it's everything compared to them
seatruck base is the same as seamoth
it's everything compared to seamoth
I cried for days when loosing my cyclops
But you get used to it dw
I want to put that lockers in my seatruck
xd
Are there guns in the game
Not really. Well torpedo launcher, but it's not very useful
perimeter defense will always be more useful
what does big worm do
what else
very cool how it eats a snow doggo. It knocks you off your bike, does a lot of damage
what does it say when you scan it
You can't scan the live one, but there is a dead one. It says ice worm, 90 meters long or something
can you stab the worm and kill it
no
trash game
lol
no?
No that’s normal I think
how would that be a red flag lol
Just beat below zero
Nice. How was your experience?
He’s not a mushroom
His hat looks like a mushroom
Just type your question, usually someone will answer.
Calaverite outcrops (looks like a yellow/brown loaf of bread); in arctic kelp caves and thermal spires, so not in the immediate proximity of the drop pod.
If you have scanner room or mineral detector, you can search for calaverite outcrops, or gold (there are some ore veins in thermal spires). If you have prawn with drill arm you can get lot of gold in Koppa mining site.
ok thank you
U really just was so desperate to find gold? You like told you need help in two channels and pinged a mod
yes
i needed gold
Its an early game item
oh
You can find it in the deep twisty bridges
I dont think he can go there if he just started
It’s in the shallow parts I went there when I started aswell
My pod thing crashed rlly close to one
Below Zero, I have heard bad about it but is it mainly it as a subnautica game or just a "game". Thinking of buying it
Note: I know some "major" plot details about below zero cus it came 2 years ago
Not the plotline, just points in that line.
Cus I feel that the hard fans of certain games may make it sound like the game sucks but in fact it is just not really a worthy game in that series/does not carry on what the past games created. (looking at you ac fans)
Are you wondering if you should buy this game?
If you buy it on Steam you could place a timer, try to go as far as you can under two hours and if you don't like it you can still refund.
Nah. I am buying it, and playing it through. Just looking to hear what people think bout the game
BTW I have subnautica on epic games, can I do mods in there too?
Quick off topic questiom
Some of them are probably not updated, but a lot were.
With the latest update.
The current update is the same build as on Steam.
Huh?
I have no context on that message
I'm talking about mods.
Some mods were probably not updated for the lastest build, so they won't work. But a lot of them are.
But umm so I don't need to have subnautica on steam inorder to play mods?
No.
Ah good
Can i use my ion cubes for items or should i safe all of them
Keep one for the story, use the others for whatever you want to do.
Maybe a second one for a portal.
And remember recyclotron if you suddenly need ion cube and you don't have any left...
Well, obviously better to remember recyclotron when you still have one ion cube😉
Maaan Subnautica online would be so insanely dope! I know mods do exist but it'd be cooler if the game itself supported it
And have like 2 man puzzles and stuff
i have a question: what's the ratio of picture frames in subnautica (and bz)?
i want to draw stuff and place it in screenshots folder so that i can have the drawing in my save
Could you check yourself by taking screenshot in-game and then look at the file data?
they are 3440x1440, that's my monitor's size, but in game they are smaller
the picture frame must have some other proportions
oh i found the answer - it's 1920x1080
but i learned how to look at file data thanks to you
I got i think it was 13
whos ship is this and why do i kind of want to go in it?
I think you actually come out of it at the start of game...see the small shuttle on top right? (Just the drop pod showing on the cropped image)
no the big ship
yea
you have to go far away from the land
yea
ok
true
its probably gonna telleport u back when u fall from the prawnsuit liek 2000 meters deep
like*
yea
is this a levi?
yea
yes
ok
its robins ship
ok
Its basically death in fish form uless you are a gigachad
bruh
It isn't her ship.
It's the ship she used to go to the planet, she paid the guy she's speaking to in the intro.
I am going to put all the little penglins in the bioreactor
put a label on it: club penguin'
How do I put a label on bioreactors
label. Not sure it works, but possibly
8192 meters
you spawn in shallow "twisty bridges".
biomes: Yes.
oh not spawn actually, but the pod is there. You spawn north of it on land
Hey what do you mean by yes
I mean I won't say. spoilers
Oh ok
minor but still
I dont remember anything from the below zero series I watched like 2 years ago
Good!
Save often, explore everywhere, bring a beacon always
Honestly I hope we get to explore space a little bit as well in Subnautica 2
Would be kinda cool to do a few things in space, then the space ship would get shot down or something then you need to evac and you have only so many seconds then you land on a planet....
Then "ocean man" starts to play 🙂
oh u
I got a termical bottle thing how do I fill it up
coffee maker. It's not super useful

i cant be the only one who has to get their crosshair in the midle of the two dots on becons
U are not the only one
8h? well the speedrun (complete game) is around 35 min
why is my material detector beeping very fast here? i dont see any fragment
i dont think it can be below ground because of how fast it is
it's inside a rock. it happens
Man how in the haell
shared tricks. Using some glitches too I think
quick sample: to save time, teleport to the pod: just die
There are some advantages of using the mouse scroll wheel when collecting resources you can’t match on a controller. After that it’s all knowing about where you need to find the right resources and collect only what you need. The dying trick to return to your base saves time on the return trip, but has to be done correctly to avoid losing resources you’ve gathered.
but mostly it is intense planning and sharing tricks (strats) with other speedrunners
I did my fastest run last week of around an hour and 20 min I think. SteamDeck with controller.
speedrunning is incredibly boring, repetitive and time consuming. We're talking months.
