Though Below Zero does not have an especially great selection of plants for growbeds, the one-slot plants are more diverse, varied, and numerous. It makes gardens feel more varied and full compared to ones with four-slot plants alone, though there are fewer total varieties.

Well that was fun! Before I started BZ I had heard so much negativity around it, reviewers everywhere saying they hated it for one reason or another. Honestly, I don’t get it. This felt just as fun as the first game, and was definitely a super cool experience. I’d say it’s at least 8/10, with the only real downsides imo being the extraordinarily agitating technical issues that keep me from having a perfect time. The Switch is basically just a toaster with a screen attached as far as technical capability goes, so that’s fair, but it’s still super annoying.

Other than that, absolutely LOVED BZ.

They’re all super cool! Storage gives 5 lockers in each car. the Aquarium works like a grav trap and petting zoo combined. the fabricator car is self explanatory in what it has. the sleeper car has a bed to skip the night, a picture frame to hang screenshots, and a jukebox that plays real songs made by various YouTube artists in tribute to the game! You have to find the disks for each of the songs, but having a radio that plays actual fan music as you explore the ocean is insanely cool! And lastly, the docking module is so you can take your prawn suit everywhere

Lithium is needed for a decent number of recipes, and can be annoying to find without a scanner room. Gold is super vital because WoD the sheer number of things that need chips

Very. I heard a ton of negative things about it before playing, but after I completed it I looked back and realized that 99% of the “bad” things parroted by reviewers about it were either literally false or were things that existed in the first game but were ignored because of nostalgia.

As someone who played them both for the first time back to back, I would say that they are pretty equal in how fun they are

Below Zero goes in a different direction, abandoning some aspects (horror parts, sparse biomes) and improving others (beauty, base building, creature design). I really do prefer this direction over the previous game, it took what I loved about the first title and gave it a different spin. SN is still great, but BZ is much closer to my heart. I hope the new title will continue to innovate, instead of trying to be SN again (even if it's what many people want, an actual SN2)

The animation is so complex, it definitely feels special when compared to the dozens of eels in SN

It’s basically just a flatworm but made the size of a cyclops. They’re actually the least threatening leviathan to me by a long shot in my experience. They barely hurt, they can’t escape a counter attack, and they are the easiest Leviathans to dodge. Ignoring the stasis rifle, I feel like the first game Leviathan were way more of a threat, but I do tend to like BZ designs better.

It’s totally fine, they don’t stand out a lot. The two places to find a lot of them are || inside the vent garden leviathan (idk its location. Imagine a jellyfish that’s bigger than a reefback and you can go inside of it) and a few of them at the entrance to the crystal caverns||

Very funny... Espresso in SN gives you 4 water, but coffee in BZ gives you thirst. Also, in SN, the cup disappears, while in BZ, the thermos stays. This is proof that the liquids provided by the coffee dispenser does not hydrate you, but the mug itself does. Ryley eats the mug (crunching sounds) and consumes the liquids in it, while Robin does not.

So i have standard o2 tank and seatruck
seatruck has 150m depth limit
and to upgrade it i need diamonds
diamonds are found at great depth
i feel like pearl gatherer when there's just enough o2 to swim doing from seatruck with glider, be lucky to find 1 diamond with scanner, launch yourself up with orange thingy, breath in what is left inside of it and dash back into seatruck with glider.
this is extremely tight loop. what is wrong?

No autosave in the game. Other than whenever you enter habitat, drop pod or sea truck that becomes your spawn point and your inventory is saved

You lose items you have collected since last being in drop pod, habitat or seatruck

And if you have a beacon, it drops along with the items to mark the spot and you can find them easier

I should have rephrased thar question, what I meant was if you deconstruct it down to say 95%, where you are not fully deconstructing it but just so it becomes inactive since you can't individually disable items in a room (or at least to my knowledge you can't lol).

Yeah I know the control room can power a room off but my generators are in my main large room so I can't just disable the entire room, like I have a water filtration machine and it can be disabled by just deconstructing it to 95% so I was just wondering if the generators would stop the use of fuel when in that state, it would just be best if I could actually disable the generators on their own but that's not possible so idk.

And I don't wanna have to build an entire new room and move all my generators into that room just to be able to turn the room off 😆

Bio is terrible for a main base. I can’t say that often enough. Thermal is best, add in a bit of solar if possible.

No autosave in the game. If you loose power and did not save past couple hours, that progress is lost. there is an autosave mod that I really recommend.
