I tried playing today after a year absence from the game and the game will no longer play. The forum says to seek help in discord. I'm not allowed to post in #🔧sn1-bz-tech-support nor #🐞bug-smash . I've read all the troubleshooting guides. How do I get developer help with this game?

OK, here are some details. Granted, I have old hardware, (and I'm running on windows 7) but I have completed the game with this old hardware so something else is at play. I use the -force-opengl command line option in steam. When I launch the game, I see the start screen allowing me to start a game, change options and whatnot. Sitting at that screen and doing nothing else, I can see memory use in task manager climb until all memory has been consumed (16GB RAM)

are you on mac? OpenGL only helps certain mac's

But already this is not a typical fault

windows 7. What happens if you remove -force-opengl?

If I disable the -force-opengl command, The start screen loads and does not consume all memory but when I click start new game and specify survival mode, the screen goes black and never finishes loading. I've waited 30 minutes

I'm on windows 7 and the command line was necessary to work previously.

You love the prawn and are very experienced to use it. You just never spent the ssme amount of time to use the snowfox. But thats fine you can use whatever there is.

I use the prawn a lot for drilling and mining in arctic spires. But to zap around i take the snowfox

Like when you take the utility vehicle or the sportscar

You can find lithium at the ||Thermal Spires around Delta Island|| just laying around on the ground and you can find diamonds at the ||Deep Twisty Bridges ||along the walls and on the ground

yeah, seatruck tows the prawn around then you hop off into the prawn when needed

prawn has the utility for the area, seatruck can get places quicker

especially since the prawn's grappling arm and jets feel way worse compared to the original

just moving around when not touching the ground uses the damn fuel

From Delta beacon, go 1130m East. Look back at the beacon so that it is 1130m West from you. It is also south a little bit. The iceberg has a tunnel, boxes, bones and lights on it. It's the last iceberg before the void.

Its personal preference. Snowfox is fun and you can pack it up. Prawn is working fine and you can drill resources if you want. As the snowfox is a new vehicke i would definitely go ahead and build one but it is not mandatory to make progress. I have four foxes.

No unfortunately not, you can finish the game without even having touched Sams story. That is IMHO a big oversight, but thats how it is. The game should not let you finish without that part, or at least strongly insist that you have not fulfilled your purpose why you came to 4546B in the first place.There is one voice line at the very end that tells you that, but it is easily overheard.

I personally think it would make more sense to have three endings instead of just one, based off what stories you do and don't complete, like the kharah strain spreading and killing almost all life if you don't complete Sam's story, or alterra intervening onto the warp gate site due to their satellite tower detecting it if you don't complete maida's story, what are y'all's thoughts?

You don't "need" it, but you can use it yes. You can just as much use solar panels etc. as a bio reactor 🙂

I have bio on most of my minor bases. I also have the indoor growbed with plants next to it. So unlimited fuel. Solar is fine too, depends a bit on your preferences.
