I love BZ, the biomes are sooo much more elaborate and rich and colorful. The animals are much more believable. Also I love that the game is not pushing you to do anything in a hurry. You can explore at your own pace and do whatever you like to do first. I could spend hours and hours just watching the wildlife in the game.

Yes, you have to be very careful releasing fishs into the wild. Especially the crashfish shows a very weird but very funny behaviour. Try it.

Yes you can but to get the teleportation module you need to scan 10 alien artifacts. I dont know if that is worth the time for your speedrun or just make the trip to ||fabricator cavern|| once and go back the usual way. But go ahead.

I really love BZ's environmental design. I feel like its 3-dimensionality makes up for the smaller map. The first game's map feels really flat in comparison. The biomes themselves are also beautiful and I like the vibrancy of everything and it still manages to be terrifying at times.

Update: I managed to get the Propulsion Cannon without having the Seatruck. To my surprise, there’s no way to interact between the Seatruck and the Propulsion Cannon other than destroying it by throwing things at it, and in the end, that’s what I did.

? Not really when most games nowadays have auto saves. It's the standard now and it's fair to criticize it for tht. Autosave wld literally just make the game better and most games understand this. While yes it is a nitpick it's a problem i have with both games. It's definitely fair to criticize it when the game crashes because it's unstable. If u have mods sure, then u shld expect crashes and save more frequently but if he was js playing vanilla and the game crashed on his own and he lost hours of progress bcs of it? Thts on the game. How wld it be his fault the game doesn't have the standard saving system 90% of other games and the game crashes on its own to make him lose progress. And while you might be okay with, frankly I'm not a fan of having to pause every 15 mins to save to make sure I don't lose progress. It breaks immersion

Don't expect the story to be the same, the game diverts you away from the main point of going there try to solve the story of Sam, also it doesn't hold your hand like the first one it requires more exploration mostly on your own especially late game.

Well a big difference is sometimes when you scan things you get more blueprints in this one than you did the first. Some things are hard to craft and some things are easier. As for the map exploring I found it a bit more confusing especially in later biomes. Also to make up for the map size I've been told that's why Robin swims more slowly. That can be difficult, I found myself having to take an extra oxygen tank if I went deeper just in case.

Yes, if you want more subnautica it is totally worth buying. The story and ending left me in shock it was AMAZING, way better than subnautica's ending

subnautica is 100x better for modding though, and below zero has fewer open environments that make it so horrifying. The story can be a bit confusing, and the side story is horrible (the one with Sam) but the main story is amazing

any hater videos of subnautica below zero don't have very good reasons to hate on subnautica below zero, honestly any bad reviews are because the game does not live up to be a full sequel to subnautica, but if it were the first game to release (before subnautica) it would be praised just like subnautica

Not so sure about this, a person can not like a game and have their own reasons for disliking it even if someone doesn't agree with them. The story fell flat to many, and some people were put off by the writer being switched halfway through the storyline. It's worth the 8.00 I spent whereas the first one is for sure worth the 29.99. The ending in the first one was way better and made more sense than this one. I liked the ending with this one but it wasn't the greatest ending imo.

i couldn't say which one is my favorite, because they are so different and you don't look for the same things in both games as in experience

but i really like the presence of actual land in bz, something far superior over the first game, i wish to see as much in the next game

an actual survival experience on land is something sub1 obviously missed and it doesn't take away the underwater experience, while adding a new sort of challenge (the snowfox is dog poo tho)

Solving Sam's story was annoying, it's no wonder people typically don't and just ||leave with the alien||

No it doesn't do the same thing, I thought the mesmer had more of a hypnotizing effect then it's gone when you are attacked. The lilypaddler however is more hallucinogenic so it's effect last a while and even seems to intoxicate Robin.

Answered my own question. Apparently you can’t feed Shadow Leviathans (or more technically accurate, you can feed the Shadow Leviathans, but you’re feeding yourself to it, not the prey fish!), but Chelicerates will eat fishes straight out of your hand. Interesting.
