It's not SN2. There is no cyclops, best to tell you now. Also you talk, and you are not alone all the time. That said, it's a great game too.

Save often, carry a beacon. Don't hate on the sea monkeys, they switch to helping early game.

propulsion cannon needs line of sight and is useless for 90% stuck items. gravball can grab them all even through walls.
Caveat - everything the gravball touches has its 'gravity' enabled, so you have to pick it up or it will sink through the floor when you leave the area/reaload game.
