its better to be post-poned and get a good game than have it be rushed and a bad game
everything is trough conference calls and screen sharing... there is probably some core with offices, but afaik, some devs in UWE are from all over the world...

i would set it up that you have levels of attacks in the areas. you walk in the center it attacks you more often. you walk around the walls it attacks you less
I haven't done enough of iceworm but I've seen some videos and did notice they seemed sorta passive

well... I want to enjoy something like in the trailer as well... some wild chase
the shadows are fun with their movement patterns and stealth bit, the chelicerate are a cool obstacle and look menacing, and the iceworm has extremely limited movement and barely attacks the player.
and chase is definitely not combat

also did anyone else brutally ram the squidsharks inside the deep twisty caves with their seatruck once they got depth MK III? felt so satisfying
normally i dont murder stuff but those guys deserve it

You do need the waypoints to progress the story if ypu dontwanna spend 50 hours looking for one thing

True but subnautica 1 was more linear with usually only 1 point to progress the story
Theres like 10+ places the markers show you, all forced to go to progress the story, while in normal subnautica you didnt need to go to lifepods
Also keep in mind that almost every poi has significant visual clues

If you see a light stick going into a cave its a neon sign that there is a poi down there

The game is super easy for progression as is though. You can have a seatruck and prawn suit with full depth upgrade in 2 hours from starting

PSA: abuse the hell outta salads. 1x1 slot, doesnt spoil, litteraly better than nuetrient bar, super easy to produce (just the leaves of preston's plant and peppers, both you can get pretty easily if you know what to do)
also it gives you heat which isnt 100% needed but it is nice

the cubes are fine to have a bunch, but the other stuff really has no value after you buy whatever it is that you need it for (i think i used less than 10 kyanite total)

I think the best most chad way to play is no waypoints other than your own beacon

If you have a grappling hook and the jump booster, I don't know where/how you can get stuck with the prawn
There is almost always a few pixels you can leverage to get you out.
Acceleration while the cable is connected can also grow on itself in many cases if you wiggle enough

Yeah, I'd say at this point, see if you can drive your truck with the docking module attached and pickup the suit, if you are trying to recover it.

Once i have the cyclops i carry around enough stuff to complete the game from the first alien base to the rocket
Also you can build a modification bench, pull out the depth module, upgrade it and reslot it before you take damage
So you can go to the first alien base, start making your way down upgrade to mark 2. Go further upgrade to mark 3, ascend to the surface and build the rocket immediately
The virgin seatruck could never compete with that
I carry 12 spare fuel cells and in my moonpool is 12 fully charged ones to swap them with
If i had a moonpool vehicle upgrade station in the cyclops then my base would literally be 6 fuel cell chargers in a single pipe with solar panels to charge them and nothijg else

SN1 is complete where as SN2 is almost complete
SN1 has a more linear story where as SN2 you have to explore and find things on your own
definitely start with sn and then try bz afterwards. You get an idea of the plot with sn and bz builds off of that with a second story

For a first time play through, go normally. If you play it again it can be fun to explore it with other options and such as the beacons off

The first time i played sb1 i built scanner rooms every 500m to find everything
by all means Cast thats one of the best parts of this series you can play how you want
I recommend it
it 100% is manageable to ignore the first game, but there's so much more juiciness to it when you know the full story of the main game. I recommend your first play through be story focused before you try mods or going through other game modes. But I'm also a person who doesn't go hardcore mode in games, I play more casually.

Oh, I 100% agree and I searched for everything, but it can be annoying to miss one thing and go back so I used the map occasionally. ||Mostly when finding final cache and getting to alan.||
So i beat the first game without using the radio at all
i just got the Al-An message tongiht that i found all the caches
was prawn hopping islands from marg surface base
Also if you complete the game and then use the radio the rescue ship is still || shotdown||

I have 2.5 days on sn and 83.9 hours on bz. Right now I'm on my second or third playthrough of the main game. When bz is fully released I plan on going and playing all of it again

I got sn when it was the free game on epic 2-3 years ago. I got bz right when it was released but my machine wasn't good enough to run it well and it was so glitchy

the only memory leak that Subnautica has is when quiting to the main menu and then loading another save (or the same one you were using)

KSP loads its universe a LOT....thats where its main memory leak comes from
Subnautica loads its universe once unless you quit to the main menu and load the save again
