If you still can't find it and have a good amount of o2 then you can also swim down under one of the vent gardens. Its a more direct way but slower.

Very subjective. I personally found BZ a lot more enjoyable, biomes and creatures are prettier than in SN.
My favorite activities to do in Subnautica are base building, enjoying the scenery/creatures and listening to the OST. These things is where BZ shines over SN.
