Also, the breaking outcrop mechanism in both game is a fair randomizer, a bucket system. If you break 10 limestone you'll get 5 titanium and 5 copper ores all the time, because what you get is generated when you break it and not when it's spawned.
So there is a RNG, but it's a controlled one.

You have to chase them down, but the good news is, after you reach a certain story milestone (that comes pretty early unless you ignore it) they’ll stop stealing stuff and if you pin recipes they can actually bring you resources

Yeah it’s nice when you can just grow things a bit away from the forests. You will eventually run across a tech site that has exterior growbeds you can scan, so you can grow your own creepvine and other aquatic plants which makes things convenient all around

It streaches a long way, until purple vents. It has many twists and turns, and yes, I also missed that one nest many times. So you also might want to search the arctic kelp seamonkey caves for the missing parts as well.
