Map. I marked the ice fruits in blue. Go northeast of them
Northeast from base?
yes they grow down from ice. Elephant foot looking big fruit. Eat them
this ice fruits?
they give very nice food
go under ice, then up to air
wdym?
see map. If your location is the blue mark, go northeast and up to air
I ended up here š¤·āāļø
This one?
It's not as laggy as you'd think.
ouch. Yes that's what I got on intel integrated graphics from 2018
lmao, so relatable
now I break the 300 limit
I'm using a mid-spec laptop
possibly with no GPU
I don't think I have the guts to do it guys.
scan first, then it does not matter what you do
I scanned lol
Don't do it! I regret destroying it.
lol
Don't worry, I left the snowman intact.
Hold up
yk the bases right?
Do they share electricity or do they partition it?
like, with the thermal thingy
I made 2 thermal generators and the electricity is only going to one base, not the main base.
Each base has its own power consumption
Hi, joined in search for a solution to my controller problem. I bought Subzero on my mac on steam, but it seems as ifmy controller inputs don't really function as they should. It's not as if it doesn't react, but they only buttons that do something are "a" and "b" and even those only sometimes. I activated controller support ingame, used controller templates and tried everything I could find. Is this a known problem, as I didn't find any discussions online about a similar case? Thanks anyways in advance.
You need to make a thermal plant and connect it to the main base. A different base will function independently
I did, and then I put power extenders to a different base and the electricity from the 2 thermals both routed to that different base instead of the main base.
Each transmitter has 100m range, but it'll connect to the closest transmitter/base. Make sure to make them as far away from this other base as possible
make what far away from the other base?
Transmitters/thermal plants
Each power plant will only ever power up one base. If you build two thermal plants close to each other, it will be very difficult to route them to different bases, as they will likely connect to same power transmitter (not sure if you wanted to connect them to different bases or both to same)
What does it mean by "hollow chamber in iceberg detected"?
Just what it says: somewhere nearby there's an iceberg with a cave inside it
Don't you just love kidnapping penglins?
i do i held a family of 60
yes and the seatruck
Wdym and the seatruck?
š
U mean the aquarium module in the seatruck?
yes
Oh lmao

I'm gonna do that
Not impossible, I accidentally built thermal plants at two different locations and didnāt realize that they were actually very close to each other, I swam to them from different directions from two different bases. Took a while to realize why my power wasnāt working right, it would glitch when I opened my save file and Iād have to remove and put back one of the transmitters each time.
I finally figured it out when I saw one power transmitters sending the blue line an entirely wrong direction and swam to see where it was going, and found my other thermal plantsā¦
I ended up having to put several additional power transmitters on each leg and lead power away from the thermal plants a bit more so that the power connection wouldnāt jump unexpectedly.
Can you breed penglins in the alien containment unit?
ye
How?
Just put two in there and they make more.
I thought you had to feed them something first.
Nope.
call me inseane some times i'll put a full grown penwing and a penglin in a boireacter
Lmaoooo
Insane, no. But youāre a monsterā¦. š
You can't carry a full grown penwing?
i even did it with a cuddle fish egg
Itās no wonder aliens always look down on humans.
Lmao
If you breed them you can pick up the full grow ones.
Oh
is below zero a good game like should i buy the bundle with normal subnautica or just normal subnautica
Wait, technically you can have infinite biopower by breeding penwings and then putting them in the bioreactor.
ive never played either fyi
Buy the bundle, you'll save more money and they're both amazing games.
That's what I did and it's actually worth it.
for my boireacter fuel i use seamonkey eggs
Lol
It's kinda like normal subnautica but it's just better in lore and in story.
okok thanks
it's different and same
anyone want to take a gusse what boireacter fuel i use in normal subnautica
Where tf do I find kyanite bruh?
i forgor
only crystal caves
Where is crystal caves?
have you been to the pilots home?
It's a similar concept, but the feel is different. Below Zero is less stressful and more peaceful, though it's not always easy or safe.
You can do the same with arctic peepers, or any fish: just have 2 same species in containment. Or plants in growbeds are also renewable biofuel
yo
Greetings
Where to find alien containment blueprint?
in the largest wreck, that is in the south-west end of lilypads, at 200m
South West from where?
How was meatie's statement not clear...
it is south of purple vents
Say you're in a field. And someone tells you that there's a house at the south west end of the field. Is that confusing for you?
where are magnetits?
Idk where purple vents is.
Nah, it was confusing the way meatie worded it.
Not for me
in deep lilypads, in most pengling caves, in some ice bergs. A few inside the phi robotics cave, behind the base
Have you found ||delta island yet||
this biome map is a little spoilery, but mostly just the wreck locations
@mellow geode yes
see Mercury II Bow? There
From your drop pod, head south until you reach the island. Then turn left and start circling around the island
The snowy vibe is kinda more interesting than the base game
Oh
Personal preferences I guess
your pod is in north twisty bridges, just off the top of this map
it is cruel tho. Learn what keeps you warm
Too bad we can't start fires
Imagine freezing to death, like bro just stack up on thermos.
thermos is such a bad way I hardly suggest it. Open water. Caves. Steam vents. Any vehicle. Pepper fruit
Is there a bigger map?
yeeees
Yes but why do you want to spoil yourself
it does spoil quite a bit. It reveals stuff you are meant to find yourself
That's fine, it takes long finding stuff.