Indeed.
For me it’s the beginning part and finding what I need in the twisty bridges. I always get turned around…
How do I kill shadow leviathans?😈
Can't really do the Stasis + Knife combo because the Stasis Rifle doesn't exist.
At least without cheats.
Prawn punch and drill arm, and lots of repair tool.
Went all the way to the west to find ||trivalve|| eggs only to realize there were some right by my base in ||deep lily pads|| 😔
Well, I got blue ones now
Four blue and two gold for the whole map.
dumb question but how do i get here 😭
it's inside koppa mine. Entrance south-west of delta shore, depth 150m. Boxes, lights in a deep hole
ty
Trying to make a depth module mk1 for the seatruck but i don't have the lithium... 😩
ooooooooooooooo
head to delta station dock, do a 180, there should be a cave entrance about 5m in front of you, go down that tunnel
me too i need help
what is it you need help with?
this
do you have the delta station beacon?
Continue little past the delta station dock, when you see purple fumaroles bursting from the ground, look for lithium at the seabed
thx
Man i made an insane base ngl
Nice, just got a base established.
Oooh, I like the added glass hallway between the large room and the MP rooms
got all of my chargers set up, that's what i burned my lithium on
same
Theory- ||what if below zero is sort of like a sub story to the next Subnautica 2 game. In subnautica Below Zero we see a HUUUGE frozen leviathan. What if that ice melts and it wakes up? Perhaps that will be part of the story in Subnautica 2||
Good idea.. isn't it also rumored that there'll be co-op? does this mean that sub2 is the point where sub and sub0's stories join?
me need help
what do you need?
i need help with the pilots last know pistion mission
there should be an entrance to a cave network at the location of the beacon, it's an area search mission, try searching the cave system.
and i would like to know where i can find diamonds.
Diamonds: deep twisty bridges or Koppa mining site. If you have already done one specific thing, sea monkeys can also help...
You preferably need seatruck with at least mk1 depth module...you need to dive quite deep. But as already mentioned, the beacon is where your pda tracking lost her; you need to search the area a bit
what are the 3 main storylines?
the cure, the alien/getting off the 4546B and what else
i thought the cure and robin's sister's death mystery is one storyline. what is the 3rd story?
Old angry grandma
nah she's a part of sam's story.
Correct, the two story lines are ||Sam's story with Maida and the Cure of the frozen levianthan|| and ||AlAn and leaving 4546B||. Personally I would consider base building and exploring as a kind of a third story line. But that might only be me.
I consider Sam and Pilot separate story lines, although there is a connection. You can complete them separately
oh alright, i thought there was a more concrete third one
Well you see the entriy above from @steel stream . You can consider ||Maida and Frozen Levi|| as seperate stories although for me (personally) they are Sub-Stories all under the story line "Find out everything about Sam". But you can play it the way you perfere.
i mean ive beaten the game before, just with extensive amounts of cheating for the land part lol
Excellent, congratulation. Yes, the land part is tricky.
i want to do the playthrough withiut cheats this time tho, i might disable the temperature thing though
idrk why they put such a large land part
What kind of cheats are you refering to? Commands or just looking up where to go? I would go with normal survival mode, temperature is not such an issue once you have the cold suit or a lot of coffee 🙂
commands, literally flying everywhere and giving myself stuff lol
yh i should probably get the cold suit this time xd
For the land part, I made two video tutorials that show you everything you need to go and you are done withing a couple of minutes, if you only want to go through as quickly as possible
idk why i didn't get even a snowfox the first time
Or eat peppers/other food that gives heat, or use vehicle (snowfox/prawn), or use caves/heat vents to stay warm...there are many options to handle the cold
Correct
oh wow cool, would you mind sending the link?
how do i combat the worms? snowfox?
No, nothing to fight for
Try to dodge, use medikits
Here is glacial basin: https://youtu.be/5kF4-4AbuP4
i tried, gave up, flew above the map xd
and here is arctic spires: https://youtu.be/i_QKANUgjlg
never try to explore the arctic spires with 2x more damage taken
One more option to stay warm: builder tool, some quartz and titanium to build I corridor and hatch when you need to warm up (doesn't even need power to get heat)
Also helps to use spy pengling in areas with snow stalkers
oh thats handy
the ice worm did one attack and it killed me
yep same
i was on full hp
the snow wolves or wtv too sometimes
Prawn suit in the arctic all day everyday
prawn suit = god mode
Me who went to the arctic spires without snowfox or prawnsuit
Yup
I only use snowfox near phi robotics.
That the ice worm tremors knock you off it was just a little too frustrating. I had to go prawn for the spires.
