspect and the damage control system.
I can't even build a batery charger in the sea truck.
Let alone lockers for extra space. And if you use more than a few modules, it's too slow to go anywhere. YOu want to be able to upgrade the vehicle so that it reduces grind in the late game, by essentially taking a mini base with you, which the cyclops did very well. This thing, the seatruck is crap in comparison and transporting stuff remains tedious for the full duration of the game. Major fail IMO. I keep wanting to play the first game.

I'd love to play an underwater game that looks like Subnautica but is an actual survival/building simulator. Subnautica is a good fantasy game, but without much realism in the survival and building aspects. You can build an entire base and submarines using a few pieces of material that you can pick up from the ground and fit in your left pocket. It defies the laws of physics. I know that realism is not really the point of the game though, so i'm not criticizing it much from that point of view, but it does feel a bit silly in some aspects.
I'd definitely play a sim by these devs, if they made one in the future.

It's the part where you just need to break a few rocks, put them in your pocket and from that you can spawn a base. That's not really 'building' per se, it's just spawning stuff with a magic wand. By simulator i'm talking about much more advanced building features like Space Engineers or something like that, where you get to build lots and lots of different components and try to make them work together. Not spawn a building with a hotkey. You get what I mean.

I've been poking around and I'm not totally clear on this, but it looks like devs have been cranking through BZ progress and we're very close to a full release. Is EA 13 another EA release that needs to come out prior to 1.0? Or is "EA 13" just a sneaky way of naming 1.0? (I'm also seeing reference to 1.1 - is that a post launch patch?)

it has some new and better things, but also shortcomings. I tend to say, the original game offered a bit more (story and landscape wise), but if you loved the original Subnautica, you will most certainly like to love BZ as well.

||I was in the crystal caves, the prawn suit standing on the sea-floor, the sea truck roughly 40 higher in the water.
Shadow leviathan attacked me so I went into the sea truck for protection. Apparantly, the Shadow leviathan attacked me inside the sea-truck, but didn't do damage but instead made me fall through the sea truck, and further down to the ground as if there would be no water.
Of course I died, when I hit the floor and re-spawned in the sea truck and the prawn suit that was standing there on the ground wasn't anymore||