But fine, it's your game. This interactive map. Probably start by clicking HIDE ALL
https://mapgenie.io/subnautica-below-zero/maps/world
Personally I don't understand why you would wanna play a game like this, then basically cheat your way to completion
How do u do spoiler stuff
mark some text, click the eye (on pc)
On mobile?
Put || before and after the text you want to hide
Ok
U mean life pod?
yes
So I || did the frozen leviathan thing what do I do next ||
it's in the north of twisty bridges
Life pod is SN, in BZ it's drop pod
Iāve got a house with a sea truck and a prawn
well yes, if you wanna be picky
Hope fish are invincible bruh.
cure the frozen guy, then go back to building a body
Have you ||found the prawn pilot yet||
Do you need to cure the leviathan?
what meatie said then
Oh the body thing
sadly you don't need to
Forgot about that
Oh so it's just an optional thing
I thought it was required lol so I did it
good!
Does it give badge?
achievement I think
hmmm many
List some
no
how about we just play the game for you instead
spy pengling, snowfox, fridge, powercell charger I think, more, a map
another trophy there
There was a thing I needed for blueprint and I forgot what other blueprints were found on phi
Where do you find the spicy plant btw??
...
Greenhouse?
I stop now
#below-zero-chat now #unlimited-spoilers
When does she give you the favour?
she asks when you meet her in her home
I forgot the favour š
go read your pda then
I do remember her asking to do smth about alterra spying on her or smth
yes, disable the sat antenna
How am I supposed to do that šæ?
by playing the game?
Nah like, how do I disable the satellite antenna?
i give up.
Do I need a special component?
honestly at this point you might as well just google everything
Kinda harsh
you're basically asking to be spoonfed how to progress the main storyline
I agree. That's not what we like to help with
I just wanted to know if I needed a special component to disable the sat antenna.
thats a Yes
Oh
I beat the game!
Nice
the whole point of the game is for you to explore, discover stuff, explore further, discover more stuff, take your time to look through what you've discovered and figure out what you need to do next.
if you're going to ask what and how to do stuff every step of the way, then you might as well just go watch a youtuber letsplay video
You have a fair point.
yeah, taking your time and building bases is the way to go
But it's not like I'm asking about everything. I'm just asking some hard parts.
and be sure to keep a few beacons for when you find something interesting
I love building bases but I hate when I have to put reinforcements to keep the base stability.
use bulkheads and foundations, then
That's what I do.
but they don't give you nearly as much hull integrity
put it this way. if you're stuck on something, it's highly likely that you haven't explored enough to discover what you need in order to complete it. don't get hung up on what you can't complete yet, but go do what you can. and if there's nothing you can do, it's prolly time to go exploring.
And I also use reinforced walls.
how deep are you building?
50 metres
depth doesn't affect building strength
is your whole base made of glass?
Not that low, but I also have another base that's like 600m.
at 50m you shouldn't have trouble with hull integrity unless you are using lots of windows and glass compartments
again, depth has no effect on base strength
is that different from original Subnautica?
no.
I believe that it does below 100 meters.
it doesn't
I think it does, but I didn't test this
building at 1m and 1000m below sea level works exactly the same in my experience
I know for sure, that on land you don't need to worry about integrity at all
no depth penalty between 0 and 100m
Every meter after 100 will add 0.001 to the depth multiplier.
Because I have a base at 600m and I built some I tubes and they take away a big chunk of 1.2.
huh, learn something new everyday
i stand corrected
but also, the depth multiplier is not really very big based on the table
yeah, so compartments with big negative hull integrity, like moon pools and observatories, really hurt at the lowest depths
that makes sense
but the BZ map is smol enough that you don't really need multiple bases, like SN
for things like multipurpose rooms, you won't notice as much
even for SN multiple bases is very much optional
for me, a single base at the boundary of twisty bridges and delta island is more than enough
there is a 50% penalty at 600m - I'd say that's pretty significant
How long until a nuclear reactor rod depletes?
but still, even in subnautica, I've built a scanner base with just a hatch at 1300m and it works
depends on how much power you are drawing
build 1 nuke and 1 rod, and I'm sure you can beat the game
unless you are constantly drawing power from, say, a bunch of flood lights
Kim Jong-Un tactics.
Flood lights don't use power from base, do they?
they do, but light sticks do not
How much power do they use then?
also, my favorite exterior base lighting trick is to use camera drones. Both light sticks and camera drone lights can be on forever
thermal power > nuclear power imo
Nah, nuclear power lasts more.
I'm not sure. It's not a lot, it's just that it is constant. Usually your base requires and consumes no power until you recharge batteries, use a fabricator, dock at the moon pool to recharge, etc
Doesn't matter if its constant if the base is producing more than it's losing.
thermal is infinite. I think the best use of nuclear is if you need high energy per second. Like if you want to run multiple water filtration systems (because you are a sadist). Each one draws power faster than a single thermal plant can produce. Nukes are SO fast with energy/second.
you will never have black-outs with a nuke unless you are intentionally trying to use lots of power
How is running multiple filtration systems being a sadist š? I literally do that.
and you check it every once in awhile
I've never needed that much water before.