If i need to get into koppa mine are there oxygen plants in there?
because if not i'ma make so many air bladders for cheese
Yes, there are a few oxygen plants
Ok, cool. Thx
Oxygen plants kinda ruined the suspense of going deep down without a vehicle
For me at least
they are useful for getting the high capacity tank and exploring the kelp forest caves
I really like bz's leviathans
worm
Personally I think the ||void leviathan being a bigger paler chelicerate|| was kind of lame, but I still like them
Kinda...2 oxygen plants within 30 second swim range and you can dive in the area forever
But you could technically say the same about brain coral in first game, which you could also plant where you wanted
It's objectively more effort than original subnautica's void leviathan
Where do I find gold
look
I mean what biomes have the most amount of calverite outcrops
when you start the game you sart on land then you jump in the water when you jump just swin near the wall of the land keep following unti you find a little hole there is a jackpot of gold and sivler
Oh
Ok
I actually made a vehicle in time now
Cuz in subnautica I made it way to late
no need vechile its like 3 meters deep
K thanks
how in gods name do i get spiral plant clipping i want to make a depth module v2 for my prawn but i cannot seem to find this silly plant
inside a vent garden. This is a huge parked jellyfish directly south of delta
You can plant the clipping
i will make them extinct just for 1 clipping
also sea monkeys are pretty cool they been giving me alot of stuff and they probaly dont know i stole one of their eggs and used it as bio fuel
below zero is so fun for the first time
Good luck with that.
i dont need luck i only need a prawn suit and 1 knife maybe just maybe repulsion cannon
find alien
you will receive cords for delta island soon or for alien cache.
it's triggered by exploring , like, going east or diving deeper in twisty bridges
explore in the opposite direction of the volcano (explore south)
ok
is below zero worth buying, ive heard its not as good as 1st one but is it still fun?
I enjoyed it so I would say so
If you liked the first one, it’s got a lot in common, just you aren’t quite alone in the same way
You played the first game?
I think I had explored like every area except the lava place
@broken badge do the leviathans be making scary noises and stuff in below zero
I love just feeling on edge like i do in the first game so if its like that in below zero im sure ill like the game
Scary is subjective. So what I or someone else considers scary may not be the same as what someone else does
I thought they did a good job with the leviathans, but it’s hard to compare I think when players have something they’ll always measure against, which is the original
would you say the original game does a better job of delivering that mysterious/spooky ambience than below zero?
or they are comparable in that sense
uhhh
im also thinking of picking it up
I think that’s more of the focus of the original, yes
That’s not to say there aren’t moments of spookiness and tension, but the focus was much more on that for Subnautica vs Below Zero.
And I think some of that was intentional due to player feedback the developers received
Because while there are certainly fans who loved the spooky vibe of Subnautica there’s also a lot of casual players who wanted a less, idk, terrifying experience I guess?
heard the map isnt as big
It’s not as big, because it started out as planned DLC
idk i barley started playing and has noot ecplored that much but have mad eSOME progress
the graphics make it look more immersive and that's something that's really drawing me in
along with the base building
I love how great it looks, and the weather effects are incredible as well
is it still good looking on ps4?
It does look good, it even looks amazing on Switch
I remember the first subnautica being extremely choppy on PS4
So I imagine BZ wasn’t much better
Runs like a dream on series s though
Is there a way to pick up ore diposits?
prawn suit's drill arm
No i mean caring around like in the base game
So they fixed it, sad
My club penguin biorector really gonna like its fuel
should i use my penglins for bio
There are better things.
It's still viable, but it isn't the best.
People encouraging you to do so are most likely people who seek attention by being edgy.
A gel sack for instance is better. Even the arctic peeper would be a better fuel.
The best one is the root pustule.
What I would have loved to have is that you could connect a growbed/plant pot to the bioreactor next to it, so it would consume the fruits automatically. Looking at all the hightech available in the game, that should have been possible 🙂
I know there is a mod doing that for creatures in the ACU, maybe it exists for growbeds.
Just joking, a little bit of fitness is good for Robbin to go down to the reactor room to fuel the fire 🙂
She does swim a lot already. I think she gets plenty of exercise.
I even built a fitness room in her base, but what you say makes me realize that was for nothing
I'm sure I could get plenty of inspiration in base design by looking at yours. I never know how to build inside. I think I get the outside right though.
Cheers, thanks for the compliment. If I only would get as much exercise as Robbin 🙂 Btw, did you see my video with the whale shark on youtube? We got lucky to swim with a 12-15m giant fish. I am completly blown away.
What biom has the most Green Crack?
No drugs in BZ (except from Lilypaddler, which makes you high as hell)
Bruh uranium
Cristal Cavern and Deep lilypad cave and Tree spires
K ty
Note that you can also find quite many reactor rods in ||Mercury 2 wrecks||
Depends how you define 'best biofuel': if criteria include possibility of growing renewable fuel at your base, something else could win the title...
Best as it has a lot of energy. I see where you're coming from, but it is renewable as the seamonkey can give you them.
The problem is, they have to be in a specific biome.
Didn't know that sea monkeys can give that
If a hatched sea monkey is released in for example tree spires, what resources it can bring you? Will there be a separate list, or will it use some list for biomes where monkeys spawn naturally?
There is a default list, a biome list, and a pinned items list.
The pinned items list itself has a biome list for ruby and nickel.
Only in Lilypads.
The biome list (no pinned items) has the biomes where they usually spawn.
It would have been nice if there were some secret biomes when released from an ACU.
The default list contains quartz, copper or titanium.
So, to answer your question if you don't pin anything in Tree Spires, you'll only get these three.
Of which many of them are empty 😦
True, but you can still get enough full rods to fill at least one reactor
So if the pinned list has biome list for ruby and nickel (only lilypads), I guess these two cannot be received anywhere else, even with appropriate recipes pinned? But others, like diamond or magnetite work if in pinned recipes.
Why is the name below zero
Maybe because of the arctic environment? Like reference to cold temperature (Celsius, not Fahrenheit)
Because the temerature in the game is below 0°C
@west mountain ohhh makes sence
Sorry for tagging was accident
My phone scrolled up
I'm curious, does using the console commands on pc disable steam achievements for Below Zero?
Yes.
