Yeah, lead is one of rarest materials, in comparison to how much you need of it. Though the cave systems below the thermal spires, the twisty bridges and in the west artic, you can find "a lot" of it.

Also there is some of it in the upper thermal spires, the crystal caves and the lilypad islands that should collect whenever bypassing.

indeed. I was a bit let down by the alien battery. according to the pda data, an alien cube contains like 1 kilo Ton of dynamit power, i seem to recall.
But when you actually use it, 1 alien battery is like 10 times 1 battery (which you obtain with copper and 2 acid mushrooms...)

The Builder Tool Fragments are in the following:
-Delta Station Entrance (1)
-Koppa Mining Site (2)
-Twisty Bridges I compartment tech site (1)
-Outpost Zero (1)

As for the actual base pieces, you need to use the Scanner Tool to obtain the blueprints. They can be scanned at the various Alterra Bases and Tech Sites.