I keep a pot of marble melons in my base and top off every time I am there
It's better if you have more because then you can collect more water and salt.
I prefer fevered peppers for water. They regrow even if you forget to plant them again.
Whereas you'd have to wait quite a while to get that on a single filtration system.
I guess as long as you have multiple pots
I like the shrub nuts too
Deep blue by miracle of sound is the best song in subnautica sub zero.
If you have multiple water filtration units and multiple thermal plants, youāre usually fine and wonāt run out of power. I grab water from mine before I leave on a trip and if power does drop while Iām gone I wonāt notice.
not true. if you can get your thermal plants to 100c, 3 of them will make energy faster than a single nuclear reactor, and never have to swap out/dispose of reactor rods
But the great thing with thermal is that they keep recharging, so when one gets fully drained, it will draw from the next in line, but the first starts charging, and power swaps between those two for a while and hovers there.
If you need food quickly, antennae fruit are good; they give 20 food and 9 points of health, as well as some water.
i don't remember if they fixed it or not but there are certain spots where you can get up to ||255c|| per thermal plant
Itās still there.
thermal wins then
how many leaves can i get off 1 preston plant?
9 times before the plant disappears say wiki.
It might be 9, but it's definitely somewhere in this range.
so ten if you're gonna kill it.
okay
and then you can replant
thats a lot of salad
Indeed
^
what are you guys' favorite music disc?
does this count š
im more talking on the jukebox
i know i was being cheeky
:)
Deep blue is very good song
I love Mirage Machine
But in terms fo the discs? Probably Survive, Deep Blue, or Rite of the Deep
They're all super good.
You need to plant the fruit, you canāt plant a leaf as far as I know.
I know, I was saying that you need to hit it 10 times before it goes away.
But you need to get a fruit before it goes away or itās another trip to the greenhouseā¦
More than 2 fruits usually?
Anyone know what this is?
chelicerate leviathan
How dangerous is it?
yes.
Gives me reaper vibes ngl
a friend
a shrimpy friend
If heās a friend I should definitely go closer then
probably edible
yes.
It's a deadly leviathan with razor-sharp mandibles. The chelicerate does quite a bit of damage, and has parallels with the reaper leviathans of the Crater.
changed?
Yeah itās a lot different from the first map
you mean sn?
It's a completely different part of the planet.
Ohh
sn is like the bahamas, bz is like alaska
Yeah
The Crater is tropical, and Sector Zero is the planet's Antarctic.
Ohh
That explains a lot lol
Also do I need a vehicle bay to make a sea truck like sn?
yes
we don't actually know if sector zero is near any poles, and there isn't really any reason to define it as antarctic
The wiki claims otherwise, though I wouldn't be surprised if that was unconfirmed and/or inaccurate.
which page?
It's in the Trivia section of the page "Subnautica: Below Zero".
Many people who worked on the wiki are in this server
well, whoever wrote that didn't know the meaning of the word antarctic
Anyone know where I can find vehicle bay fragments?
antarctic means south pole.
On the floor, all over the twisty bridges and kelp forests
not entirely correct.
what's the incorrect part? that on earth there's a continent?
Thanks
hmm, how to tell where's north and south on an alien planet?
Compassā¦
it points at the closest pole, what pole is it? (i'm asking about the subjective notion of south and north)
The magnetic pole on a planet doesnāt necessarily mean it will be in an arctic climate. And as for N vs S, itās what the compass indicates by which end of the magnet gets attracted.
As calibrated by Earth referenceā¦
hey is somewhere in this biom source for energy? like i wanna build base there
antarctic means "of antarctica" or "of the south pole", but this is because the word's roots come from latin and greek where arctic refers to the north. sector zero is just cold af, but there's no real proof that it is anywhere near the planet's either poles.
bioreactor and nuclear reactors are the source there
Thermal is a good distance away, not impossible though. Bio would be best bet, as much as I hate to admit thatā¦
ohh okay thanks!
however, people can and do use the word arctic to describe conditions of extreme cold, without needing to also mean that it's of the north.
to say that sector zero is antarctic would only mean that it is of the south pole, but doesn't necessarily mean that the climate should be like the earth's antarctic
(why are 2 ppl focus on temperature all the sudden?)
temperature on the poles depends on how the planet's axis is angled and 4546B is simmilar to earth in that regard - otherwise there would be no tropics and no ice cap.
sector zero is super close to the pole
we're debating whether sector zero is near the north or south pole
It's in the Arctic
i asked that yeah but arctic and antarctic stuff are equally cold
based on what proof?
Arctic Peeper

It's all the info we got
so the wiki saying that bz takes place in the antarctic is wrong then
Wiki is often inaccurate
Again, arctic refers to climate, not a magnetic pole.
subjective north it is then (since
)
Also, I have a question
this is why i was going into the definition of antarctic and arctic
bruh, not always
Sun rises on the North, right? What does that mean for the poles?
Those are Earth references. A planet could well have more than two arctic areas. Or less than 2.