Ok thanks, what about WeMod
I have no idea what that is.
WeMod
Repeating the name doesn't help me understand what it is lol
Lol, spelling error. But ok.
Just looked it up. I have no idea why you'd want to use something like that for Below Zero, but I'm also not sure if it would disable achievements.
Correct.
@safe sun Lol why? To use cheats of course, I would just use the console commands but they disable the steam achievements. I don't think WeMod disables them though. I'm not new to Below Zero, completed so many playthroughs on the ps5. Kinda want to rush through and get all the achievements even though playing it normally can take only a few days to finish.
Alrighty.
Qmods alone has a series of patches that are applied to the game. One of them bypasses the cheat flag.
So just having Qmods in this game will get you the achievements even if you use the console.
Does the scanner room provide default cameras in below zero too?
No.
How can i see where my scanner rooms are located Like i have 5 scanner rooms running but i forgot to place beacons so i have no idea where they are
If you are on PC I could give your coordinates, otherwise you would have to find them yourself.
I am on pc
Then share your global-objects.bin and I'll tell you where they are.
Steam?
Im just using them because I hate them
What did a pengling do to you, to the point of hating them?
I have my reasons
I'm sure you do.
Always place beacons with your scanners if it’s in a spot you can’t remember. If you have enough power and leave it scanning, and have the HUD, you’ll know when you come into range of it.
Am I correct in thinking that a single fuel rod can power a scanner room for 13 hours?
Well it supplies 20,000 energy
Then 11 hours. I though it was 25k.
30 active, 9 standby if the wiki is correct so 11 hours active and 37 hours standby assuming no other loads if I did the math right.
Like an interactive map? Because this one is the best imo.
Thank you bro
👍
where do I get bigger tank than 75 or where can I unlock a stronger model
at 120m deep in twisty bridges, there's a small building. there
how big will the tank be then
135 total. that's not the biggest tank
tip: you can carry 2 of them, swap underwater. Just remember to fill the extra!
it's in the eastern twisty bridge canyon
is it this tube?
yes
think I can make it in and out with 75 oxygen
yes
there are some o2 plants
also: the air bladder is now really good. Fast, or you can get 10s of air from i
got it. What about the rebreather?
170m deep, not far, bit west by a little crane
of course
why isn't rebreather mentioned? it's in the pic
coords are x y z. Y is of course depth
got it
I love it how I found the sea truck fragments before the vehicle bay which im still kind of ish looking for
this is kinda typical. truck is easier to spot. MVB:
its kinda goofy ngl because in Subnautica finding the cyclops was way harder than vehicle bay lol
the truck is more like seamoth, but can have rooms on the back. It's your first vehicle
ngl even the sea moth was hard to find
I found the vehicle bay so easily
i spent years looking for that THANK YOUU 💀
sup
Important question, which bed do you like the most?
uhhh the single bed
the one with lifepod 5 on it
Just looked through the list, that ones pretty cool
My favourite is the ghost leviathan one
i was gonna say that in the first place but sticked with the orginal bed
Well other than special designs, I'd pick a double bed
hmm ok
Cheapest one
what do I do with ion cubes or where can I find data blueprints to build them into those batteries
scan artifacts
c o p p e r
SO MUCH
I left my scanner on for like 30 minutes while exploring
Ah yes, copper
And I came back to coppius amounts of copper
Mine them all
that's like an entire map of copper
Wish me luck
Most of my information is from lore vids so a lot of the storys main points I do know to some degree.

So you basically spoiled yourself before playing the game?
Going in quite blind compared to subnautica 1, but not as blind.
save often, bring a beacon always, exploring everywhere is key
Subnautica 1 was fully spoiled because I have watched videos from it since the beta
but have not gotten to play it. Only recently.
Save rarely, bring a beacon never, exploring nowhere is the way
Never leave your lifepod! monsters out there
No worries I can play games.
It's not really a lifepod tho?
Are you sure?
Yes
it is I think. it's not an escape pod. You get it the first 5 min
Below Zero requires lots of skill
I don't mean the lander
Its not a game for everyone
heheheh
I will save this photo and after I have hardcore finished the game 30 times straight we will come back to the topic.
Dont forget to kill all the leviathans
Plot points because I have watched lore vids. Not the plot, not the story, not the gameplay, the biomes etc. Most I know is the names and looks of leviathans, the vehicles, lore, mercury 2(almost nothing about it tho, excited for it)
Only reapers
but there is none here. That is my code.
Why only reapers? You have to kill all hostile leviathans
Unless there are some really annoying ###### leviathans.
Ghost leviathans are probably the most kind creatures in subnautica 1
I spend most of my time with them
lilypadlers are the only sn creatures worthy of death
Tho that spoiled nothing cus 0 understand hehe
maybe more play, less chat spoil. Come back when you can't find table coral
No they are not all hostile leviathans in subnautica do not have feelings and they dont feel pain either
So there is nothing wrong with exterminating them all
None of them has mutual feelings towards you
Your affection for them will only get you dead the moment you let your guard down near a ghost
Kill them all
you are a meanie
@trim root let's be honest here. You are acting like a "Error 1724658142: Wikipedia has no suitable words" , please stop.
Pc crashed, huge 3 mins of swimming lost!
Oh so that is what we used. Interesting.
Weird design in my opinion but...
Dont worry even if you were to find suitable words they would not be allowed on this server
Yes...
Are you really just " kill all leviathans you fool, they cant feel " or you just trolling me here?
