and in the case of my current main base it's in the middle of open water

also, I deconstructed the moonpool to try to get it placed and it still wouldn't let me put it there

it's just on the side of a tower of multipurpose rooms

mostly it's just weird that there's this block of supposedly open water that it doesn't let me place it in

I'll try deconstructing a big chunk of the base around it and see if that clears it up (really wish we could build from vehicle inventories...)

on an unrelated topic, the spy pengling is super glitchy and easy to lose for how expensive it is...