Nothing.
if arctic = cold temperature, antarctic = hot
that's not how the language works
Antarctic is like arctic but ant, I suppose ant means south
arctic can be used to refer to
- of the north pole
- being cold af
- both 1 and 2
but it doesn't mean that antarctic can mean being hot af. antarctic can only mean of the south pole.
Really? I thought it would mean that the poles are in E and W
that's the thing that bothered me in sn1! i was assuming sun rises in the east - but the compass told otherwise
Planets may not have any magnetic poles, or more than two, from what Iāve read.
Compass directions are basically arbitrary at that point, as I said earlier. A planet with two poles has compass directions according to what an Earth compass says.
If a planet had no poles, a compass would do nothing, and directions would be arbitrary. A planet with more than two poles would likely need some new form of compass to get directions from. GPS, etc.
A bit off topic, but how does a planet have more than 2 poles?
The sun rises in the same direction in both games, wouldn't that mean that a regular compass works?
2 poles
Or whatever they're called
A planet could be knocked off its axis, or any number of other things that would have the poles not match sunrise.
Honestly the only true examples I know of are from science fiction, as far as I know astronomers havenāt been able to determine poles for planets beyond our solar system yet.
Sunrise depends on axis of rotation. Magnetic poles may or may not?
Correct
that means 4546B's magnetic poles are like ~80 degrees (idk) to its rotation axis??? so like arctic and antarctic poles, and the north and south magnetic poles
brain hurt hurt
I don't think 4546B has 2 arctic areas
Consider though that the architects have been all over this world with their alien cables and technology. Any poles present could be entirely artificial in nature.
but if the planet is tilted there should be 2 ice caps. why does earth have 2 and 4546B has 1
Considering the number of thermal vents in both games, Iām surprised it has an arctic region at all?
as far as i know the earth's cores rotate independently of the crust. so for us it's kinda a coincidence that the magnetic poles are near the axis of the planet's rotation in general. we have no such information on 4546b.
Exactly
Because Earth is built differently
4546B has more water
if the tilt is such that the rotational axis is directly pointed towards the sun, one side would be blazing hot all the time and the other side freezing cold
but earth's tilt, dude
That also means one side is always day, and the other always night
was it said that 4546b has a similar tilt to earth, and if so where?
for 6 months at least)
4546B is smaller than Earth, has more water and significantly more volcanic activity. I think it's kinda hot for arctic areas
Considering the length of the days, Iām surprised the temperature isnāt more uniform across the planet.
where????????
what? i don't understand. the earth is tilted, that's the reason why it's dark at 6 pm where i am rn
and maintaining those ice caps also depends on that too
day/night cycles are not dependent on the tilt.
unless in the extreme case that i made earlier
how exactly am i going to keep a glow whale in containment-
let's go to #off-topic
We're kinda discussing 4546B, though
it fitsš trust meh bro
It only takes as much space as 4 shrub nuts, too.
Either 4546B is really tiny, or it spins really fast. Let it rip!!
Or both?
day/night cycles exist because the planet rotates. even if the axis of rotation is pointed at the sun, unless the planet has a secondary axis of rotation that is centered around the sun, the planet will still experience day night cycles.
Multiple moons, that has to mess with a planet a bit too.
the reason why earth has seasons and inconsistant light day duration is because of the tilt. polar days and polar nights are also that thing
yes, but having a day/night cycle of approximately 24 hours is a result of the planet's rotation, not of it's tilt.
i never said that. whyyyyyyyyyyy
the tilt gives us the seasons
if we had no tilt we would still have roughly a 24 hour day/night cycle
gotta check the lore
Whatever that means
i feel like i'm being trolled
no, you're just confused
I am not trolling, I'm just tired
Breeding season doesnāt necessarily line up with a climate season. Could be moon orientation or any other thing.
True
Could be every other Thursdayā¦. š
all we know about 4546b is that 1 sol = 20 earth minutes. we have no information on the planet's tilt or it's axis of rotation(s)
no, you are good guy š¤
it's the evil bad nasty other person /s

good girl, not boy
Is /s serious, sarcastic or sentimental?
Subnauticaā¦
Omg that's so true..
lol i thought it meant serious when i first saw it. it means sarcasm.
(i strongly dislike tone indicators actually)
they're a necessary evil
And here Iāve been using a period instead of a /s on my posts all these yearsā¦
can't really express tone over text
Just buy nitro
Anyways, are PDA Personal Logs bugged for everyone else too?
dayum that's not a set up for misunderstanding at all.
no
I can't seem to get most entries, such as "Drop pod", "Finally, some speed", etc
I've been playing more Subnautica lately, but I'll make sure to check.
is speed for a seaglide?
It really stinks, I got the voice messages but not the PDA entries
fins
cos i don't remember robin commenting anything about speed ever... i guess i have 1 pda bug
Not sure, Iām past all that in my current save.
yo tf, i just put my snowfox in my hotbar and it showed the penguin remote? when i clicked it put it down and the bike clipped through the ground-
For something thatās supposed to float Iāve never understood how it could be so buggy like that.
where's the ||organs for al-an, i need spare kidneys||
hahaha a cryptosuchus just died by... ramming himself into my seatruck while trying to bite it...
