I just had a fascinating conversation with YouChat (https://you.com/chat). It insisted that the Jukebox song Subnautic Stimulus is actually DLC for the original Subnautica released in October 2019.

It eventually admitted that Subnautic Stimulus is not DLC and was instead an update for the game in February 2021.

my couple issues with the map is the up and down is def one way to put it

Something about the changes in elevation between certain biomes can feel drastic or cluttered

the progression doesn't feel great, it can either be too sudden or too out-there, and I often find myself just building in the Twisty Bridges almost every single save because of how central everything is. I would build in the Purple Vents, if it weren't for how shallow the biome is meaning Thermal Generations aren't really necessary alongside the overpopulation of Cryptosuchus that scream every 10 seconds

but all the biomes around rocket island, you can go from being more shallow than the starting area to 400m deep within moments

it's a little awkward imo

there's allot of things it does better than SN, but there's some things I prefer how SN did as well

I bet they made the map this way due to the lack of overall size and depth, they tried playing with more mid-biome elevations to add a sense of depth that would have otherwise been missing from the game

I think it works in various parts of the map well, but the overall effect can cause a feeling of clunkiness

maybe if they had gone a different route entirely in plotting the biome placements and map progression it would feel better, but obv it's way too late for that now. Hopefully next game they can use what they've learned from both SN and BZ to bring in the best of both worlds

coz BZ is really h#cking pretty, but the shallowness and very closed in areas with constant walls caves and cliffs struggles to bring in a feeling of unknown and terror that the first game emulates. The only part of the map that makes me feel uneasy is when you go far out in the East Arctic, and there's nothing dangerous even out there so long as you don't go to the map edge.

I hate when people try to compare the feelings of terror between the two games. I mean... neither of which are really intended to be horror games. It was the fear of the ocean that gave players that unnerving feeling when exploring. Also like streamer Sethroven has said, BZ has a lot more going on in terms of sound.

Aside from the OST as well as the occasional ambient noise, Subnautica is a pretty quiet game.

While in BZ, vehicles are a lot more louder and geological features like the fumaroles make a lot of noise.

and I don't think it has to be a terror game, especially if that's not what it's trying to be, but that feeling of terror is absolutely what made the first game go so d@mn hard. I wouldn't call Subnautica a "horror" game, I consider Subnautica's terror to be different from horror.

For me I don't think it's how loud or quiet the games are. I think the stronger factor in the feelings of terror is how the environments themselves are constructed and how the fauna within them are handled. Chelicerates live in very bright and shallow areas close to the surface, Shadows are in very tightly packed cave environments with plenty of obstacles and crevices to hide around, IceWorms get thumped or snowfox'd. They feel more like they're in the way, rather than giving me a feeling of not wanting to go forward and risk attack.

if anything allot of BZ's noises tend to scare me, especially when I'm around the East Arctic. Plenty of unknown roars and screeches that make me jump lol

East Arctic's just creepy in general tho. I like that biome

Correct, nootfish are not meant for the aquarium, and no, in the alien containment tank all animals are friendly to the player and to each other.

Thats how it looks. Its directly by the glacial basin open water. Btw, there is an underwater access tunnel that brings you out into the ocean and it has an alien site inside, just for a bonus. But not story relevant

Well, you have to look for a huge cristal structure hanging down from the ceiling and rising up from the ground like a castle. Look inside there. It is a good idea to place a beacon on the entrance to cristal cavern to find the exit more easily. And you brought one additional ion cube with you, right?

No but soon after. There is a specific point where ||AlAn tells you to finish all your business on the planet||. There you save and proceed, then you can watch the end and come back to game later. You cannot save bejond that point anyhow. So in my case ||AlAn|| is waiting for me for 320 hrs of base building and exploration.

in a base you can either put it in a multipurpose/large room to connect it to another room directly above it, or you can connect hallway compartments via a vertical connecter and place the ladder in the connecter

It is actually the main story why Robin came to 4546B in the first place. To find out everything about her sister Sam. The problem is that the game does not force you to persue this task and so many player forget about it once they got ||AlAn||. That is a flaw in the gameplay and so many player thought that they beat the game but never came accross the highlight of the gane and leave without peace of mind for Robin. I wushed the game would not let you finish without it.

Correct that is left open to the player and Sams role is doubious. But she found a ||cure||. So either way Robin wanted to fill the gaps in the story.

Did you remove the three folders / files?

winhttp.dll especially, as it's the entry point.
