I saw plenty of people telling me they got rid of their mods, but at the end it wasn't the case.
If you have a very old CPU you would have the crash on launch and you wouldn't even reach the warning screen.
Unless you tried to launch the game by removing lib_burst_generated.dll, then you would be stuck on the warning screen but you didn't say anything about that.

But it never happens.

Leviathans do not attack bases, in either game. The only way a base gets damaged is you not paying attention to hull integrity.

As far as BZ, I build a base on the ice above the chelicerate east of delta, specifically to have an observatory in the water next to it. Never had it take a swing at the ball.
And a base in the crystal caves, immediately on a shadow leviathan patrol route.
Honestly, maybe its because I played the first game and was exposed to the reaper, but the BZ leviathans just don't have the same punch to them.

Got my prawn suit down to the fabricator base, completed the cutscene, went to leave and discovered my prawn suit had been destroyed BY the cutscene, stranding me down there.
My first hardcore run, same game version, I tracked down enough artifacts to build the teleport module and tool.
Still lost my prawn suit to the cutscene, but just used the tool to warp back to my seatruck and move on.