Actually it doesn't float, it hovers, but only over ground...
Down in ||crystal cavern||
ty
Fish game but cold
Is the place with the || ventgardens || a good place for a base? Or on land?
There are some big ol hostiles around those, you might want a spot that's a bit less dramatic
Im aware of the shrimps. I think that biome looks reallyyyy cooool
If you really like it, you might try the tunnel between the Dummy's base and her thermal plant farm
No hostiles there, and lots of minerals
Ah, good morning, Mighty Wizard š
I would go for Tree spires, if you don't like your neighbors, you can just build around the other ventgarden that has none.
The land isn't particularly attractive, especially considering the water is nowhere close.
I will look around. I havent played in months so i forgot some stuff
Unless you're talking about an iceberg or the island.
Yeah 'The island' ik what that is anymore : (
The vent gardens look cool. I might build near a juvinile or something
My favorite spot for a base is on the flat spot just south of the drop pod - fairly peaceful, central location
Do they try to stick near the path or do the perfectly follow it?
They try.
But they succeed pretty well. I remember in EA they were flying after a while, moving up in the air.
HOLD ON
They go to the purple vents a small bit?
Ventgardens are cool
Meh. A bit too cramped in the caves
There's not a huge opening or anything, but at least we're not trying to steer a Cyclops around in there
The Seatruck fits in nicely, even with a couple modules added on
Seatruck is LITTERLY a home
I should do a run where i just live 100% in my seatruck
Thats smart
The aquarium module for food, fabricator module to do food stuff, a sleeper module for... sleeping
1 storage module is not enough tho
If there was a tech we could install that could recharge the power cells, yes, this could be a thing
I have brought along the Prawn suit with the ||thermal charger|| installed, and used it for that purpose, but it's kinda inconvenient
It involves getting out and swapping around the power cells - if you're in an area with hostiles nearby, it can be challenging
In the Prawn suit, yes, but if you wanna charge the Seatruck, some swapping is required
Maybe i could make small outposts in every biome with powercell chargers?
Maybe not Every biome, but in a few key places, that will be handy for a stopover
Or take a lot of spare powercells incase of emergenxy
š
The Seatruck is my personal favorite tho, I'd love for there to be some kinda [installable] charger for it
What are you thinking off. Maybe an 'Charger Module'. Just an empty module but you plant a thermal charger in it?
Thats what comes first to my mind
I was thinking of an installable upgrade, but imagine this - a buildable module, that has solar panels on top, and a standard battery charger inside - maybe a small locker too - maybe similar to the fabricator module, but for charging
I submitted that one actually, the Devs are probably done with BZ tho - Maybe in a future title, I hope?
I hope
hmm, should I continue playing my save from right before I beat the game, or should I start fresh? First world problems.
It was my first play through. I like the exploration and progression parts of the game, and I like building up a base, but prefer to do so while doing the latter.
And now that I've played through, I kinda have a concept of where things are
You could go further. Maybe hatch every egg. Or do some fun stuff
Bring some medkits and if you want craft a || snowfox ||
Spiral plant can be found in tree spires biome inside the ||two adult vent garden leviathans|| or in puple vents crevices.
thanks
This was the least obvious location for collecting a resource in the entire game. They really needed to do a better job of leading you to it.
Just ignore it
I almost feel like the game needs side quests or something like that
Yes its a tricky one especially because you need it early game.
Yes, let it do it, repair, move on, repeat. The less you care the faster you go.
It is just very convenient when moving around on foot
snowfox restores heat, which is unrealistic, but whatever
Having cold suit might help, but you can also keep warm by using vehicle, eating stuff that heats or use caves/heat vents
Edit. Also holding a flare grants little cold resistance, maybe 5%
Heated seat, like your car
BUTT WARMERS!!! Brilliant!
Snow stalker?
Ok but the jellies damage your vehicle
Not if you leave your seatruck behind at the dock.
But yes, no big deal
The still can cause damage but not much
No
I made a vertical tube access all the way down to my base in deep twisty.
Squid shark and spiky traps
Yes me too! Kind of a personal goal
Yes at lilypads you have thounderstorms
And you can build on top of the lilypads
No occasionally
Yes no it has everything
Yes, most of it
And lilypaddlers
Lilypaddlers, the only drug in BZ
They make you dizzy
You will find out
No big deal, you get enough food and water
Once you have seatruck and fabricator its literally infinite.
Deep twisty bridges
No
um. I don't agree. Wormy really doesn't like the snow fox noise
no, damage is not massive
not really. Medkits are more of an issue
Why does my scanner room not work? Like I can't click on the things to scan
control room shows time of day, hull integrity. You get a base 3d map to turn off room power, or see breaches. It is a beacon also
stop making so much noise then
i'm new and made good progress but haven't found a single fragment of the sea truck, is that normal?
do not look down when dropping the snowfox
Why
it can drop below the map then
Good to know!š
run away and come back in a prawn
did you buy the bundle for maximum savings
that's a steam only thing, probably
I hope you enjoy it!
Have you activated it? You can find out. (Also, it goes to ||the matching one near Phi Robotics||).
They added some sound effects to it that make it even more fun to go through than the ones in the Crater.
