I really like Below Zero. It has beautiful biomes, gorgeous weather effects, and the gameplay is like Subnautica. The story is a little lackluster, but I’ve gotten over that. I think it’s solid.

I think I should make it more clear, when I said the gameplay was “more Subnautica”, I meant that as a ^good^ thing. I like the gameplay mechanics.

The temperature bar was a good addition. And the new game customization options.

I think BZ suffers from a couple things. First, the story needed to be tightened up. It is, supposedly, far different than its early access version, and just flat out needs more work.

But I also think it is too big, and not big enough. Too much content for a DLC, not quite enough for a full-blown sequel. (Which is what everyone thought it was.) So it falls into an awkward middle between the two.

But, those things aside, there’s still a lot to like about it. It’s grown on me considerably over the years.

Ok so after finishing BZ for the first time, I don't really get what the point of finding Sam's Kharaa cure was? The virus has already been cured on the planet, Riley presumably brought the antidote back to earth, and you can finish the story without even finding the antidote. There also wasn't any payback or big revelation around Sam's story that I'm aware of. Did I miss something?

no, it really isn't. covid is a virus that is guarded against by an mrna vaccine. kharra is a bacterial infection cured by enzyme 42 (not much is known about the mechanism, but it's possible it directly attacks the bacteria)

generally, it's far easier to eradicate bacterial diseases

True, however it acts as a cure because it would then allow for the infected individuals' immune system to fight off the Kharaa iirc

Mainly judging by how, ||with the self-scan dialogue in the original game, it mentions the immune system working on trying to fight off the infection, so with the disease dormant, the immune system would then be able to kill the Dormant bacteria, thus curing the individual||

So my guess is that ||Sam's cure not only has Enzyme 42, but also something that either reactivates the Frozen Leviathan's immune system, has extremophile bacteria in it that can eat the Kharaa, or warms it up enough to where the bacteria already inside of it can kill and eat the Kharaa bacteria||

Question about Alien Containment in Large Rooms:
I have 3 rooms stacked vertically. In them, I have 5 fish tanks in the shape of an X (2 - 1 - 2).
How does fish distribution work? Do they all function as one tank? Or does fish live only in the tank they were released in? Also, what's the fish cap?

And the fish should be able to swim up and through the top one (it’s overlapping the 2 underneath, yes?) and down the other side.

I admit, I was disappointed that the creepvines I planted in that end of the tank didn’t grow up through into the top one. (I had two below and one overlapping above.)

One tip, the place with the bridge looking things has a deep zone, it's really safe in there and has lots of diamonds, lithium, and multiple outcroppings

Otherwise you’re kind of unable to avoid the leviathan there

Okay so there are technically 2 leviathans on the front, ||the worm thing on the top, that is only found on land and not in water||, and the ||squid shark which is only technically a leviathan, its not that big at all, and those are definitely not a big threat, youll find them in much less deep places||