Talkin like a war veteran here
guys i cant find marguerits greenhouse again, what direction was it from the droppod again?
Oh god gotta get use to ignoring spoilered photos and text....
||
why did you click me?||
you can, it's safe. And cute
Hehe
||
bc ur cute : )||
DOG?!?!?
dawg
i got a seatruck is that good?
Best vehicle
oh nice
seatruck is the most practical vehicle in both subnautics imo
dang
it can grow with rooms on the back, and depth upgrades to any place in game
oh wow
I think most of them are the same once you unlock them
Okay, so I have seatruck unlocked, but not the mobile vehicle bay, where get that?
it's a bit higher in the twisty bridges
look for these. Also can be in seamonkey nests
I found 2/3 of them in nests, I searched all of the main deep kelp caves, but didnt find one fragment
pictured are in twisty bridges at about 30-80m
Uhh what the hell
Why did I lose 2 laser cutter fragments
That I scanned in Mercury II ship
Uhh
Actually I lost the fragments because I loaded my save
After I died, cuz it wasnt that much progress
yes. On land it can be a little iffy
But I loaded my save before I had died
you don't drop everything: new items since you were in a truck or base. Minus one.
dying inside a truck has no cost
I died outside
Hold up I loaded my save when my screen was black
From oxygen
Are there more laser cutter fragments in Mercury II k7?
I don't see why. Save saves the fragments too
I mean, the ones you scanned will be back
Conclusion: this game literally stole 2 fragmrnts away from me
no... I don't think that's usually possible
Nah I have 1 fragment and the Mercury ship has nothing
anyway, there are many laser cutters, most are in kelp root monkey nests
I can also give you the cheat. this disables further achievements in this save
Uhhh nintendo
yeah, no such thing on switch
Hello Subnautica: Below Zero! 💙
haven't played this game in like 3 weeks
still building base :3
remember this gallery? It's still here :3
i don't remember. thanks for telling me
a month ago I was posting this rainbow gallery in this channel multiple times
Ohhh yeah I remember you you're the guy with the awesome base
I'm about to start building a seatruck dock and moonpool, RIP my base's structural integrity
I need to put up borealis somewhere
this
Yepppppp
Pretty! 🌕 💙
I never thought of borealis from water
looks awesome so far !
framed borealis always work as perfect decoration
bro i can't find my enterior pics, only this
What biome was that in?
ayyy, you've been to the Tundra Void just like me
I've also been to this sand-snow border
welcome to the Tundra Void club!!
just on the surface looking up. but my base is in tree spires
I remember discovering the snowworm animation area on my own with moonjump
Using console commands, googled it and I couldn't find much info about it
Are there 3 paralel processing units in the Mercury II K7 or 2
Stern?
Engine has 1
Wheres the engine then
I haven't played for a while, so I guess the first one I should go to is the one in the purple area and lilypads ||think its of on the way to her base|| right?
Her base is in Tree Spires I think
Nah, not close I dont think
Where the hell is this engine
Small piece, bordering lilypads
East of stern right?
Yes
Which am I thinking of?
Total of 6 in all parts of the wreck (1, 2 and 3 in separate parts). Total of 3 don't require laser cutter to scan
There are 2 in purple vents
The hell
Its near lilypads, I saw it on the way to her base
How did I just send an audio
It's on an angle
Uhhh I cant find the engine, Im going east and nothing
All wrecks are around lily pads
And I got the inactive volcano warning
What's the rule for reinforced walls again?
Uuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
You're in East arctic
Meaning you went east
But passed it lol
Man
You're near it though
Oh it was stern, based off what the pda said
Is it inside this ravine?
You mean "her"?
Nah the engine
It's near a ravine
I have no clue unfortunatly, you can Google it
I found an alien pedestal thing in the ravine
The engine wreck is literally above you
Oh ok
Idk how you entered the ravine without seeing it
Lol
It's sitting next to the entrance
Man Im blind
I cant find it
@waxen trail I found the fossil excavation alien thing but no engine
Seatruck and seatruck dock gotten, now where's the first depth module?
Fabricator
gonna make the entrance look like jungles
Good luck
That will be pretty
Which plants? And which would you say is best in general?
every

please no spammy irrelevant images
He said sigma and I sent the sigma
ok
Good for underwater bases…
So I got the laser cutter scanned on the stern, anything else important I can get without the cutter?
mostly, you can get in another way with no cutter. And only half of the parallell units need cutter
I got in on the bottom of the south side and noticed 4 entrances from that one if I'm correct, where a the good entrance?
I found one fragment on what appears to be the main engine, where are the others that I can get?
Just search for them
Oh really?
I mean.. who remebers the locations of all fragments
Not sure how you're missing it haha
It sits above the ravine towards the lilypads
deep twisty, below 300m
Or Koppa, also some around the thermal vents if you look in the right spots. Scanner room helps greatly.
Ok
I like how new players panic every time they see fauna, but people who play often just swim 5 feet to the left and are safe
The trick is to keep moving. They usually lose interest quickly.
Yea,
Who would win?
A very scary sea monster.
Or someone swimming in a damn circle.
nice fps, even at one moment it reached a peak low of 27 fps!