Yes, you need to place an ||ion cube|| in the... terminal?
If you've got a laser cutter, you can get there again after the first time without encountering the ||ice worm||.
you're right, just wanna help people save money
no
Oh, no. It's just a useful and interesting thing to find, but it isn't part of the story.
it is just a shortcut to ||phi robotics||
I prefer to use it as a shortcut to the ||Arctic Spires||.
yes. it's a shortcut back. So is the water tunnel by the elevator you can find

The only two "sharks" in Below Zero are the brute shark and squidshark.
if there is bone sharks then it's a very early version
where do i find lithium
on top of lilypads, or in thermal spires (delta biome)
ok
Bonesharks were a placeholder for the cryptosuchus if I remember correctly.
right
no stasis rifle? How do we scan the more dangerous beasts?
One good trick is to get them to chase you into a small crevice - they can't reach you, but you can scan them as they try.
i'm about to build my first base, is there anything i need to know before i start?
make sure you have plenty room to grow
There isn't anything that you need to know, but some information could be helpful.
- When building underwater, you need to make sure your base's hull strength stays above 0, or it will flood (you can repair it).
- Build in an easily-accessible location that you find interesting or enjoy being in.
- Windows and plants always make bases more comfortable, and the latter can be useful for food, water, and crafting.
ok thanks
Yes and no, you will have to there so be prepared
Meatieā swe's right about giving yourself space to expand, too.
consider your power sources too
Think around 300.
It's below 250 meters.
Yes but early game players swim down there
you don't necessarily need to take a seatruck down to deep twisty
get a rebreather first
both deep twisty
Down there
rebreather: at 170m depth in twisty bridges by a little crane
Diamonds are also only found directly on the ground or on walls. However, there are large diamond deposits in this game.
are 2 solar panels enough to power the base for now?
That depends on what you want to power inside, but it should be good. Also, solar panels are more effective when they're close to the surface, so if you'd like you can connect them to your base with a power transmitter if it's deeper.
thanks
I love how there isn't one, so scanning those big fishies is more exciting
I wouldn't be unhappy if they did include it, but I do think it was a good choice not to.
in the canyon at about 250m, there are holes going down
but its very pretty
make sure you notice where the o2 plants are. They refill after 30s
What is the cooldown of Oxygen Plants? It's less than 30, right?
I thought they gave you 30 seconds worth and allowed you to replenish oxygen every 40 seconds.
40, hmm
not certain, I think it's 30
That would mean you can't survive indefinitely on one plant, but you could with two.
I think you can survive with only one
I might try it and see.
Is my base cool š?
It is indeed! You did a great job in a limited space. I like the verticality. However, it doesn't have very many windows....
Great job!
Umm yeah I forgot about windows š I have like 1 on the other side but I'll put more, I didn't put many because I was short on quartz
Ty ty
If you'd like, there's a lot in the ||Glacial Basin||.
Cool, I'll check it out, thanks
squidsharks are kinda pretty
I agree completely; spikey traps are fascinating, if not necessarily beautiful.
Can they be both?
Rubies in Koppa mine and Spiral plant in Tree Spires inside the ||giant vent gardens||
Look at the map found in delta station for locations of alterra bases
No, they don't have the opening that lets you inside. Rubies are also found in the ||Lilypads Crevice||.
I am not able to save my game at all... what do i do?
so i installed the game, got some mods, and started to play the game for 1.5 hours.
and then i encountered a bug where i was not able to put down my floating inventory outside. so i thought "hey, lemme just save and reload, it should just work fine."
but i wasn't able to save and i lost all my progress
i tried re-starting the game with a fresh start, played for 5 mins, and its STILL not able to save....
obviously you have to try without mods first. Any mod not properly updated can break the game
You said on the other channel that the modding community said your problem isn't mod related. So I have two questions. The inability to drop a floating device from your hotbar seems mod related, as it's caused by the mods that extends the slot bar. Do you have it? And do you have any kind of error when you save?
that mod is More Quickslots
Also I would assume they asked for your Player.log. Share it here as well. If they didn't, I hardly see how they would have known.
all the mods are last updated around 2021... (i installed from nexus) so i'm assuming there were no issues after that
the log has only one personal detail: your windows user folder name
wrong log, find player.log in:
%userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\Unknown Worlds\Subnautica Below Zero\
that looks like the autosave mod
yes, should i ask the modding discord again?
just remove the mpd and try
also remove More Quickslots, known issues
that mod is dead, but there is a replacement: quickslots plus
okay! Thanks!, lemme get back to you
thanks! removing auto save fixed it! and i changed to quickslots plus
is there any other equivalent to the autosave mod?
Your fingers. save 4 times an hour
I might be getting below zero on Wednesday
I think it's okay here, if it's not off-topic. If it is, I believe it's supposed to be in #memes-and-media .
Then, I think it's fine to post here.
They look hungry! That's a good photo!
I'm basically 90% done with this game and I'm only starting to enjoy it now lol
I have a plethora of picture frames in my base. I'm running out of room for screenshots in my PDA.
I need to find more with warmer colors, since so many of them are white and blue.
I did get some good ones in the ||Deep Lilypads Cave||.
