If the save button isn't safe enough I don't know what would. The only way to save is to use the button, and even if there were other ways, with console for instance you couldn't use them on the Switch.

Regardless of mods or not. The developers do not have some magic way to save the game, edit your game or what not on your device. If your game doesn't save (because of mods or not) then it's not something that can be fixed any more in the moment (with the exception if there's a workaround for specific issues of course). If you experience save issues in an unmodded game you can report it as a bug in #🐞bug-smash for example though.

Which isn't necessarily limited to Subnautica btw. It's like this for a lot of games. If my Minecraft session crashes and I lose progress no one can bring that back. If the server of my CS:GO match crashes it's gone as well 😅

Well I've had to uninstall BZ on Switch. Delta Island is just broken and I've tried multiple saves on two different switches and it always breaks. I doubt Nintendo will grant a refund, but it's pretty disappointing that the Devs are selling a game that is this unstable on the system...

Some sort of memory dump. It crashes the game "because an error occurred." Not sure what the specific cause is, but if I go near the island, I crash maybe half the time, and if I save near it, I'm guaranteed to crash. And when whatever breaks there breaks, your save is basically borked. I can rarely save anywhere now.

It's triggered on four separate saves on two different switch consoles. And players on Sony systems have reported the same thing, so it's not like it is just me.

Yeah it's something to do with the island. It doesn't seem common on pc. But if you even google search "delta island below zero crash" you'll get a metric ton of people reporting it on reddit and such.

It kind of sounds like the memory issues the Switch edition has had for some time now. It may just be that the Delta Island in specific is for some reason a more intensive area and could perhaps more often cause issues. But yeah that definitely sucks :(

Subnautica loads the area around you and unloads further areas. It does not load the entire map at once so it does not matter too much where exactly you are but rather what is inside the area that is loaded.

Maybe they need to try and make all the interiors of buildings and special effects there not spawn unless you're within like 25 meters or something? I don't know. I've tried bug reports, I've tried contacting the Devs directly, haven't hard anything back. And like I said, it's gotten to the point it's literally unplayable so I uninstalled.

I know, but you’re theoretically likely to be spending time (for gathering resources, exploring, base building) near the middle area of the map since it’s close to the starting area. So it might be closer than other areas, and ends up being loaded in mor than them.

The game generally does that already RedNoodlePanda. What's near you is loaded and the rest gets unloaded with the exception of the terrain having some very rough outlines if I remember correctly. But it's unfortunately not a press of a button to solve these kind of issues. They tried to patch out a lot of it at some point with a patch but that took quite a while too.

My point was that you might spend more time around/near it, so it might have been loaded in more than other areas, like Arctic Spires.

Definitely, but selling a game that is unplayable is pretty brutal.

The logic of bases stay loaded. For example the energy generation code is active at all times but the models/collisions and all that stuff get unloaded.

In both BZ and sub, you could see your bases from very far away, usually the shine from a bioreactor or something.

It seems to unfortunately be a bit of a hit or miss in my experience from what I've read here. I've seen some that mostly could play through it all while others had quite some issues. I'm not trying to make it sound better though, it should definitely just work at bare minimum a good portion of the time. Ok so I was just focusing on the server while playing below zero, and I was above water so I didn't drown, I look up quickly, I'm freezing. So I go underwater. I quickly check again. I'm still freezing. Turns out of you stay still under water, you still freeze. It's like real life. I love how they added that. Because when you move, the blood starts to flow through your body, warming you up. Just thought this was really cool.

Once you reach glacial basin keep walking along the shore and look for a bridge, walk on to the bridge and scan the broken bottle on the bridge

It will give you a recipe you need to craft in order to make the bridge work again

Can you farm plants in Subnautica Below Zero? Like some plants when I use my knife on them wont give me seeds unlike in the original Subnautica. For example, if I use my knife on Sieve coral, it wont give me any seeds to grow them in beds and aquariums. How do I get the seeds for these certain plants if it’s possible?

You would think we could get seeds from the Sieve coral but it just doesn’t work. The Sieve coral is the same as the rogue coral from the original game, just a different model, but you can’t farm them for some reason?

I think none of the corals can be farmed in either game...except brain coral in first game

You can farm corals in the original game like table coral, brain coral, rouge cradle, and veined nettle

But I don’t understand why most of all sea plants in below zero can’t be farmed/cut for seeds and used for decorations, unlike in the original game which a wide variety of sea and land plants can all be used for decorations and farming. But the plants in below zero seemingly can’t be used for decorations. So that’s what i’m wondering is if there is a way to get the plants for decorations in aquariums or outdoor grow beds.

I don't know why it seems to be less farmable plants in below zero. And to my knowledge table coral cannot be farmed in either game...have tried that

But there is a difference in that some plants can be picked up as is and grown, others need to be knifed for seeds/spores/samples to be planted. I guess you already knew that and have tried both methods for various plants...

you could simply add 6 more solar panels. Each has a battery of 75. All generators have an internal battery