I was in the deep twisty bridges, I'm never trusting plants again
Nintendo moment (even though it's probably not on switch)
I am on pc, with rtx 3060 and ryzen 5 5600x
Well now you know how anyone who plays anything on switch feels
Subnautica: Below Zero devs should've polished this game better not gonna lie
so many passages 🤭
Is that really in survival?
hello i found 3 prawn suit parts at the mercury II where is the fourth
koppa mine or outpost zero
My goofy asf Xbox one couldn’t handle that
Technically I had to make a resource reset, because my world was running out of titanium
but it's all in Survival so
legit
Wait you can do that? Is it in settings?
Questionable as in you have to go into the files? I'm playing on my steam deck right now (so I guess I should go get that role)
and out of copper too
Yes, it messes up your scanner room, and the fact the game remembers every creature location makes it alive.
it was very critical to such a point that scan fragments were scarce
Also, if you ever use pipes you'll lose them.
Pipes aren't used often anyway
This old build of Subnautica BZ is so goofy
Creatures you killed come back, PDAs are empty of you can't pick them up I don't remember it's different in SN1. The most annoying part is probably the scanner room. And the fact you don't have usually a good reason to do that.
That's true, idk why I was considering it, since I'm not building anything crazy
You guys think this should have stayed in the game?
Ignis, do you happen to know of any trick that might reduce the black loading screen after you die? Takes a good 10 seconds or so here, kind of annoying.
It's the time for the game to generate the terrain around you.
It's hidden behind the black screen.
Yeah, I can do some things while it’s loading, but not much. LoL
So basically the game save file, if that were on faster storage, like a RAM disk, might work better?
Is your game on SSD for instance?
It is, Steam Deck.
Limited ram though for the system, sadly.
Seemed like my PS4 may have been faster in that regard.
I may need to play with some things and see what I can do.
That would be cool, but what's the point of indoor temperatures?
Maybe it could have been a heating system, more heat uses more power or something
Would have been neat, always down for power management mechanics
Hey all.... currently stuck in my seatruck in the swimming animation. I am stuck at the driving terminal and cannot move my camera. Also have tried console commands to warp out but that is not working either
on top of all of that the built in unstuck command is greyed out in the pause menu
Is there any hope for me? or do I have to quit and relaunch, haven't saved in a little over an hour
I named my sea base "Strawberry Jam"
How did you get like that?
I don't know, happened while trying to exit
Did you park in a steep incline?
No, in free water mayble like 5 feet from a cliff drop off
No one wants to
Think I am just going to bite the bullet unfortunatley
Lets see if I was smart and saved more frequently than I thought lol
Wheres the bow? Like I relation to another waypoint
There's really no waypoint, it's south of the stern
If you go straight forwards facing south you'll hit it
I meant a waypoint like delta station dock, you mean it's due south?
Yes
But don't go south from Delta island, you'll be in Tree Spires
I recommend heading south on the border of lily and tree spires, from the stern
Found it, thanks
I like how the PDA say "inoperative" I wouldn't have been able to tell if the PDA didnt say so
Ok, my audio is glitching, but I'm all the way near the bow. If I saved and quit, would it spawn me in the bow? Or the lifepod? @waxen trail
You should always rejoin where you last saved
you continue where you were
Alright, good
If you have a seatruck, you would respawn from that if that is what you last used anyway
that's if you die. You respawn in the last visited truck or user base or lifepod
Yea I do, good
It's a steam deck issue, no clue why It does that
Just that if you go Into sleep mode, then turn it on into the game, sometimes it messes with the audio
Can't even fit it all inside
Hello
Sup
I just finished my Freedom Playthrough of Subnautica, and I'll be doing a Freedom Playthrough of BZ soon, I'll be in here alot, I have lots of information on bz so if anyone needs any help, feel free to ask
That’s a long seatruck lol
The dock was designed with the “average” seatruck length in mind, which is the cabin + 3 modules, iirc
You’re over the average by a considerable bit😂
How many compartments is that, 7+ cabin?
I can’t tell for sure
Most will have seatruck, storage, fabrication and docking or some similar combination, maybe sleeper or another module for one of the ones I listed
Fabricator, 3 storage modules
and I can't ever leave without my favourite sleeper module
Docking on the end too
And the Prawn suit dock
It's pretty slow but I needed to get a lot of resources lol
I keep the teleporter off to the side usually
You know you can use the fabricator module to “condense” resources to put in the storage modules, that’s why the storage & fab modules are such a powerful combo
Usually 1-2 storage and a fab module are good enough for me, because I can use the recyclotron on stuff when I get back to base
can you have more than 1 of the same module connected to your seatruck? I tried but it didn't work for me.
that is such a good strat
I’ll make things into plasteel, copper wire, computer chips, whatever
All you need is the power to do so
And you get ion tech so much earlier in BZ
how? i don't even have the blueprint for ion battery yet and it's driving me crazy
Hint: it’s tied to how many ||architect sites|| you visit. The more you visit the more “perks” you unlock I guess you could say
ok!
managed to figure out you can build a snowfox hoverpad on a platform in the middle of the ocean
don't do that
But it can’t cross water, so it’s better to put it on land
ik that
just thought it would be a good idea since i can pack up the snowfox and throw it in a storage module and then have a charging pad with a constant power supply.
You can pack it up, I take my snowfox with me on land all the time because I walk sometimes and then use the snowfox occasionally for warmth, but the hoverpad charges and also repairs the snowfox
Yes but I like to keep things as raw materials till needed
Even though I can recycle
Yes, the only one you can’t have multiple of is the docking module for the prawn that goes on the end.
Make sure you’re hooking them up right, the handle part for moving them manually goes towards the front.