There's a lot in ore veins and ||Spy Pengling sites|| in the ||Glacial Basin|| (and maybe the ||Arctic Spires||), but it can also be found in some of the deeper cave biomes, such as the ||Deep Lilypads Caves||.
Also any place with sea monkeys can be a source of magnetite...
technically?
If you have progressed in the story...||when you have Al-An in your head, sea monkeys bring resources to you, and if you have recipes pinned, they have a chance to bring something you need||
yes i know
if i stop driving my seatruck will enemies like ||shadow leviathans|| attack it still?
I remember when leviathans used to attack vehicles when you were not inside.
Fun times.
No.
I forgot to buy one.
||They won't steal if you have him inside your head||
I meant buy. I was joking, I was testing things so it wasn't a legitimate playthrough, I had the oxygen cheat on.
Also when I say leviathans don't attack unpiloted vehicles I meant in this game, not the first one of course.
This is the Below Zero channel.
true...
The reason why it changed is due to the Seatruck, it would be very inconvenient if they would grab your Seatruck while you are inside the modules.
As for the Prawn Suit, it's for consistency and because people complained their Prawn Suit disappeared when they were inside the deep alien base.
yo
What happened?
wow
So it clipped into your Seatruck?
I assume you can't pick them up. I thought titanium from scanning fragments when you have a full inventory was lost, rather than ending up somewhere.
Can you push the Seatruck from the outside?
Did you try to reload? Attach a module and enter by the module's entrance?
Save and reload.
you can still get the mk1 module
Also you can regenerate the area and the titanium will be gone.
If it's still stuck.
got infinite loading screen for saving game what do I do?
sorry, you have to terminate the game process. The main game loop has hung.
In case it happens again, save often!
Symptoms: doors not opening, fish not spawning, if you move terrain is not loading
is it possible to slay the Icewyrm?
No, the ||ice worm|| is totally invulnerable. It cannot be scanned, either.
well there goes my plans for a nice Snowfox ride
Walking around the ||ice spires|| in my ||prawn|| to annoy the ||worms||
(I'm lost and i dont know how to get out or atleast find the ||architect flesh||)
Hello, I'm starting out in the game and I don't know where to build the base, I was thinking of doing it in the arctic kelp forest, which is like a point where there are several biomes, what do you think?
I tend to make my first bases on a ledge a little south of the drop pod. Can build up out of the water, and it leads to a ledge where you can build downwards too
The starting area has most of the resources you need at first aswell
That's a great location! You can't really go wrong as long as you don't build in a tiny, inaccessible cave somewhere.
I usually built a small starter base right next to the drop pod, so I donāt have to bother with building another fabricator. Only put enough there to get by until I make my main base.
i just make do with my drop pod until i make my base, usually near the end of twisty bordering delta island and purple vents
The physics of the Snowfox allows you to make some... Interesting jumps.
||Darn I'm in the tundra void||
Whats the || The tundra void ||
This.
Ay important question
There's garunteed to be atleast two ||grappling arms|| fragments in the game, right?? Cause i swear i'v scoured every damn nook and cranny in the ||lillypad crevice|| like, five times already and i cant find the second one
Yes, there are
This video shows how to find the Grappling Arm fragments for the Prawn in the Lilypad Crevice in Subnautica Below Zero. Short, sweet, and efficient, I hope it helps anyone looking. As of this video, the spawn locations are always the same nests. If this changes, please let me know so I can update.
Delta Station Dock: -129 / 4 / -577 || Nests w...
You have the exact coordinates on the wiki.
Im on ps4, i cant use the coordinates, unless ya got a clue how to
Thanks
bruh i just lost like an hour of storage sorting because my game decided to freeze my entire computer while driving a seatruck at ocean level
guess you learn to save after doing stuff you don't wanna lose progress on
Yes, very unfortunate, sorry to hear that. But rest assured it happened to all of us and it will happen again. So save often is the only advise here.
yetā¢ļø
there is a good multiplayer mod with synchronisation ?
not for bz
and for subnautica ?
yes, but it works on legacy only
I've heard that some modders are developing multi-player for BZ too, but it's not out yet
The mod is currently in alpha and only patreon users can access it. When the beta version is released, it will be available to all users.
okok
Does anyone know where I can see the recent below zero updates?
There is no recent Below Zero update.
how in the world the seatruck explode into my base
I think it was caused by the foundation
how did the foundation get in there
but my base is overprotected by foundation, i have 56 point of resistance š
The foundation was clipping through the base, and through the seatruck as well
oh yeah probably
again, how did the foundation end up there
it's a world that i have since the early acces of below zero, so theres a lot of bugs like that in this saves
Can someone help me my prawn suit is stuck there and i can't get it out i tried to reload the game but nothing : (
Do i need to build a new one ?
Use commands.
How im on xbox ?
Check the wiki, I don't know the combination.
Oh ty
Just know that you'll disable the achievements left though.
up up down down left right left right B A start

subnautica below average
problem?

trolling is gonna be bad for you mmkay
Aight. I'm beginning ||Operation Fabrication.|| (The end game stuff)
I've got:
||Sea truck with full depth mod, fabrication module, and docking bay with prawn with grappling hook + drill(ik drill aint exactly necessary but i didnt feel like taking it off), and all the stuff to make an architect + food/water incase im looking for a while.||
Any other reccomendations for stuff to bring?