Fabricator first is the only right way, unless you got sleeper hooked up
I either have it first or in the middle. One fab, four storage, and docking module is my usual setup.
Compress everything, even copper wire and wiring kits down to make a single compass.
I’m can haul so much more that way then recycle at the base as needed. Fewer lockers at the base also doing that.
so, how do i deal with a brute shark stuck inside my ventgarden?
You can try moving far away and then come back to your vent garden.
Okay, what seatruck modules should I prioritize?
Other than the docking one, dont have prawn quite yet
Fabricator module, storage module,
And then that's it? Then docking?
I have both of those unlucked
Yes, usually I try and get all of them but then when you put them all on the seatruck, the seatruck is really hard to rotate and turn when needed, and you don't get the upgrade that helps with that until later in the game so I would just stick with those three for now
I mean even with three modules it gets pretty hard to turn
Well I could swap out the storage and fabricator
Yeah
Sleeper module goated
Okay, I have enough lithium for one module, which should I get first?
JUKEBOX MODULE
Ah the jukebox module, or known as the sleeper module, I would listen to the same track for hours😆
Which module should I get first though? @jovial anchor
Fabricator
So you're not going back and forth to the same fabricator
You can just make whatever you need on the go
Small storage until you make the storage module
yeah
But getting the fabricator module basically turns your seatruck into a semi cyclops
yeah
if you have the recycler you can abuse this small storage before you get the storage module
The recycler is the functional trash can right?
yeah, it turns a refined product into it's components
Oh you're talking about the recyclatron, but isnt there an actual trash can that deletes items you dont want?
yeah there is, not that good tho compared to the recyclatron
I've never used the recyclatron because I've never found its location
Bruh I almost broke it trying to connect it from the wrong side
Oops
Oh there's storage in the fabricator module, that would have made the decision easier
Yeah but it's small, it's just supposed to last you until you make the storage module
oh, idk how you get it other than you don't scan it. and i don't think it's in a data cashe
It's in the deep twisty bridges
And it's scannable
ok, then i just was out of it when I found it.
So the recyclotron should be fun to get🙄
it's a useful thing but it's a pain to get now that you reminded me where it was, isn't there a squidshark there?
No I misread your message, i thought you were talking about the storage module still,
The recyclotron, "can be unlocked by scanning four ||Architect Artifacts||"
oh, yeah the storage module and fab module are a pain but there is something that you can scan to get closer to unlocking the recyclotron in the same area.
I think I only found one of those things when I attempted doing survival mode, hopefully I have better luck in Freedom Mode
I tried survival mode, but somehow in bz it's harder for me to do food and thirst... idk why
I think its because the edible fish are completely different from original subnautica, besides the arctic peeper, and idk where the filtration machine is
in bz just use the coffe machine, infinite coffe that fills thirst and water. put a thermos in it for drinks
Chat gpt gave me this colour scheme called "Aurora borealis theme" I'd say it looks great, I'll probably use this for the rest of the game
that looks awesome!
try and give it a tinge of blue or green
No
Nah sorry, I just thought the "No" was funny, but I like it this way
i get it tho
Where get picture frame?
i just started playing this game again after 1 year break, idk if i should start new save or continue my current one
i have a pretty nice base and i think i was kinda far in the story too
start a new save and keep your stacked one
idk if i have time to complete this game on new save cuz im kinda busy with some other stuff
but then again i cant rly remember what i have already done on this save
i just remember i had to go to the crystal cave or something
I just screamed no out loud, because I accidentally cooked a bladderfish
and you were trying to make water or an air bladder
Water, idk how I'd mess up an air bladder that bad
now that i think about it, yeah how could you?
since it's in a different section of the fabricator menu
i think i might have to make new save cuz i cant remember any progress i have made xd
makes sense after taking a year long break from the game...
i have made like 3 saves by now cuz for some reason i can never get myself to finish 1
wow
Which island has the lab in it?
@idle tundra you have to start a new save
I like subnautica better, but I play below zero more, because it's less scary
Subnautica below zero and subnauitca 1 are almost the same size.
Dunes, mountains, the other side of the aurora, basically most of the crash zone. take em out. So much dark empty space with reapers. The most loot they have is 1. cuddlefish 2. Pda entrys and caches with data terminals for the lore nerds/completionist 3. wrecks with very good upgrade modules that you can find in safer and easier to get to/navigate places. Crag field and sea treaders path are mostly because sea treader cuties area must see. Subnautica 1 has so so much space but only a small amount of it comes to use or is visited and explored. grand reef has a lot of space in the edges many don't visit. Bulb zones edge also has space which servers 0 more purpose than the space behind it (lifepod and backwards) Blood kelp zone northern fair amount of space in the edges that is basically just there. If we add the lost river well I have heard/seen something about the crystal caves, and probably has other large cave systems in below zero. Now the inactive lava lakes and the lava lakes are mostly there for the story and to add sea dragons and create depth into the map to create a need for progression.
When you take all this into consideration the map suddenly becomes just slightly larger than subnautica 1.
Just wanted to throw this out cus people seem to bully below zero because it doesn't have a lot of the same things as subnautica so that apparently makes the game itself bad, I must feed my down with the haters hunger.
(Note only now started playing below zero, I did check the map real quick to see the size.)
I dunno... One map looks larger to me than the other.
....
Dude literally did not even read my message.
Fine if you dont wanna read that all just read the following:
Dunes, most of crash zone, mountains. A lot of space from a lot of biomes serving 0 purpose more than 30% of that biome. Take all that out of the map
and it basically is the same size. Some biomes serve 0 purpose but have cool stuff like sea treaders.
In its mouth?
in the ventgarden
Why not?
im in
😮 Excited to get there hahaha
got what i needed, left and this guy was chasing me, i hate brutesharks so much
Wdym? Looks kinda peaceful
You couldn't write more...
Those same as the starting area sharks?
@frigid thornjust read that then
Brutesharks are very easy to kill
If people can't read that they should stop making dumb reasons why bz is a bad game.
yes
Can't say the same, but Below Zero isn't a bad game at all
Like the thing is the haters reasons for below zero being bad are usually just pointing out things that made subnautica 1 subnautica 1.
Some how the game is a bad game because the story is more direct
Also I have to ask
how often is it that you see people completing subnautica 1 with 0 assistance outside the game itself.
That is a huge no no if it is almost impossible to complete a game 100% without outside knowledge.
i remember there was like an eruption zone somewhere in the arctic kelp caves, does anyone know where exactly?
I don't think u read it but in a nutshell take out dunes, mountains, most of the crash zone, crag field, sea treaders path, the edge of grand reef (pretty big) + small pointless area in different biomes. Take them all out and you wouldn't even notice. What is left is basically the same size as below zero. Sry I have a habit of making msgs long
I have heard stuff like "oh it's way too small" bad game.
Nah subnautica 1 just feels bigger.
You could say the same for Below Zero. If you remove the World Edge, the West Arctic and Glacial Connection, the Sparse Arctic, the East Arctic is really just used for the pilot's story and even Tree Spires isn't usually fully explored.
The fact you usually don't go there doesn't mean you should remove these.
Being on land removes a lot also, considering you don't move on the Y axis.
I dont even think i know where the glacial connection is
It's just the part under the Glacier, a tunnel leading you to the Glacial Basin as well, with jellyfish eggs.
Is it like in the lake near || the antidote || ?
the connection ends at the lake, yes
the other end is where the eye jellies concentrate. At the bottom, under the ice
So I have only heard what people think about below zero. I just started playing it so my information is based on the (mostly negative) youtube reviews I have come across in time.
Yes well I have to explore it for myself but the fact is does below zero need to be larger?
Cus subnautica 1 has a lot of what I call "gameplay filler" add things to explore and do but really give little progression or usefulness in the main gameplay.
Like fr example dunes and mountains.
And a lot of the crash zone.
ahh damn it, I can't think about this rn. Really tiring day, my brains just want to go on auto pilot.
Removes a lot... Perhaps but in a way there are a lot of biomes in subnautica that have very little need for vertical movement.
You'll see if you go in the Arctic (East and West) and World Edge, or even the Sparse Arctic that they could be considered fillers as well. People reading here, especially a playtester, know how subjective the reviews are. There are some point on which I agree on, and some that I do not. I don't think you can argue about the map though, it's a fact. But you know that bad reviews are mostly there because of the comparison with both games. On its own, Below Zero is pretty good.
Ah yes Subnautica, I love "dead ecosystem biome #10"
Filler isn't bad if it's good filler, which Tree Spires is compared to mountains, dunes, sparse reef and sea treaders ( I can't get over that 95% of the Sea Treaders path is actually Grand Reef). Tree Spires has a lot more unique fauna and flora, my only criticism is sticking 2 leviathans in it for some awful reason. But I give it points for trying rather than be boring copy-pasted dead biome
I still and will always believe Below Zero does a lot more with the space provided as opposed to the original
nah
subnautica wipes
below zero is fun but it just does not have the same feel as the first game
This conversation about which one is better as a whole, or about "feel"
But thanks for expressing your opinion
subnatica is definitely better as a whole
then have fun with that game 👍
Yes. Below zero is a good game but people act like it is subnautica 1. If it does not have something in the way subnautica 1 its a bad game.
I just now actually realised
I have heard how BZ has only 2 leviathans
so does subnautica 1.
BZ has as many leviathans as the first game though
Shadow and Chelicerate
Yeah, the equilievanet (apologies) for reaper and ghost
sea dragon and emperor are not really the same
are the grown ups passive tho?
Yes
BZ has as many hostile leviathan species as the original
and then having 2 passive ones
Ye
Wait is the third type neutral? Like commonly
was neutral the name for the type that attacks when attacked (not subnautica talk, just overall)
Subnautica doesn't really have aggression types like that really
Most creatures are either aggressive are passive
some might be less aggressive than others, but all creatures that can attack will usually do so without reason
Well yes that would mean you could be able to attack them hahaha
there's no temperament mechanic
Or way too big to hunt you in a small box the temperature of the sun
Sea dragons...
big fish
Tho kinda small
Always a bigger fish
In the first game, sea trader, only attacks if you harass the children (and may kick you if you are in their path)
My vehicle bay has dissapeared.
I guess Pengwings also do the same actually
Why are there no stalkers 😦
Well yes, but I thought the talk was about leviathans
they evolved to be on icy land, apparently
The neutral part wasn't
like really, but kinda was depending on the pov
In the middle of a stormy day, my trusty survival knife as my companion I shall craft the ultimate truck of seas!
Met my first chelicerate at a safe distant, kinda nice :3!
Gonna go scan this cutey
Oh wait its just a squidshark haha
NOT FUN
take sum medkits for shrimp scan
chelicirate is a shrimp
Ah
Well depends, how much cover do I have to play with.
is bz worth getting
I'd say so