I suggest saving for the last time now, for a better post-end game
I saved about four times in the last five minutes
well don't save until the end, is my suggestion here
the actual end is not in the deep, btw
but it's not long then
Ah, gotchya
Should i take the sam items? ||The necklace and all?||
I'm a sentimental type and if this is the last chance i get to pick up things from my base then i wanna bring em
Why no save? Sea monkeys ||will steal again when dude leaves your head||. That's all
ah
Gotchya
They only like him. It's suspicious.
maybe they think he's one of them
for the monkeys to even notice, he has to be communicating with them
Bwuh i wanna do a run where a only live in my seatruck bit thats gonna take a while to get everythinf
For bonus points, spend most of your time with the psychedelic fish
Also
Can someone like
Point me in A Direction for the ||fabricator caverns||
Like should i look in the north?
Deepest point i can find is the ||organ cache|| and im very lost-
They are close.
try looking for a way down through the purple vents
Thanks-
I've been scraping my nose against the floor looking for a hole lol
Didnt think to just go straight
Is there any command to teleport seatruck because this happened?
You could reload.
How?
Did you save already?
no
If not, you could reload without saving, if your save was before that.
You mean leave and rejoin?
Your second option is to give me a specific file from your save.
My save was before this happened.
should I leave and rejoin?
If your last save was recent, it's perhaps your best option.
yeah my last save was 5 mins ago
Last time before I left I saved, so this is good
still recent
ik
do you know where i can find the snowfox?
Do you have the map?
phi robotics, and outside scattered in the snow
all over glacial basin
first time I saw the worm that comes out of the ground I was so friggin terrified
wait til it eats a salker. very cool animation
throw them far up in the air
I can't find that stupid phi robotics thingy
I was on the island
but I can't find that outpost or whatever u call it, I found the bridge tho
theres a beacon Phi landing pad. if you didn't remove it
and I made hydraulic fluid and fixed it
beacon, there was no beacon?
there will be when you get nearer
if you find blue plants with pink pepper fruit, these are really good to grow
they like tunnels and caves. Large blue plant
So I'm here, where do I go to the outpost?
oh u were right
Where is the last snowfox fragment?
I found 2 at the base
I dont even really like that biome...
nvm I found the last fragment
W
What is the bridge for?
The bridge that you repair?
yeah
It's to access the ||Arctic Spires||
Artic spires? Like the big monumental snow thingies?
If you're referring to this, then yes
Its in the ||Mercury 2|| wreck
Which one?
Behind the island, in the Purple vents
behind what island?
What stage are you up to
idk wdym
Have you received a beacon about a delta station dock
yea
And youve been there
yea
you will need more than one wreck. They are all mercury II though
And it's difficult without a laser cutter
What's this?
Its an artifact. Theres a lot more scattered around the map. Be sure to scan them if you find them
Omega Lab is underwater
no that's the pilots greenhouse. you will be invited here later
there are pepper fruit in the tunnel below
in the tunnel below?
yes, just above water
got a spare beacon? stick it in the snow here
(don't just drop it on land)
It's very good to always carry a beacon
I did
bro this tunnel?
no, above water
this one?
oh ok
and notice the fruit heat you up
Can u harvest them in those food thingies?
what? you can pick the fruit
can u plant them and make more?
There is an alien cable in lilypads islands biome, follow that
You should use the Alterra map taht you've been provided with
I did use the map
Then ^^^
Is the base underwater?
omega is west-south-west
Yes
Follow the cable to a cave with ligth sticks, omega lab is there
it is hidden ||inside a huge rock||
What can I use to plant pepper plant?
Indoor thingy or small plant pot?
oh small plant pot works quite nicely
Either works
I think lantern fruit gives more body heat
it gives none
But it does taste of kerosene
pepper is a pretty nice food, with some water
And later, ingredient to the best food by far
it does bro what u on abt
oh, I was wrong
but they are really big to carry around
the peppers actually grow on land where you need them
Which one lasts longer?
hanging = lantern, heat = pepper
How do you make spicy fruit salad?
Preston's plant leaf?
One leaf and one pepper yes, but as said you need the recipe in the greenhouse.
It's your reward from completing the quest.
guys I've been looking for 45 minutes straight on the mercury II and I only found 2 parallel processing unit fragments, can someone show me where the other one is?
There are total of 6 fragments in 3 separate wreck pieces, and half of them need laser cutter
If you're at the stern section, there's only 2, and you need to find another wreck section
Map with the mercury pieces
The Stern is the one most people find first
Jeremiah talks about the stern section
I found two more pengwing eggs today in the West Arctic.
Yess I forgot to tell you, there are a bunch of pengwing eggs in the icebergs near Glacial Basin
Well, I don't mind discovering them myself. That's where I found these.
When you make the Spy Pengling, the PDA says that pengwing eggs are often found in caves near thermal lily roots, but is this ever actually the case?
I only saw one
That is probably some 'flavor text' for us
I actually never bother with the eggs, since my aquarium module scoops up so many
